Stayed for a night - rained very very hard - excellant drainage in the park as my morning to my surprise the campground was not a lake Our dog enjoyed the dog park - as a matter of fact they have two of them We stop here often as it is half way to our sons house, the freeway noise did not really bother us and we were on that side of the park. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is located right on the freeway and even the AC did not drown out the noise. The pool area is nice along with the bouncy pad they had in the back. All in all what you would expect from a KOA. I would not be back just due to the close proximity to the freeway. Also our site was a bit of a pain to back into (mainly because of parked vehicles around it) and the sewer connections were in the back so we could not use them. The site was not long enough to fit the truck so we had to unhook and hook in the road. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This park is very clean and well-maintained. The staff are friendly, professional and very helpful. There are many mature trees and the sites are adequately spaced. They had an above average sized pool and a nice playground. You could hear the traffic when you were sitting outside, but it wasn't too bad. We would definitely return to this park. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Very easy access to I-90. The campground was well maintained and the staff were great. The site was level and all hook-ups worked well. There were 2 nice dog areas that were also well kept, it was nice to have cut grass in them. Stayed for 1 night, but if ever in the area again I would definitely stay again. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Had planned on Walmart camping for 2 nights on the road home, but after one night in a rest area next to a refrigerated truck in the 95 degree heat, we had to find a campground. This KOA was easy off the highway, very wooded and shady. Had a pullthrough for just one night, but great hookups! Pool looked nice, they had an ice cream social ($2) on Fri and Sat afternoons and a pancake breakfast ($3) weekend mornings. It was Father's Day weekend and the place was packed with families, but quiet. Even decent cable TV, which is somewhat of a rarity. Close to the River and the Dells. I was surprised how pretty the area was too! Pilot was right on the way in. Appreciated the two grassy fenced in dog areas, not all KOAs have them! A well cared for park. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to the River and the WI Dells. Pilot station on the way into park for easy pickup of convenience items. We only stayed a night, but would have liked to explore the area a little.

Located for easy on and off freeway. Very helpful office staff with an ice cream social and pancake breakfast offered. Owner had a newborn goat that was adorable. It seemed fairly quiet and we opted to move to a site closer to the highway that did not have trees so our rooftop satellite worked. Very warm during our stay and AC muffled the road and train noise. Cable is available. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Wisconsin Dells so we took an upper Dells tour and rode The Original Ducks on the lower Dells. Another day we visited Frank Lloyd Wrights Taliesen which was very interesting. If you go, spray yourself with a Deet based spray for mosquitos. Nearby Pilot gas station and truck wash which looks like it could take an RV.

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I visited Oakdale KOA in early October. The fall color line was passing south over the area: the trees varied from a tired green to a brilliant golden to a sleepy brown. The park provided the outdoor campground feel common to KOAs, rather than the ambience of a resort. Since that is what I prefer (even if I spend most of my time indoors at the computer), I find that KOAs suit my fancy, despite the resort-loving critics, and this was no exception. The park was spacious and uncluttered, with mature trees that provided a nice balance of sun and shade. The lanes were big enough to navigate easily, but the gravel site was barely wide and long enough for my truck and trailer. There is not much in the way of activities to do or sights to see in the vicinity. This is a place for people who manage their own lives. Should I return to this part of Wisconsin, I would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The only reason I didn't rate this park higher is because the freeway is rather loud nearby and the trains too. Park Review: Yes you CAN hear the freeway - contrary to remarks on some previous reviews and we were in a site about as far away as you can get in site 31 Which is a higher priced site as I asked to be away from the freeway but that really didn't make any difference. It is kinda like "white noise." The train wasn't bothersome. The owners and staff are very nice and helpful. We were in site 35 where there is a lot of tree cover so no satellite but the cable tv was good - 49 channels provided by Direct TV Satellite but don't try to match up the channel numbers - evidently when providing this type of "cable tv" to an RV park, the owners get to decide what number to assign to which channel. The laundry was good and the restrooms were typical for KOA - old and in need of updating but basically clean. There are some long term residents but didn't seem like very many. The utilities were just fine and easy to hook up. The site was quite level. The sites are really well spaced - not as close together as many KOA's are - that was great not to be crammed in. They pick up your trash for you which is nice. The park in general is well kept and maintained. It looked like they were either upgrading the electricity at some sites or perhaps adding electric to some other sites. We would stay here again if we had occasion to be in this area. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for one night on our way west. Nice facilities, friendly staff, some of the nicer bathrooms/showers we have had on our travels. Site was level and well staggered to give lots of space even though the campground was full. we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Stayed here on our way home from Minnesota. Easy check-in, clean and level sites. Right off the highway so a lot of highway noise if you're closest to the highway. The spots in the back are not as loud but the traffic noise permeates the entire campground. Campground has activities on the weekends and the kids took part in the ice cream social. Other than the traffic noise, the park is quiet and the campers pleasant and friendly. We would stay here again while on the road but would request a site not so close to the highway (we spent the evening watching trucks roll down the road while enjoying our fire). We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The camp store carries frozen Kozy's pizza (local pizza place with superior thin-crust pie) and they'll cook it up for you and deliver to your site. Highly recommend Kozy's!

Great people and wonderfully kept campground. Too bad it is so far from our house. Lots for the kids to do. Very nice store: had to get some Wisconsin cheese. We stop here as much as we can. We will stop again. Lots are spacious with sunny and open exposures. Site surface is gravel and features a fire ring and picnic table. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here one night on our way to Wisconsin Dells. We enjoyed the park. We would stay there again. The park is easy to navigate, the cable and other hookups were easy to locate and take care of, and the staff was very nice. The store had some cool items for sale. It was fun to look around. They escorted us to our site, even though the park is easy to understand. The playground was very cool. A huge sand box with some fun digging toys that are made so the child can sit on it and pull levers to make it dig. It also had a huge inner tube for the kids to play with and in. The other equipment was fun, as well. The pool was very large and was at a great temperature. There were a few pool toys available for the kids to play with. We camped there in a motorhome.
