This is a nice city operated campground. It's a few miles south and west of I94 and within easy driving distance of Eau Claire, about 30 minutes away. There are basically two sections of the campground. The older section consists of sites 1-21. These sites are grass camping spots with plenty of trees and a feeling of privacy. They are also water/electric only. Sites 22-42 are developed gravel campsites offering full hookups. There aren't as many trees, but a few of the sites look out over the upper portion of the lake. Many of the others border a big open grassy area that has a mown park-like feel. There are restroom/shower buildings in both sections of the park as well a big children's playground and two volleyball courts - these get a lot of use by the locals. Adjacent to the campground and, in fact, right next to several of the campsites in the older section of the campground is a nice nine-hole golf course. If a person likes to golf they can basically walk out of their camper and onto a fairway. My Verizon 4G worked well and since we were backed up to a wide open field I had no problem at all getting a satellite signal. Also worth mentioning is that the campground has excellent WiFi, a rare find in most any campground. We camped at Crystal Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice city owned campground next to local 9 hole golf course with bar and grill and city park. All gravel or grass back in sites in two areas - old section without sewer, but lots of shade, and new section with sewer connections and some shade. No AT&T phone service but Verizon works very well. We camped in a FHU site w/sewer and cable TV for $20/night. $2/night less for the no sewer sites. We would stay here again whenever in the area. We camped at Crystal Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This city-owned park is next door to the Viking Golf Course in Strum, WI. It has added some new sites in the last year. The new sites are not blacktop as listed in an earlier post. There is a blacktop loop to drive through the new site area. Electricity on the 50 amp sites has low voltage. There are lots of piles of goose droppings as there is a large flock of geese that make this park their home. Several of the sites are open to the sky and you can use your satellite dish. Even with the low voltage and goose waste, we will be back again in 2008. We camped at Crystal Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This city-owned park is next door to the Viking Golf Course in Strum, WI. It has recently been enlarged with another 20 or more sites. The new sites are blacktop. The "old" ones, which we prefer, are big enough for two large campers, with lots of shade. There is access to the ATV trails from the campground. The golf clubhouse serves lunches and evening meals, if you don't feel like cooking. This is a real bargain at $55 for a week's stay. People are very friendly. We camp here as often as possible, and just completed two weeks here. We bring our 4-wheelers and our golf clubs. We camped at Crystal Lake Campground in a Motorhome.
