Chapparal Campground & Resort has a beautiful campground. We were nearby the cabins which looked really nice. The campground itself is immaculate as are the showers and bathrooms. The seasonal people were friendly and welcoming. They have a really nice pool area which we did not have time to use. The restaurant has good food but it looks like it's out of the 1960s. Other odd things are the office really needs a lot of work, it just doesn't seem to go with the campground. Hopefully they are going to be modernizing it soon. While most campers quieted down at reasonable times there are no official quiet hours. Would not have been a big deal but there was a huge group of tents on the bottom of the hill below us. This site was not on the map and these people were partying until 3:00 am, all we heard was hoots and hollers and "thujmpa, thumpa". We didn't get any sleep the first night. We had the AC on the second night so it drowned them out. Our site was nice but sloped, had to crank down the tongue until it was almost touching the ground. However we did not need to level left to right. We went there to bike and it's only a few minutes from Elroy, WI. A half mile from parking for the 400 trail. We camped at Chapparal Campground & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Park is well maintained and in a very pretty area. We were on "the hill" and had a great view of the area. Owners try hard to keep the place clean and assure the guests are pleased. We camped at Chapparal Campground & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit downtown Wonewoc. Very cute. Be sure to eat at Kelley's restaurant. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Owners were a joy to speak with and enjoy engaging the patrons in conversion.

The park was very clean. While the seasonal sites were on the middle level, the transient sites were at the top of the hill with a beautiful view. It was easy to park with plenty of room and easy access to utilities and water. The camp includes a lake, and a long hiking trail which ends at a 40 acre refuge for birds. It is just half a mile from the 400 bike trail. We have traveled quite a bit in our RV but have never met such friendly accommodating owners. We camped at Chapparal Campground & Resort in a Motorhome.

The views from the hilltop sites are some of the most beautiful I’ve seen in a campground. Since it is on a hilltop there is a pretty steep climb to the site but it is paved and has a few switchbacks to break up the climb. Be very careful when checking in at the office at the rear of the restaurant as there are some large dips in the parking lot. Large enough to high center some rigs. These are paved dips to try to control water running down off the hill. Grass pull-thru sites are parallel to the drive, which gives the best views but may require a little jockeying to get positioned. Water pressure seemed a little weak. Nothing much near by, town of Wonewoc doesn’t have much to offer, had to drive 12 miles to Reedsburg to find a decent grocery. We didn't try the restaurant, looked at the menu and didn't see anything healthy listed. We stayed here to visit the Wisconsin Dells. We camped at Chapparal Campground & Resort in a Motorhome.

The facilities, pool, showers, etc., were quite a hike from our spot at the top of the hill, but other sites might be closer. We had one of the very large pull throughs, these are parallel sites, so no one is on either side, just to the back or rear. We had spot 64 which is very satellite friendly and with plenty of room that was all ours. All of the sites on the hill are the same. The whole park was very peaceful. No road noise. We would stay here again. We camped at Chapparal Campground & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Our site, 38 and 38B, was probably one of the nicest sites we've ever stayed in, lots of room and nice shade. We didn't need our awning or screen room - there were no mosquitoes and few stinging insects. The staff made our family reunion camp out exceptional and were very accommodating. Some of us were camping and some were in cabins. I didn't try the food but others in a group did and said it was good. They had some essentials in the store. Therer is a grocery 5 minutes in town plus a farmers market. The pool looked nice, and the kids enjoyed it. The grounds were immaculate and campground very well laid out, seasonal sites were very well maintained. There is some road noise if you are in a tent. I would stay here again if in the area. It took us 30 minutes to get to the Dells area. We camped at Chapparal Campground & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the nicest campgrounds we ever stayed at. The pool was clean, the showers were clean, and everyone that worked at this campground are so nice. We loved the restaurant; they had prime rib on Saturday. For some reason this campground has no mesquitos thank god, I think because you're not camping in a valley, you're on the side of a hiil overlooking the Baraboo river. The sites are very big. We have been camping here the last 5 years, and look forward to coming back in 07.ps your only 20min.from Wisconsin Dells. We camped at Chapparal Campground & Resort in a Travel Trailer.
