Nice and simple park. Freeway traffic slowed at night. Easy and beautiful drive into Cody, Wy. Only a few electric and water sites but as said, everything worked and was clean. Good Verizon cell and data coverage. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

We felt this park was a real find. Our space was waterfront, with a beautiful view of the lake. A little rustic, but met our needs. 6 miles into Cody, WY gave us the chance to go in and go to the museum. Would definitely stay there again just for the view. We travel in a 37' RV. We did not get a water & electric site, as the few they have are taken but we do have a no hookup site for the night. Rangers at both campgrounds in the park did not know if there would be any W/E sites available in the morning; one said he didn't think there would be. For the night we figured dry camping would be OK but didn't want to do it for 4 or 5 nights. I guess we should have made a reservation. I thought if we got there early enough we could still get an electric site. I forgot the weekend was coming up. This was a Thursday didn't realize the state park is on a lake and would be busy. No hookup sites, they had plenty open. Stayed only 1 night. BB State Park is a nice park. The Shoshone River runs through the park. Lots of water, nice views. It has 2 campgrounds and each has some W/E sites. The North Shore Bay campground has 37 sites of which 7 are W/E. This is the nicer of the 2 as it is on the water. North Fork Campground that we were in for the night has 62 sites, 8 W/E. This one is not on the water. If you want a w/e site you most likely will need to reserve one. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

First... there are two campgrounds at BBSP. The East end is has exceptional views of the mountains and is lake front. The West campground is green grass, river view with mountains all around. Both are wonderful! Second... the reservable sites are the only sites with electric. The first-come-first-served sites have NO services. Water is available at the entrances and located around the camp. Dump stations are at the entrance of both campgrounds. We stayed on the East campground for two nights then moved to the West camp. Both have something different to experience. We will return! We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the park. There is a fire circle and picnic table with each site, most were fairly level though there were some that might have been challenging. We had a site in the water/electric area and the sites were all pull-through; our 35' RV and Jeep fit nicely. The view over the lake is stupendous. We visited the Dam Visitor Center, the Buffalo Bill Museums, drove the Beartooth Hwy and the Chief Joseph (which is more beautiful than the Beartooth) and the Heart Mt. Japanese Relocation Center. We also ate at Our Place for breakfast. All were great and I'd recommend all of these, along with the park. We'd definitely return. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

The best showers I've ever seen! Biking with a tent, and for $10 I've never been happier! No sharing of mirror or toilet. Local sheriff was out of this world! View awesome! We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Tent.Undo

Well situated with spectacular views. We got an electric/water site late in the afternoon without a reservation. Nice level sites with lots of room. The nature trail is not maintained and was impassable within about 200 yards. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This campground is ideal for those looking for a little more privacy and away from the hustle and bustle of town. We had site #4 at the North Shore, just 10 minutes from Cody, overlooking the reservoir. The sites are level with easy hook-ups. The only drawback to this location is there are no sewers, but they do have a dump station. The mountain views are great. The campsites are moderately maintained. Some weeds and lack of grooming, but overall clean. This location was one of our family favorites. Good location for bicycles and pets. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Park was open with pull thrus available. We had electric but the water was not on until May 16. Restrooms are pit toilets. Water in lake was extremely low. Unlimited supply of firewood available! Would stay here again. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Beautiful views. Not a lot of amenities, no showers (too bad) Very dark at night. Its like generic camping..electric and H2O only in our loop. Some loops don't have anything. Ranger Pat was wonderful, he guided us to some great activities in the area including a spectacular drive through the Big Horn basin! Don't miss the Buffalo Bill Museum. Theres an RV park in Cody but Buffalo Bill SP gives you more room. We would stay again if we could get another lake view site. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This park is gorgeous. We stayed on the reservoir, the view of canyons, the dam and lake are beautiful. Clean grounds and friendly staff. Good spacing between sites. The staff went out of their way to give us maps and suggestions for our entire adventure, not just In Cody. This is the best place we stayed in, the entire 16 day trip. You can swim in the lake, very refreshing and grab the driftwood for a perfect campfire. Cody's nightly rodeo is fun and family friendly, great first time rodeo show. This review is for North Fork Campground (by the river). Stayed here 2 nights. Views of the canyon/cliff walls were fantastic! Sites had electric and water hookups. There was a dump station by the entrance. The sights were all pull through - just little pullouts off campground road. Not many trees. Privacy was good; you weren't crammed in like many RV parks. Bathrooms decently clean, but had lots of bugs and poor ventilation. There was a little playground in the middle of park. Overall a solid campground with good location between Cody (10 minutes away) and Yellowstone (60 minutes away). Would stay here again, especially for the price. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Beautiful views of the canyon and river. Camp host was friendly and helpful. Campground was clean and well cared for. We had water and electricity. There are not many trees if you like a wooded area. Convenient to East gate of Yellowstone (about a 45 minute drive). We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $17.00
We stayed at North Shore. Loop B and C have no services. Loop A was full. Beautiful view of the mountains and lake. Very peaceful. No road noise noticable after dark when traffic stops. Sure beats staying in the city, especially if you are headed to Yellowstone. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Tent Trailer.Undo

Loved this campground. Wyoming State Parks have the most beautiful campsites around. We would have given this one a 10 if it really had a sewer like some of the posts said. There are no sewers only a dump station within the park. That being said, this park is very convenient to Cody. Cody is a great town with lots to do. Make sure and go to the Buffalo Bill Museum. Plan to spend at least one long day there. Can't wait to come back here again. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Motorhome.Undo
