Love this well groomed park with plenty of flowers, apple trees, sunny spots and shady ones. Clean heated pool, showers and bathrooms. Laundry room is in recreation room and next to pool enabling swimming while clothes in wash. All the staff been super friendly. While we are 1800 miles from home, look forward to coming back. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park, site 60 was gorgeous: on a hill with a steep approach and descent, but just go slow. Stair step design of sites, means your porch is above neighbors utilities with a bush separating sites. Great!

We were here late season and should have stayed an extra day or two to enjoy. Obligatory KOA railroad track nearby, loud truck traffic passing by on road, both of which you learn to ignore. Dark at night so great star gazing site. Friendly staff, weak wifi. 1 or 2 bars for ATT & Verizon. Would stay here again. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

Check-in was easy and we were escorted to our site which was on the top of a hill. This property takes pride in their grounds and native flowers and grasses abound. Our campsite was close to the road so a lot of road noise when it was busy but we didn't hear a thing at night. Beautiful night skies, we watched shooting stars and stared at the milky way for quite some time. Only negative was the wood and the fire pit were horrible. We like our campfires and are expert pyros and it took about an hour of constant work to get the fire going. Convenient when you're on the road. We only stayed 1 night on our way up to Minnesota but would stay here again. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for two nights on the upper tier and loved it. Beautiful view, beautiful flowers and great walking trails right from our site. The pool was very, very warm. They heat it using a wood burning furnace of some type. It was nice and clean, the pool, as well as, the campground. We did not have a tree shaded site. You would get that on the lower tier. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

Attractive, spacious, and quiet campground. Take exit 105 off of I-94 and head east. Country access roads are asphalt, smooth, and well maintained. Staff very friendly and available 24/7. Credit cards accepted. CG roads are gravel, smooth, wide enough with minimal obstacles (bushes near entrance but you can swing wide), gentle turns, no overhead obstacles. FHU-20/30/50. Variety of site lengths, pull-thru and back-in, gravel, level with pedestals in rear and sewer in the middle. Very nice landscaping, no patio, has picnic table, fire rings. Firewood at $5.25/bundle. "East Section" no trees, good for satellite antenna placement. Good water pressure and taste. Office store has souvenirs, snacks, soft drinks, trinkets. Restrooms/showers clean, sufficiently modern (score "A"). Propane sales. Multiple playgrounds. Heated pool. Cable TV. Wi-Fi is free and has excellent reception. Verizon coverage at "3 bars". No noise. Bug Report: Flies and lots of 'em. Recycling aluminum cans only. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We last stayed here in 2009 but did not return because they did not have satellite friendly sites. They added a section with 10 sites open to the sky at the highest tier of the park. We stayed in that section and had a gravel, fairly level pull through, FHU site with cable TV that had about 30 channels. As others have noted, the park is full of trees, a great variety of flowers, and many gardens. Unfortunately, I saw many sites that were not level (lots of RVs up on blocks). The bathrooms and showers in the main office building were old, but clean. There is an additional bathhouse, but only 2 of the bathrooms there were open. That may have been because the park was less than half full. Additionally, many of the RVs there appeared to be seasonal (they were unoccupied the night we were there). While there are about 50 FHU RV sites, there are also dozens of RV sites that are only W&E, tents sites, and cabins. As with most KOAs, there is a pool, a bounce pillow, a playground, and other recreational facilities for kids. We had only a few glitches while using their internet connection. It worked fine for our minimal (e-mail and surfing) but that may have been due to the park not being crowded. There are garbage cans throughout the park for recycling glass, aluminum, and plastic. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

As other have noted, a very beautiful park. Many trees and flowers. Gravel roads and sites. Good FHU's. Upper level (new section) is satellite friendly. Take a good look at the site, not all are level. We asked to be at a different site in the upper level due to the slope of the site. Check in staff were very nice. Usual escort to site. Good Verizon. Good cable tv about 30 stations. Good water and electric. Nice pool. Bounce pillow. The park was not full while we were here. We did not see any problems with the full timers in the park and the park was quiet at night in the upper level. We were here for two nights and would return. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

