Jun 2018 - $55.00
This CG is geared for kids...not adults. Our grands had a blast! We did too just by watching them. There is a train that takes you to Little Amerricka Amusement park. CG has a huge pond that is 12 feet deep in the middle. Lots of giant water floats for the kids to play on. A huge shopping cart comes thru and takes kids for a ride! Sites are large and level. We went with daughter and had our doors facing each other and there was plenty of room. Hope to go back next year. This is a brand new CG just opened in May 2018. - PMS123
Jul 2018 - $42.00
Campground is well cared for with lots of grassy areas. Our site was a large pull thru on grass with mature shade trees. Staff is very nice and helpful. There is a swimming pond and a fishing pond on the property. Both looked appealing. The swimming pond has a trampoline in the middle. There is a small bar in the campground open on Thu, Fri & Sat. The bath house was clean but pretty small. Would stay here again though if in the area. - DRKM
Jul 2018 - $42.00
We stayed at eight different camp grounds on our 2 1/2 week trip. This was the most expensive one, but we have stayed here before and really like it. The sites are large and grassy. There is a cute little bar on site. The staff is helpful and friendly, as are the seasonal campers. There is a swimming pond with a trampoline in the middle of it, and a jumping pad on the beach. We didn't have kids with us so didn't use them but they looked fun for kids. It's a very quiet camp ground. - Juniper94
Jun 2018 - $49.00
Cute little campground with very friendly staff and seasonal campers. Site was very long and level and nice and grassy along the drive. We stayed in a VIP site (which is their pull-throughs) and ours was an end site. This CG does not have a lot of sites and a bunch are seasonal and very well-kept. The property backs-up to a farm field and is quite lovely at sunset. We heard and saw Sandhill Crane in the area so that was neat. We were here for Father's Day and there were some activities including a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning (free for Dad). There is a little swimming pond in the CG with a floating trampoline which our kids loved. The water is a weird blue color but I'm sure it's a non-toxic algae control measure of some sort. On the Friday evening a strong storm ran through and took us by surprise. We swear it was a microburst as the down draft was intense and totaled our friend's awning while we were standing under it. The next morning we were standing around looking at it trying to see if we could fix it and a seasonal camper came by to help us. He didn't have the right tool so he went off and got the correct one from the owner. Very, very helpful and friendly folks here. We would stay here again. - EllenT
Jun 2018 - $22.00
Sites were spacious in most cases, some tilt in the one we had, but saw some that looked very level. Staff was great very helpful and informative. Spots were shaded and comfortable. - ournextstop
Jun 2014 - $25.00
Lovely state park outside quaint Wisconsin town of Stoughton. Lake Kegonsa is great fishing/boating lake with terrific little restaurants - try nearby Springers for a classic Wisconsin Friday Night Fish Fry. Pretty easy access off highway; signs easy to follow. Bathrooms with several shower stalls and toilets cleaned daily; cleaned very well! Our campsite was great, as were many others. Trees provided good shade where we were. Great biking in the area outside and all around the park. - Jolly Out There
Sep 2013 - $29.00
This was our first time staying in a Wisconsin State Park. I would say that this campground is not big rig friendly. There are a couple of pull through sites and ours was in the open but most of the sites are heavily treed with no sunlight penetrating at all. The trees are in desperate need of trimming. Most campers had branches laying on their rig, even the shorter ones. Problematic for us was the low hanging trees trying to exit the campground. This campground has no water or sewer but there are fill stations and a dump station available for use. The roads are pretty darned narrow too. This state park is an easy on/off I-95 but we did not hear any road noise. We will not be returning. - roadking
Aug 2018 - $47.00
