This is my third visit to this park since the new owners took over in 2011. They have invested a lot of "sweat equity" in cleaning up the grounds, trimming trees, cutting grass and the overall general appearance. If I owned the campground I would spend some time and money on the bathhouses. Spiders in the corners, water around the sinks, floor dirty. I noticed and pointed out several things, and the manager was appreciative. The problem is this: you must have an eye for noticing things that could be improved and I can tell you that the employees here do not have an eye for that. Examples: they have a fish windsock hanging on the entrance sign. It's in it's third season and faded: spend $25 bucks and present a good first impression. Paint the outside of the office building; repair the bathroom fixtures. The best thing about this campground is the location: close proximity to Fish Creek. The sites are decent and overall it improved greatly, time to take it to the next level. Has amazing potential! We camped at Fish Creek Campground in a Tent.

This is our second visit to the formerly Path of Pines Campground. New owners and they seem to be wanting to make improvements. It is flat and easy to get around. Trees need to be trimmed to allow for easier access and open up the campground. They have no sewer sites but a dump station is available. No TV or 50amp. Most sites are pull-through with a few back-ins and tent site. The bath house floors get very wet so they need regular attention. The best thing going for this campground is its proximity to Fish Creek and Peninsula State Park: exactly one mile to the entrance of Peninsula State Park. We used our bikes for transportation and explored the area thoroughly. This is an OK place to stay but with a few updates could be awesome. We will return due to the proximity to Fish Creek. We camped at Fish Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

From their web site: We will not be taking any reservations for this season. Our business plan has changed and we are honoring our contracts with existing full season campers from 08'. Therefore we will have no daily, weekly or monthly camping for 09'. We camped at Fish Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Path of Pines is located about a mile from Fish Creek on Cty Rd F. There is not a lot of activities located on the campground. Granted I stayed there in mid Oct. The small town makes up for the lack of things to do at the campground. Fish Creek has numerous shops and places to eat. Keep in mind it is normal Door county shopping and prices are high. Peninsula state park is near by and is worth spending some time looking at. Back to the campground. The owners were very nice and helpful. The bathrooms were kept very clean. Showers are free and had plenty of water pressure and hot water. Sites are very easy to get into. Overall its a good campground. I would like to see more things to do within the grounds though. If your looking to get away for a long weekend and a quiet place where you can get out and see some of Door county then I would recommend staying here. We would stay here again. We camped at Fish Creek Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Date of Stay: September, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is located about 1 mile northeast of Fish Creek just off County Road F. The owners live on site and seem very nice. There are no full hookups, which seems to be common in this area. There is a sewer dump. Sites are mostly level with gravel drives and grassy lawns and fairly wide. Most sites have picnic tables. Because of the woods, very few sites are suitable for satellite dishes. Tell the owner upon check in. She knows which sites are more suitable. Campground in General: There are very few seasonal tenants. The bath house is centrally located, clean with good showers. There is a Laundromat in the back of the bath house. Pets are allowed. We had no issues with uncontrolled pets or barking. We paid $28/night and got electric and water where the SP you only get electric, plus we supported a local resident. There is no Wi-Fi, however, you can get DSL access at the Office/Store/Clubhouse or go to the library Wi-Fi hotspot next to the Post Office on Main Street in Fish Creek which is next to the Gallery of Gold. Access is fast and Free. You won’t find big box stores or national name hotels in this quaint little tourist area. We camped at Fish Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a nice campground. The owners were very friendly and quite helpful in informing us concerning sites to see on the Door Penninsula. The campground is less than a mile from the state park. The State Park has a very nice paved bike trail and hiking trail. Great restaurants in the area. We highly suggest the fish boil at Pelletier's. We would stay here again.
