Beautiful county park. We stayed in lot 44 and had excellent DISH tv service. Verizon cell and internet service also excellent. Quite a few beautiful trees, though, so not all sites would have good reception. We needed 50' electrical cord and 50' water hose to reach the utilities. Site was a level asphalt pad. The boat ramp, beach, and playground looked wonderful, however we didn't use them. Due to off season, the snack bar wasn't open, but looked great. We would definitely stay here again if passing through. We camped at Shawano County Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I stayed here for two nights (over the weekend) while passing through in a 27 foot motorhome with a tow car. This is a large county park and campground with lots of amenities for weekend campers. It was also wall to wall RVs, boats, trailers, cars, and people all weekend. There are no natural areas or hiking trails in the park or in the neighboring area. Only hiking trail is in town and runs next to an active railroad line. Campground has two loops -- the front loop along the lake which is grassy and open with trees and has paved pads and fairly spacious sites (many taken by seasonal campers) and the back loop which has dirt/grass sites and fills a corner near the roads. My site -- 59 -- was in the pine trees as were several other sites around me one of which a man with a fifth wheel never could fit in to. I liked my site. Very spacious and away from all the commotion although it did back up to a (little used) road. Other sites with higher numbers on the back loop are in the open and very tightly spaced. I had made an onsite reservation but my site wasn't marked reserved which was a little alarming since I arrived on a Friday. As others have noted the sites share electric poles and water spigots so you can be a LONG way away from your hookups. I was the only person in the campground with a tow car. Boating was the big draw as was the beach and the snack bar which is open till 10 pm and whose parking lot was jammed with cars and folk hanging about. No big rigs present. It worked as a place to spend a weekend while traveling but I wouldn't be back. Verizon was extended service but worked well. We camped at Shawano County Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Great campground that provides both electric and water on majority of sites. Located on large, full wake lake with sand beach and boat landing. Has many items available to rent like paddle boats, paddle boards, tennis rackets, and games. Also has a nice playground, gaga ball, outdoor foosball and outdoor pool. Sites are large and easy to maneuver in, some even have concrete pads. Camp store has lots of the necessities and snack bar has both hot food and treats. We camped at Shawano County Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Get sites on the lake side of hill for a closer walk to the beach, however none of the sites are too far away.

I would definitely stay at this park again. With everything that they had for activities it felt like a private campground instead of a county park. Fridays and Saturdays the campground was full when we were there. Sunday people pulled out in the afternoon and it quieted down. The beach and boat landing area were busy Saturday and Sunday. Great campground and we had a good time. There is also a golf course across the street. We had site 63 which was very large, but with all of the trees in the area and the narrow roads it looked like a challenge for those people with a 5th wheel or travel trailer. We camped at Shawano County Lake Park Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Shawano has a lot of stores and restaurants. We also went to Cecil which is a nearby city with restaurants and such. You can fish off the pier or bring a kayak/canoe and go cruising the lake.

Overall Rating:

Park was well-maintained. About half the sites are paved and half are not. The electric/water connections are strangely very far from the sites, so be sure to have plenty of hose and an extension cord (50 ft). The road through the sites is a little narrow and winding, especially in the back section by the dump station, which makes it a little challenging for big rigs. There are lots of trees which also can make it a challenge to back into a site. The playground is excellent. We stayed for an overnight, and would stay here again. We camped at Shawano County Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very nice park on the shores of Shawano Lake. Lots for everyone to do. Paddle boats, canoes, swim beach (no lifeguard), boat ramp, two bathhouses with showers, (50 cents) very clean. They pick up your trash in front of your site several times a day. Large play area for the younger kids and basketball, tennis court and kickball for the older ones. On site security. Would have given it a 10 except the utilities are strangely located away from the sites. We are in a back in, 50amp site and had to use a 25' extension cord as well as a 25' extension on our water hose. Many sites are big rig friendly, we are 45'. Verizon was OK, AT&T off and on. Only one handicapped site which was occupied by non handicapped campers. (Error by office staff, promised to be corrected.) We camped at Shawano County Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I tried to stay here but they had only 2 sites remaining and the electric pedestals were so incredibly far from the sites that I couldn't reach. Since it was over 100 degrees, I didn't want to use an extension cord while running my a/c. If you plan to camp here, have extra power cord and water hose with you. This is the only reason I didn't give it a 10. It seemed to be a marvelous place to camp, if only I could reach. We camped at Shawano County Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.