First let me say this place is beautiful. The sites are spacious. The grass and grounds are well taken care of. There is a nice pool. Now for the negatives: There is no sign on the road to indicate the entrance to the park. Internal roads are a little narrow and dirt/gravel. Most sites are not level, we were able to move sites to get a level one (17). Staff that checked us in gave us no information regarding rules, trash, etc. and no paperwork. Our mail had been delivered before we arrived but the staff was not able to find it. It took till late the day after we arrived to find our mail on our front step SOAKING WET! No explanation was given. Over the weekend the voltage dropped to 106. The staff was aware there was a problem but we were not alerted or compensated. We were not able to use A/C the entire weekend we were here. WARNING: There are recessed fire pits in every site and some are very hard to see. It would be easy to miss them and fall in and have a terrible accident......very dangerous in my opinion. There are low hanging branches in many sites that need to be trimmed. We paid the weekly rate but at first they charged us wrong (daily rate) and I had to go back to the office to get it corrected.. - SNL
Jun 2018 - $53.00
The cost was high given what you got. There was no WiFi and no cable tv. There wasn't even a sign on the roadway with the name of the campground. The sites were spacious although the trees were very close and required careful maneuvering in and out of the space. There was no dog area. The hookups worked fine. The two teenage girls behind the counter gave minimal information and had to be pumped for basic information. They handed out no paperwork at all - no rules, no map, etc. Two washers and two dryers were $1.00 each. There was a pool and putt putt golf available. - Melodycthomas
Sep 2017 - $50.00
This is a huge place, and I don't mean in the number of sites. There are two large grassy fields in front (and about a hundred geese when I was there), lots of space between sites, and lots of grass and trees all around. Nice little miniature golf course, nice pool area, and plenty of room for kids to run around. Lady at office was super friendly and helpful. Park was extremely clean and well cared for, grass was mowed and trees were trimmed. Only there for one night but will definitely stay there again. - DogFriendlyGuy
Sep 2013 - $40.00
I called ahead and asked for full hookups and didn't realize until we got there that they do not have sewer (my fault). It's a pretty campground, but filled with mostly fulltime/vacation trailers. There is an area for RVs, but it's fairly close together and navigating around the twists and turns to get there was a challenge with our 39' RV and tow dolly (total length about 60'). This park is very busy and tons of golf carts driving all over the place. I was eaten alive by mosquitos. We won't stay there again. It's not a bad park, but not for us. Agree with other reviewer, very hard to get into the designated site plus, in our case, the person at the desk told us to go in the wrong way so we had to drive around to come in the right way to attach to services. Again, agree with other reviewer, low trees and sharp turns and the exit was horrible for large rigs. Way too compacted sites. - CTHAA
Aug 2013 - $40.00
For 40ft rvs. Very hard to get into the designated site. Huge rocks and post at the entrance.Trying to leave was worse, .low trees and sharp turns and the exit was horrible for large rigs. Way to compacted sites Office let a few tenter's in and had drugs. - carpetguy
Jul 2006 - $38.00
Nice park, but very crowded on the 4th of July weekend. There are many things for children to do, including a pool, miniature golf and a game room. Pool needed to be skimmed better but was otherwise clean. A lake with a sandy beach is available at the park and you'll pass many seasonal sites on the way which have been very well decorated. A bit pricey for those of us without children, but probably worth it for families. - Snoopy
Aug 2016 - $30.00
This is a very small campground, which I only located through this website! It's a huge grassy area with some trees and a nice creek. There are some low branches on the drive that need to be trimmed, and some of the turf is soft after a rain, so I don't think I'd stay here when it might be wet. I didn't use their bathroom, but my husband did, and he said his was pretty dirty. There's a small, old building with one small room each for men and women. The owners were friendly. Easy off and on the highway. No wifi, but OK Verizon signal for data. Good place for overnight. - mom2wildlife
Aug 2016 - $25.00
This is a very tight campground with a 39' motorhome but I didn't really have any problem getting in or navigating the park. We were on site 9 and it fit our motorhome well and satellite reception with a front roof mounted dish also worked well. Verizon cell reception was good. I did look into the shower facilities and they couldn't pay me to use it. We always use our own shower. The interstate was on the other side of the golf course but the noise wasn't objectionable. The golf course is no longer owned by the campground owners. The way the dump is situated I had to back up a short steep hill to use it but again I didn't have a problem. The view of the little creek, pond and golf course was nice. The view the other way with the barn foundation and a junk trailer parked in it wasn't good. If we are in the area we will stay in this park again if still open. - User1984