Just found out about awards given to KOA parks. The highest is the Founders and this park has received it several years. It is not a surprise, this park is beautiful! Gardens, lawns and facilities are the best we have seen. We only planned to stay for a night but if the weather is good will extend for another night. The sites are treed or open sky. We chose the trees and love it. The gravel sites are level, lawn around each with a fire pit and picnic table. There are fresh flowers in each of the bathrooms!! Such attention to details. Frankly I could live here! We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

We usually stay in a KOA just overnight, but we were tempted to just stay here for a while. Access road is great. Drive to office is beautiful. Interior roads are gravel as are sites; but they are groomed regularly. Flowers everywhere under beautiful trees. Thick grass. Best tent sites we have ever seen. Apple trees heavy with fruit. Pumpkins by the road. Thick trimmed grass everywhere. Quiet. Staff was great. The lower level has the best sites for shade if you do not need satellite; but those sites are a little short. Upper level is open to the sky. This place is a gem. Only thing it lacks is an off leash dog area. But there are lots of places to walk the dogs in beautiful grassy areas. When we head north again, we will try to stop here. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

The owners love this property and it shows. The planting and maintenance are absolutely first rate. We were told the owners planted 4,000 trees over the last 27 years, so the campground is beautiful. Flowers everywhere. Showers are sparkling clean. WiFi is strong. Verizon is 3-4G strength. Very friendly and engaged staff. One of the prettiest KOA sites we have ever stayed at. Our rate reflects water and electric only plus GS discount for a pull through. We would absolutely stay here again. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely spot. Very easy in and out of pull-through sites. Water was good, electric worked well and we had a full hookup site. Terraced to provide separation from neighbors. Nice landscaping and attention to homey details. Did not use the pool or kids stuff, but enjoyed the view from our site...could see fireworks from all different areas. Will definitely come again. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 was the proximity to the highway and motorcycle/truck noise. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice quiet park. Owners couldn't be any better or accommodating, just wonderful. Sites are gravel, some not very level, though. We had to park backwards in ours to get level. Also the Wi-Fi out in the park didn't work very well, (poor signal). All in all, those 2 little flaws gave it a 9 in my book instead of a 10. Would stay there again in a second We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

Very friendly staff with a well-kept park. We stayed in the upper terraced area, where we got good satellite reception and enjoyed the lovely flowers planted between each terrace. The park is full of little hidden garden and flower areas: a great place to walk and discover. We stayed two nights with the KOA 10% discount and would definitely come back again. We stayed at the Hixton/Alma Center KOA for a month as we are full timer's. We home school our 12 and 11 year old children and have two small dogs. We look for quiet campgrounds that are friendly and clean. The owners of this are not very friendly, but the worker campers would go out of their way to help. Their Big Bouncer had literally broke open about a week before our stay and they would not offer any kind of reimbursement for this inconvenience. Needless to say many people left the campground because of this. The local people have a big tendency to get very rowdy here from what the owners and workers tell everyone. The pool gets over crowded with unattended children on more than one occasion, but if you tell the work campers, they will speak to the people there. Bathrooms are individual units on the upper hill and shared units on the lower level. All were not kept up or very clean anytime we would use them. The maintenance at this campground is very beautiful as the owner loves her flower beds. Unfortunately when they would water them constantly, especially the campers on the upper hill in the newer sites would lose almost all water pressure. Wi-Fi is very spotty and cannot be used much in the newer spots on the upper part of the hill. All newer spots are very level, large sites, but absolutely no shade at all. All of the original spots on the lower tier have much shade, but be aware they are almost all buddy sites except for a few end spots, which reserve up in advance. One big thing to note, as we were not made aware of this for the campground is that the area is covered with ticks and has frequent bear visitations in the area, so be cautious with your canine and check them well for ticks when outside, even at your campsite. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Travel Trailer.
