Have been here many times and were very pleased to find major improvements this time. All sites now have full hookups. This is a lovely campground, especially if you like pastoral scenery. There is much to do in the area including a very interesting 9 hole golf course and some great Wisconsin supper clubs. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Play golf, then drive to Mineral Point historical site about 20 miles away - - climb the hill to the old mines and find out what "badger" really means. Drive the river roads, find hidden places like wineries and breweries

As the other reviewers have mentioned, it is a lovely campground with a super view overlooking farmland. We even had cows mooing close to the fence! The other side of the park is now a housing development. What a shame to lose that view. We had a single pull-though rather than side by side and it had a nice privacy fence. It wasn't quite level and the owner came over and apologized for it when he saw us putting our Lego blocks under the tires. He said he is working hard to make sure all sites are level. This is the only campground we have stayed where there is a chapel. Our only complaint was that the flying insects (from the farm, I'm guessing) were so pesky we couldn't sit outside. We saw others had screened gazebos over their tables. Nice site, beautiful campground, bad bugs. I know it's not the fault of the campground, but it did detract from the fun. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Owner and staff very helpful. Level gravel site double sites in opposite directions close together with enough room for slides. Very good for exploring Dubuque. Utilities worked well. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sewer connections way in the back of the back-in sites, so I used the dump station. Prices based on site location, but they were all about the same. Some permanent residents. Wifi was OK, but no cable and TV reception was not very good despite being near Dubuque. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were looking for an RV park not far from our home to take our new RV out for the first time. This is a great RV park. It is not large which was nice for us. The park has gravel roads and pads all very well maintained. Each site has a patio, picnic table and fire ring. The location is a short distance off the highway and very convenient to get to. A short distance to Dubuque Iowa and a few wineries. The park is on a hill, which allows beautiful views of the surrounding area and fairly good TV reception with just our antenna(it does not have cable) It is quiet, bathrooms were very clean, owners were on site and available. There is a common lounge with fireplace and satellite TV. I would recommend this park and we will probably return. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

They have installed sewer thru out the park. They have leveled the pull thru sites and graveled them and sodded the areas between campsites. Agree with other posts that new owners seem nice and trying to improve the park. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is under new ownership and they are updating the property. All facilities worked. WiFi was good. The staff was friendly. They are still working on the grades in the sites. We had to move once since we could not get level. The bathrooms were older but spotless. The setting is lovely and there is a small chapel on the property. We would come back. The Location is great - close to Dubuque and other sites in the area. Our site was level but very tight to our neighbor. Worked fine, though. We passed on the very nice-looking (and wider) back-in sites so we could get satellite reception. Most sites are nicely shaded. Lots of amenities with a room off the office with games and books. We will definitely stay here again next time we're in the area. Looking forward to seeing the new owner's planned upgrades, too. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

1st and Main Restaurant and Bar in downtown Dubuque has great food, excellent beer selection, and friendly service.

The Sinsinawa Mound Dominican Sisters make bread for raising money. Their cinnamon rolls are out of this world! Only 10 minutes from the camp.

New owners took over in March of 2015 and the owner says he is adding sewer lines to the newer pull-thru section this fall and widening the sites. Woohoo! Beautiful campground looking out over fields just 5 miles from Dubuque and a casino. Everything was clean and worked fine. The big rig site we had was level with grass and a picnic table. And yes, your slide gets intimate with the next guy's slide, so close your shades if that bothers you. The older section has all back-ins with mature trees. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful views. Up on a hill overlooking farms. Level sites. WiFi worked very well. Didn't use the bathrooms, but looked and they were spotless. Easy on and off the highway. I'd guess if you are doing Dubuque, it's the best CG around and only a 10 minute drive to Dubuque. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very clean park with great views of countryside. Pull-through sites were easy to navigate, but pretty close together. Internet was not good, really only usable after 9 PM or on weekdays, when not many campers in the park. Very close to Dubuque and convenient for Galena visits. Not having sewer is not a big problem here as owners have portable tank for only $8. TV access over the air got only CBS/NBC/PBS. But others had dishes out and seemed OK. Great bathrooms/showers. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
