Stayed for 5 nights and would stay here again. Plenty of nice grass between sites. A sidewalk on the door side of the RV. You can walk to the downtown area if you would like. Not far away. Sites where we were (premium pull through) , were plenty spacious. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of things to do in Cody. Rodeo every night. Bison steaks at the Chop & Rib House, Buffalo Jump Winery, only 50 miles away from Yellowstone. If you stay 50 or so miles away from Yellowstone the prices are much better. A beautiful drive to get to Yellowstone.

We have been here numerous times in the past and have always been happy as long as we were put in the newer section where we could get satellite reception and have a pull-through site. The older section is tight, mostly back-ins, and heavily treed. I was tempted to try one of the other area parks but this park's staffer told us that we were assured of a satellite friendly site as long as we got there before 3 P.M. So we got there by 3 P.M. and were assigned a tight, back-in site in the older section. While I was able to get roof satellite reception, the site was not acceptable for several other reasons: 1) the sewer was directly behind the asphalt RV pad meaning I had to crawl under the rear end of the RV to hook up to the sewer 2) the electric and cable connections were also behind the asphalt pad but over 10' to the right (It was a shared post with our neighbor and within just a few feet of their RV); and 3) at first, we couldn't even find the water faucet - it was under our neighbor's picnic table and, at most, 2" off the ground (I again had to lay on the ground to hook up!). In addition to being misled over the phone about what kind of site we were getting, the site we got had some of the worst and hardest to connect hook ups I have ever (25+ years of RVing and maybe 1,000 parks) encountered. As I have said in previous reviews, you need to get a site in the newer section of this park if you want ease of site entry, satellite reception, etc. The bath and laundry facilities are OK. The cable is about 30 channels and, like most parks today, their 802.11 network was useless in the evening once everybody got online. I saw no sign of recycling or recreational amenities. My low rating is for their devious customer relations and the poor quality site I was assigned. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.

This can be a nice RV park depending on which site they give you. We had reservations, but still got a site on asphalt with other rv's about two feet away from us. Our slide barely made it out. Thankfully I had two long water hoses and two sewer hoses or we would not have reached the hookups. There are some nice pull-through spots, but not sure who those go to? They also only except cash. We were next to the laundry room were everyone doing their laundry sat out side and smoked cigarettes. The most second hand smoke we have been around. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The park hosts were very nice. The park is centrally located in Cody and close to all points of interest. Only 3 blocks from the famous Buffalo Bill Center of the West (Allow 2 days to visit.) Our back-in site was level and very nicely shaded by large Cottonwoods. Utilities all worked well. Good voltage and water pressure. The WiFi, although the signal was strong, the throughput was spotty at best. Verizon signal in town was very steady. The cable reception was very good. My only "complaint" other than the spotty WiFi was that the back-in sites were pretty cramped and close together. But hey... you get to know your neighbors! We will stay here again in the future. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

After you get settled in your site, do go back up to the park office. The folks there have a wealth of knowledge of things to do and see in Cody. Great little town!

I have mixed feelings about this park. The staff was super friendly on check in. They don't take credit cards, so was able to pay by check.

The CG is clean as was the very nice laundry. Our pull-thru site was level and gravel. The sewer hook up was far to the back with the elec. being farther to the front, so unless you have a sewer hose extension, you must keep the MH farther back, so wouldn't be able to leave the toad attached if only staying one night.

Our pull-thru site was in the 2nd section and was nice since we were on the end with no neighbors on one side. The sites are fairly close, but manageable. The interior sites in the first section are like a can of sardines and very unappealing. I would not have wanted to stay there. The back-in sites along the perimeter were not bad unless it was a site that backs up to the road. Those would have been very noisy.

The WiFi was awful unless you sat at the laundry or near the office. It was really good there, but was awful at our site. Cable was good with plenty of channels.

We stayed at another CG last year that was cheaper, but a little farther away from the action. Not sure if being closer to town is worth the extra money for this park. Not sure I'd stay here again, but if so, it would only be in the 2nd section. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.