Sep 2015 - $25.00
We saw a sign on I-90 for this campground late one afternoon and decided to stop. The campground is actually in the village of Albion and is part of the owner's development of their family farm, along with a par 3 golf course just to the north. The campground is pretty rustic, the sites are all grass, and the road is gravel, but the hookups worked well. The noise from the nearby interstate was noticeable, but the lack of many other campers on the night we were there and the rural scene--creek, pond, foundation of the barn, open meadow, big trees along the creek--more than made up for it. We would stay here again if we happened to be in the area. - fanrgs
May 2017 - $75.00
This is our favorite Wisconsin campground! We enjoy the atmosphere and the convenience of having so much to do. The pool/waterpark is clean, and well kept. As a mom of two little ones, I appreciate the lifeguard staff, and the fact that the pool area and beach are right next to each other. The mini golf, frisbee golf, and pedal bikes are all rented with a deposit that you get back upon returning the items - this is a nice feature being able to do these things for free. This campground allows you to have one RV and one tent per site, which has been nice for having others camp with us. There are fun activities planned on the weekends - and our kids enjoy the activity center, jump pillow and playgrounds. This is a friendly, fun campground. We have stayed 4 times, and plan to keep going back! Helpful note: it can be noisy late - especially on bigger weekends, like Memorial Day weekend when they have a live band play. This didn't affect us that much with being in our travel trailer, but we had friends staying on our site in a tent, and it was hard for them to sleep - they were pretty crabby the next day. - GoBigOrGoHome
Jun 2016 - $75.00
We stayed June 24 - June 26 in our 26' travel trailer. $158.26 incl. tax for 2 adults & 3 children aged 7, 17, & 17. We stayed on site #1; friends stayed on site #2. I was NOT a happy camper this visit. - No pun intended. THE BAD: Our site was covered & I mean covered in geese feces. Good thing we have dogs & I was able to use their pooper scooper....for a little over AN HOUR! I'd say every 10-12 inches there was a pile. Not even exaggerating! Once our friends arrived we collected quite a bit more for at least another 30-45 minutes each. I'd say together we gathered 8-10 pounds of feces. Again, not making this up. We mentioned something to the office & they said people were coming Saturday morning to clean up. The beach was covered - disgusting! Not even a "sorry for the trouble, can we get you some ice-cream?!" Since we were on site #1 we had seen the maintenance crew arrive Saturday morning. They did one section of the beach area, left, & didn't come back. There was still A LOT left! And they didn't come by our site to clean up, or any others for that matter, just the beach area. They are also using a strobe light system to scare the geese away, but all they did was sit behind our camper. I also think they are being fed because at one point they stayed away from the beach area, but we noticed almost all had their heads down to the ground. At this site we also had a lot of campers walking through our site. Unfortunately our one dog that we recently adopted got anxious each time someone walked through the site, so we had to take him inside. It would have been nice if people walked around. THE GOOD: The pool was spectacularly clean this time. It was also nice seeing the lifeguards watching for height restrictions on the younger water slide riders. Out of the local campgrounds in WI this is our #2 favorite campground, but our #3 overall. We will be back, I just hope the geese are more under control next time. - Candi and Michael WI
May 2016 - $85.00
Be sure to thoroughly question the site you plan to stay on. Some sites have terribly placed trees if you have a large rig. We have a 42' fifth. Plan your path to your site before leaving the gate, some turns are quite tight.
This is a party campground. So if you are looking for quiet, this is not your place. Our river front site actually was quite nice. But again, ask when you call. Plenty of weekend sites do not have shade, but some have really nice large mature trees.
