Small park with great possibilities if they would only do a little tree trimming on the entrance drive. Not very big rig friendly. My motorhome is 12' 6" high and I barely made it in and out without damage. New Glarus is such a nice little destination town and there are no other RV parks or Walmart nearby. Park is older and worn. I did not check out any of the bath facilities if they had any. Hookups are shared between two sites. On a post between the pull-through sites are four 30 amp outlets and four water hose hookups so the RVs pull in head to toe to connect. Water and electric were fine. No cable but got several local channels over the air. A dump station is located in the park. I found a free Wi-Fi that allowed me to connect. Sites are grassy, gravel and level. Grass cutting was OK. Grounds were clean and uncluttered. Park is located behind the Town Edge restaurant which closes at 2 PM. Call the restaurant for reservations. Cash or check, no credit cards. I would have been quite happy at the Town Edge RV Park and given a better rating if they had only done some tree trimming at the entrance. A State Park is located about 1 mile south. I drove through the state park to check it out but sites are suitable for an RV of any size (think tent sites). State park has pit toilets and no hookups and no showers. As mentioned before, the campground is part of the cafe in town and closes are 2:00 PM. We arrived after this time and took a site, plenty open. Paid for the site the next morning when the cafe opened. Did not use the bathrooms so can not comment on their conditions. Location is great for exploring town, just walk up the street. Brewery has move out of town, up on the hill. During summer months there is a shuttle from down town to the brewery for tours. Would stay again for a night or two. This park is a mixed bag. Good news first: It's located right in the town of New Glarus, literally within walking distance of the town's historical district and attractions. The bad news: The park is operated by the Town Edge Restaurant and seems to be more or less an afterthought. The 24 sites consist of 12 pull-through lanes long enough for two units. (After the first unit pulls in the second site in the lane is a back-in.) The lanes are extremely narrow, so if the park is full you can't extend slide-outs or awnings. No trees, no picnic tables. It wasn't full when we were there, so it wasn't too bad. The restrooms are a joke. They are located in what appears to have been a small motel. After paying a key deposit you enter a hallway through an exterior door and go to one of two small former bedrooms labeled "men" and "women". The restrooms are tiny bathrooms off these bedrooms, smaller than the bathroom in many RVs! And they weren't very clean when we were there. If you are there at an off-peak period and don't need the campground restrooms, it does have great location, and the folks are friendly.