We camped here with our motorcycle and Aspen pop up camper.

Bring cash or a check, no plastic accepted! Make a reservation and make sure you arrive not later than 3:00 pm or they may give your site away. We talked to a few to whom that had happened although the management still worked them in.

Our site had nice shade from about noon until dark. This is a tourist area so the sites are compacted together to maximize income so don't plan on extending your awning. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Make a reservation and arrive by 3:00 pm.

We stayed overnight at this very popular RV park. The facility was great. The showers and bathrooms were very clean, provided privacy. The other guests were friendly and talkative. Would stay here again. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Truck Camper.

The folks here are very friendly and most helpful. The place is clean and orderly and most sites have well-grown trees.

The park is located two blocks from the Buffalo Bill museum, a two-day museum if ever there was one, fortunately the ticket is good for two days. The rodeo is a bit farther but there is a bus and the center of town is a LONG walk but do-able. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are more things to do in this small town than one would expect; The Buffalo Bill Museum of the West, the rodeo every night, the Irma Hotel (built by Cody) to name a few AND it's only 50 miles from Yellowstone (the world's first National Park).

We have stayed here several times even though you are packed in like sardines. Lots of shade and level sites, good cable and clean bath/showers. Made reservations months ago but made no difference, you have to take what is available when you arrive. There is lots of road noise. The staff are very friendly and will stay here again when visiting Cody. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in a FHU pull through site at Ponderosa Campground for one night to see the rodeo before going on to Yellowstone. The campground is very crowded and the sites are too close together. I could barely open the slide outs and didn't even attempt to open the awning. When I made the reservation I was told we could purchase tickets for the rodeo at the campground but when we got there we were told they could not sell them and we had to go into town to buy them. The TV worked well but we had to go to the lounge to get a WiFi connection. The showers and restroom facilities are clean and worked well. The town of Cody is a great place to visit with all of it's western attractions and charm. I would probably look for another campground if I were to revisit Cody, Wyoming again. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.

The park was very clean was close to everything. It was right by a major road but the noise wasn't bad. We used their laundry and it was nice. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The pads were concrete which makes it nice. We had a full hook up. Would stay again if we were traveling through. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a lot to do in Cody - we definitely would recommend the Buffalo Bill museum - it was fantastic. Plenty of places to eat! The Irma hotel was excellent and in the evening they have a gun fight there - lasts about 1 hour.

Park staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Campground is well maintained. Campsites are cement or paved, making leveling easy; grassy area with picnic table. Mature shade trees. Showers and restrooms are very clean. Laundry had eight washers, eight dryers, a sink, and three sort and fold tables. Good cable TV and Wi-Fi. We would definitely stay at this park again. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cassie's Restaurant, Buffalo Bill's Irma Hotel, Restaurant, Saloon, 52 miles to Yellowstone National Park East Entrance.

First time RVer. Large park, but well maintained. Office staff friendly and helpful. Level, gravel pull through. Facilities large and clean. Short one night stay. Our site was open and sunny, but many had trees. Some sites were concrete. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Can walk to Museum of the West (!), Irma's Hotel for dinner, and the Sunset Cafe next door for breakfast.

We planned to stay for two nights but ended up staying 3. This park is one of my favorites as it's close to Cody amenities and a good value, even at the regular rate. It's not a quiet park, being close to the highway, but the noise isn't that intrusive. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Buffalo Bill Museum is a must see. Downtown Cody has some activities and sights. A good place for families and yummy food.

We've been here several times before and this park meets our needs as long as we can get a site in the newer section with 30 or so pull-through sites in open area on the north side of the park. These sites are full hookups with cable TV. The 110 older sites in the rest of the park are back-ins and most appear to be very difficult to get into. The Wi-Fi network was OK. As others have mentioned, you can walk to the Cody Museum and most of downtown Cody is only another 15 minutes on foot. The bathrooms and laundry are near the office. They are old, but serviceable. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.
