This is a hidden gem! Very close to the EAA museum (a must!), shopping and highways. We were here over Labor Day weekend and almost had the place to ourselves. Sites are in the grass, but fairly level. Two camping areas but full hookups were in the trees. Don't plan to be there the last week in July! But do plan to enjoy watching vintage aircraft fly over every day. We camped at Sleepy Hollow Farm CG in a Motorhome.

Definitely plan to visit EAA Museum. The maritime museum in Manitowac was also worth the drive.

This is a hard campground to review. The other reviews are too old to be helpful. The campground is open year round. It is walkable only to the EAA, but a lot of shopping and restaurants are nearby including the outlet mall across the highway. All types of sites and cabins are available. The sites at the front are shaded and full hook-up which seems to be rare around Oshkosh. Some are 50 amp, some only 30. The 8 showers are each in individual rooms. The staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. There was no staff here when we arrived; I think it is only staffed during special events so you need to call ahead. We called and were told to pick a site; they would catch up with us later. They accept only cash or personal checks. Sites were mostly level, grass with some gravel. The campground is one of the quietest we've ever stayed in. There are no child oriented amenities such as a playground. The grounds were clean but overgrown; they mowed most of it while we were here. All the connections worked well. A quiet pleasant stay for us. We camped at Sleepy Hollow Farm CG in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Friar Tuck's nearby had great food at very reasonable prices. Menominee Park in downtown Oshkosh had a really nice paved path by the lakefront if you like to walk.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Is near the airport but only heard propeller aircraft, no jets. Also could hear I-41 traffic some but not unbearable. Lots of full hookup sites but most are on the grass and in the sun. We had a shaded gravel pad, that could have used more gravel, but it was level. We did have to park the TV in the site next door so it was out of the road. There are no real site boundaries and when full I think units will be very close together. If there are other units there it will be very difficult to maneuver with a big rig. The road through was soft but it has been raining a lot. No one near us when we arrived, or when we left, but needed to use 4 wheel drive to avoid tearing up the grass and road while maneuvering the TT. DW said the restrooms were clean. We used the shower in the RV so don't know about the showers. We were there to do some geocaching and sightseeing so really only used the site for a place to sleep. With FHU for $30 a night it more than served our needs. No fire rings or picnic tables. Trucked our garbage and recycling home since we didn't see any dumpsters. I didn't walk all around so I don't know if there was a playground or anything for kids to do. I think the staff is really working hard to make this a nicer place to stay. I think the area music festivals and the EAA fly-in is where they make their money. For what we needed the site for we would stay there again. We camped at Sleepy Hollow Farm CG in a Travel Trailer.

We've rated this park "excellent" but bear in mind that this is a specialized campground, open only for a few select events and we were there during the EAA AirVenture along with 41,000 other campers. Not all of them at this campground obviously. And we feel that for this purpose, they do an excellent job! A perfect location to camp for the EAA event, an easy walk to the main gates, kept comparatively clean, plenty of port-a-potties, hand washing stations, and trash receptacles. We could literally watch the airshow from our campsite in the open "back field," although not the runway activities. What really sets Sleepy Hollow Farm apart? Their genuine passion for making their guests comfortable and happy amid all of the chaos! If you have a problem, the owner and his staff start working immediately to resolve the problem and communicate along the way (so important!). We had a few snags. Someone in our site when we arrived, pump-out truck missed our holding tank completely, lost reservation a few weeks before we got here. But let me assure you, each incident was handled RIGHT AWAY, with a smile and caring attitude and with results! You can't ask for a better bunch to be looking after you so far from home! We've been staying at Sleepy Hollow for five straight years for Airventure EAA. We stay ten days every year. Jeff and Barb are fantastic. Friendly and helpful. They take care of anything that needs attention and always with a smile. This is the ONLY way to "do" Airventure. The sites are 20' x 40' each. At only $42/night, if you need more room, rent two! Water and electric at every site. Sewer trucks run every day and pump you out for only $25. Wi-Fi is available. It simply blows EAA's Camp Schoeller away. You will still meet/know all your neighbors but you'll be in an oasis in the middle of everything. Kamping Kabins are rough and simple but new. Pets are welcomed. Neighbors respect quiet times. "Back 40" sites do not have water hookups yet but lets just see what Jeff and the 'red shirts' have planned for coming years... We camped at Sleepy Hollow Farm CG in a Motorhome.

Sleepy Hollow is a "specialized" private campground/RV park that primarily caters to the gigantic annual EAA Convention/Fly-in, and is located immediately outside the function's main entrance. They also open for other summer "happenings" in the Oshkosh area or on-demand for group functions. Unlike the EAA's adjacent Camp Scholler (see reviews), Sleepy Hollow provides 50-amp electric (a life-saver in the hot humid Oshkosh summer!). There is water hookup, but no sewer. Pump-outs can be arranged. Sites are quite tightly packed but most are fully shaded and overall the facility is very pleasant, certainly more so than the EAA open field alternative. "Semi-portable" bathrooms and showers are provided and while not fancy are kept quite clean. Most clients are RVers but there are tent sites and a few very basic "cabins" that are air-conditioned. Reservations well in advance are essential and for the EAA function you must book multi-day, either full week or first half / second half. For RVers, this is by far your best bet at EAA Oshkosh. We camped at Sleepy Hollow Farm CG in a Motorhome.
