Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This review is based on the fact they charge $65 per night for a campsite and when paying that much you expect premium services. We were unable to back into our site due to the steep hill without grounding out. We were able to cut across the grass and finally make it in. The sewer connections are located in the very back and we were not able to reach them with our dump valves located on the center of our rig. The sites in the new section are spacious for a KOA and nicer then the rest in the park. Pool is way undersized and was over capacity. No cable at that sites (for what they charge). The staff was not the most friendliest, a bit rude and disorganized. Its gravel through out and was a bit dusty some of the roads could use a little grading. We were there on a Halloween weekend which they have 5 of and it was a bit rowdy. Loud music, drunk golf cart drivers, golf cart parades with horns honking. It was a big party and I was expecting it but most of the KOA's I have been to seem not to cater to this type of crowd. They have lots of seasonal sites, the grounds are well kept and there is some open space but at $65 a night I might look some place else and do not think I would return. If passing thru on a weekday and the rate does not bother you it would be a good stopover. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here before it became a KOA. Only thing different is much higher rates. Our premium site was excellent - plenty long and paved. Entire park is well landscaped. Service in office is slow - not enough people working so long lines. They messed up a food order for us. A park at this price should have cable. Wifi was unusable. Roads are dusty and workers speed around in their carts, raising dust. Large rate increases on weekends. Park way over priced un less you need all the amenities for kids. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here before it was a KOA. Beautiful setting, nice sites, good amenities. My one and only complaint is signage. There is no signage to park from either direction. We use two separate gps systems and both routed us to the wrong side of the interstate in an industrial section. We got turned around without unhooking. Park should do something about this. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed a Friday & Saturday night, seemed to be a lot of partying very noisy. They also rent out the golf carts for use and people are running around everywhere on those. A lot of traffic on the dirt roads. Playground was nice for our two kids. Bathrooms and laundry were very nice and clean. Our site, while it was next to the shower house and a lot of foot traffic. was very spacious. Don't know if I would stay here on a weekend again. Lovely grounds. The staff was polite and helpful during check-in process. For such a large park and with the rates as high as they are, I would have expected a guide to our site, but as it was we found it with little difficulty. Our site was spacious with good shade. The gravel surface was quite level, however it could have used a bit more gravel and less mud. All utilities worked well. Electric was stable, water pressure good, sewer port clean and accessible. The Wifi signal was strong, but thru-put dropped off during peak hours. Verizon coverage was very good. Managed to pull in a few OTA broadcast TV stations. Too many trees for satellite. All in all, it was a nice campground. We would return if in the area again. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon - no wait to check in. We have a KOA membership, but the staff had a better deal for us - a free night instead of the 10% discount with our 5-night stay. We have been here many times in the past few years, and will return. Nice pool, playground, ball pit, skate park, laser tag, trails... lots for kids to do. Only problem was for us country folk who are not used to "traffic circles - round-abouts" - it was confusing to get to Hwy 59 off I-39. We discovered a much easier route by exiting at Janesville and going up through Milton on John Paul Road and out to the campground. Our GoogleMaps app guided us out that way with no problems. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We were disappointed. Very recent KOA acquisition and improvements still needed. Most sites 1/4 minus brown gravel and still quite loose. To exit our pull thru, we had a very steep, gravel hill. Out jack and front of trailer scraped as did my sewer drain boom. The office staff tried hard to accommodate us with a level site. The concrete slab sites were nearly $10 more. We will not return here. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground itself was clean and well cared for with lots of amenities for families. We had a pull through site, but ended up not being able to pull through with our 40 foot 5th wheel due to a large rock and very tight turn on the front corner. We had to back out of the site instead. Many of the gravel pull through sites are on a grade and not level - to the point that several campers (including our's) had a wheel or two off the ground or were placed on leveling blocks. They do have several concrete pull through sites that are very nice and level, but were not available for our overnight stay. Showers were private, hot, and clean. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Since we had to unhook our tow vehicle, we decided to visit Rosati's Pizza Sports Pub just down the street on the river and would recommend it to others. Good food, friendly service, and nice atmosphere.

Very nice park. Great trail around the park for walking, jogging, biking. Lots of amenities for adults and kids both. We were here for just one night and not on the weekend and it was absolutely perfect! Not crowded or noisy at all. My only suggestion would be to trim the shrubs coming in and at the sites, we did scrape them....thankfully, they were soft. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Motorhome.

This park was apparently taken over somewhat recently by KOA. The entrance area was very striking and well maintained. Reception and service staff was efficient and extremely friendly. The park is more or less divided into two sections, one for permanent residents (own their lots) and short term campers. The long term area was generally pretty well kept. The short term area was a bit hilly but quite nice. Utilities were fine but so cable is a small negative. Bathrooms and showers were excellent, newish and clean. Access in/out was problem free. Very nice park. Very clean. Make sure to request a Level pull through site since many are on extreme inclines. They have a few cement slab sites. Ask for one. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground that has just recently been taken over by KOA. Not a big fan of KOA, but this is nice. The night we stayed here they had a very heavy thunderstorm and it washed out many of the interior roads were washed out. They look like they had just recently put a lot of gravel on them to make them smoother and wider. It was sad to see the hard work get washed away. I am sure that it is all fixed up by now. They had a nice pool with a nice deck around it and a neat waterfall feature in it. The chlorine was very high in it and all of our eyes began to burn shortly after we got in. We did enjoy our site and as it was a back in site that was fairly private. I would stay here again. We came in on a Sunday afternoon(for an overnight stay) as the park was emptying out from the weekend so we didn't get all the noise and hustle/bustle mentioned in other reviews. It's a big, lovely park, lots of amenities, and sparkling clean bathrooms and laundry facilities. Interior roads and most overnight sites are packed gravel with grass strips between the sites. Premium (read more money) sites have concrete parking pads. Many of the gravel based sites are not particularly level, so leveling your rig may be a bit of a problem. Although there are trees throughout the park, most sites are open enough that satellite reception is perfectly fine. Staff was friendly and check-in was quick, easy and efficient. We'd stay here again. We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.