There is a guarantee you will have golf carts buzzing around all day. All of them playing music quite loud.
No garbage bins are placed around the campground. You must drive all your garbage to a somewhat inconvenient location. Particularly if you typically throw out garbage while hooked up and dumping. This park has 2 dump stations which is nice, but one of them you must pull head on to a building and back out.
The pool and water slides were well kept and maintained. The beach pond had a funky smell, taste(don't ask), and color. The weird turquoise color makes you wonder.
Horseshoe, volleyball, baseball areas all look fairly well maintained. The Frisbee golf course was decent. I'm sure not many people play that. The skate park I was really looking forward to, was nothing more than a cracked up, abandoned tennis court. The actual tennis court didn't look much better. Both of which should be taken off their advertisements. The dunk tank I didn't look for but didn't see either. - Magiccowinuse
Jun 2014 - $40.00
Good CG's are hard to find while traversing Hwy 39 thru Wisconsin. This County fairground is a gem for a quick stay. 14 new FHU sites have been added recently. We were very level right away. Good Verizon and Wi-Fi. Grass approaches could be challenging if it's wet. The office staff was very pleasant while checking us in. A bit pricey but tolerable. Very clean! - retiredgeezer
Apr 2011 - $20.00
Very Clean and nice place to park for a night or two when visiting the area. The sites are level and large. Power and water very good. Dump station on site. We will use again when in the area. - corky506
Jul 2018 - $25.00
Very pretty government-run park. The camp hosts were very helpful. WiFi is fair, 4.02 Mbps up and 0.49 up. There is a $2.00 discount for old people. The bicycle/hiking path through the park and onto parts unknown is awesome. - The Penguin
Oct 2017 - $27.00
Beautiful park, great location. AMAZING dog park nearby. On our way south for the winter, we wanted to stop in Madison. The 4 county parks are the cheapest and closest campgrounds to downtown, so after researching all 4, we chose Lake Farm because it had the best reviews and best location. We got the last available spot, so make sure you call ahead (there is a rez fee). It is a public park next to a well-used bike trail, so there will be passers-by, and they are welcomed to use the facilities, but they were no bother. And, as other reviews have stated, we did see a couple of homeless people hanging out by the restrooms, but at no time did I feel uneasy about them. I noticed one Rv'er even stopped by to give them some leftovers. There is an incredible dog park nearby with a very large open area, as well as an even larger 'back area' of fenced-in hiking trails. It is easily the coolest public dog park we have been to so far. There is a $5 registration fee to help upkeep the park (annual passes available too). The park only provides electric, but has a dump and fill station on-site. We did not use the facilities. - Unknown_Normal
Jun 2017 - $27.00
The park is very close to Madison and is a county park. It connects with bike and walking trails and is very quiet. - mountainfan
Oct 2016 - $18.00
Good county park campground with nice lots, good electric service available, nice walking trails nearby. - Camper Camper
Aug 2011 - $25.00
This park has about 40 spots with about half of them being 30 amp electric. There is a water fill and a dump station. This is "campground" so some of the sites are only appropriate for tent trailers and smaller trailers and motorhomes. There were about a dozen large motorhomes and 5th wheels here while we were here. This park is located adjacent to I-39/90/94 at the junction with US 51. This campground is at the far end of the park so there is no road noise. We had reservations so there was a large site that accommodated our rig nicely. Not all the sites are as level as our site, and the power post is far enough away on some sites that you will need an extension cord. - skigramp
Aug 2009 - $23.00
We gave this park a low grade because there wasn't a fresh water hook up anywhere in the park except at the dump station... and it didn't have a threaded hose bib to connect to your motor home. Half of the sites aren't level but they are spacious with lots of trees. Also the trash is very far from the sites. The bathrooms were old and not too clean. The hosts were very nice and helpful, though. Even with a low rating we would stay here again going cross country. - portecmp
