This is a beautiful campground with everything you could ask for. We spent 3 nights with 2 of our grandsons and our dog. It is a pet friendly park. Heated pool, game room, snack bar and wonderful fishing lake right across the street. You can rent a rowboat, kayak or canoe or just stand on the pier and fish. My grandson and husband caught at least 50 fish in 3 days. They also have bike rentals available, one seater, two seaters or four seaters. Our site was clean with nice picnic table and fire ring. There are a lot of seasonal campers here but we stayed during the week so most of them weren't even there. The owners are friendly and want to make sure everyone enjoys the campground. They were having a "Christmas in July" this weekend and were starting to decorate when we left. I would highly recommend this campground for families, couples and anyone that loves camping. Will definitely return next year. We camped at Buffalo Lake Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this park recently. Sites are spacious and mostly shady. Internet was good as long as you don't mind re-signing back in every 2 hours! Bathrooms and showers were exceptionally clean. Park is really quiet. This park is located within a small community of Montello. There is a post office and beautiful little park. Don't expect any big stores. Staff at the park are very friendly. Even though during our stay the weather was too cool, there were people enjoying the heated pool area. Roads were narrow and packed caliche. Lots of live in residents but the majority of those wouldnt deter us from staying again. We camped at Buffalo Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

It's a perfectly charming campground nestled in the woods across the road from Buffalo Lake - a great fishing lake. The park is clean and well maintained with excellent free Wifi (streaming is actively discouraged). There are playgrounds for kids, clean heated pool with deck chairs, volleyball, a screened fish cleaning station, a camp store and takeout grill serving good food, a lending library, laundry, propane, rental bikes, canoes, kayaks, and cable TV. We did not have any difficulty receiving satellite. What more could you ask for at an RV park? There is a high percentage of permanent sites used primarily for weekend getaways. All are well maintained and neat. There are 110 sites with 45 used for transients and one cabin. The interior roads are limestone and gravel and can be dusty though the dust was not bothersome while we were there. The owner and his wife are very friendly, here every day, and dedicated to you having a good experience. My wife and I will not hesitate to stay longer and to return to this jewel of a campground. We camped at Buffalo Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is Amish Country so be cautious of horse-drawn buggies and wagons. And, watch for deer on the road. Fish Buffalo lake. There is a screened fish cleaning station in the RV park. Salemville Cheese Factory is an Amish co-op; very plain in the Amish way (See pictures). Their offering of cheese is extensive, excellent quality, and very reasonably priced. The Dells are a day trip away, and the park is away from the crowd and high camping rates.

Very clean and quiet with long, pull through sites. We had full hook up and 50 amp service. Lady in the office was very helpful and pleasant. There are a number of seasonal people and their sites were clean and orderly. Verizon phone and wifi worked well. We camped at Buffalo Lake Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

They can give you a map in the office to locate the Amish Cheese factory. It is very difficult to find from the map but once we put in the name in the GPS we drove right there. There are many places selling vegetables and fruit.

Owners on site every day and super friendly, great shade, on-site grill with good grub, huge selection of snacks/rv supplies/live bait, easy 1 mile walk/bike to town,wi-fi solid, pool smaller for campground size, but clean, plenty of chairs, ton of activities for kids, huge game room with a/c. One of the best we have seen in 4 mo. of full-timing…huge game room. We camped at Buffalo Lake Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

If you like to camp under high-canopied trees in a well-maintained RV park, this is the place for you. Although some interior roads are on the narrow side, we navigated in a 40 foot motorhome without problem. Very friendly staff made us feel welcome. Park is close enough to Wisconsin Dells to make a day trip, but far enough away to avoid crowds. Montello is a very enjoyable, small town: so no need to drive to the Dells! We camped at Buffalo Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Pleasant campground with tight but maneuverable interior roads. We couldn't level in the first pull-through site we were assigned without lifting the rear wheels off the ground. Our second site worked out fine. Nicely wooded with nice grassy areas. Wi-Fi and cable TV were good. We camped at Buffalo Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

The pull-thru site was nice. The only problem we saw with our site was tree location when pulling straight out, you wouldn't have been able to make the turn, but we were able to back straight up and go down a different road. Unfortunately it rained that weekend, so we didn't do a whole lot, but on a positive note the soil was sandy, so we didn't have any puddles of water or mud. Would camp here again. Overall Rating:

We picked this campground because of the pool and boat launch. The pool is great even though some of the young children using it need more supervision for safety reasons. The boat launch is 3.5 miles down the road but they do have small docks you can use closer to the campground. The other reason for the low rating is the small sites, dirt sites and roads leave everything very dirty, and this is the noisiest campground we have ever stayed in. I am not sure if the noise was coming from the campground or a nearby neighbor because it was too late to go out and investigate. Also some of the clientele is undesirable because of poor language and again not supervising children. We camped at Buffalo Lake Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
