Except for a handful of back in sites, most are FHU, pull through sites on fairly level gravel pads. The Wi-Fi was adequate for our minimal needs. There is a pool, a bathhouse, laundry facilities, and most sites appear to be satellite friendly. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very convenient to Cody and Yellowstone and one of the better ones in the area. Scenery is wonderful. We drove into Cody a few days - there's plenty to do. The pool is VERY small for the park and the hot tub was closed for repairs. We didn't eat at the restaurant; it seemed a bit pricey. The park itself was quiet, no noise from the bar or restaurant. The restrooms and laundry need some repairs and a good cleaning. We would definitely stay here again because of the convenience to Cody and Yellowstone. AT&T service worked great; we had to use our hot spot for Internet and to stream Netflix and such - not much over the air. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here in a big rig motor home in July 2018. All gravel park with beautiful surrounding scenery. Yellowstone east entrance is about 30 miles away with a beautiful drive on the way. Cody, Wy is about 17 miles east. Easy to get in/out of. Hook ups worked great. There was a wafting sewer smell occasionally, but the Shoshone river runs along the west side of the RV park and was gorgeous. The restaurant leaves something to be desired as the food was so-so and they were "out of steaks". Unthinkable for Wyoming! Further after being told they were out of steaks another table that appeared to be locals were told the same thing and then comp'd their entire meal, we received no such discount. There is a saloon on premises which was not rowdy or intrusive. All in all I would stay here again. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overpriced for only pool, hot tub & playground. Restaurant on site but expensive. No discount for RVers except at breakfast buffet. All gravel, no grass between sites. Sites somewhat level. No store, must drive 20 miles into Cody for groceries or any other supplies. No access to river, cannot hear river in campground. Picnic tables in bad repair. Fire rings consist of ring of rocks where can (and were) moved around. Cannot leave tow vehicle attached unless very small camper. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

OMGosh over priced compared to what? Around Yellowstone? I've been hearing over a hundred a night out the south gate and as high as $125 out the west gate. We are still the most reasonably priced RV park anywhere around Yellowstone Park. Yes we are gravel (we sit on the old river bed) and very level sites and free wifi and high desert so low humidity with very mild temps and all the mosquitos stay 33' below us by the river. 360* mountain views are a bonus. Our food is normally excellent and our prices are some of the lowest anywhere in the area. We know because we check. Ice cold beer and entertainment on Fri and Sat nights. Ron

Overall Rating:

Overall a nice park and a pleasant stay. The entire complex is gravel and not only includes RV sites but also cabins, rooms, and apartments. The park's west edge is next to the Shoshone river. There is some grass around the edge of the park and near the pool area where a pet can get off of the rocks. The park has a pool and hot tub, both clean and receive maintenance on a regular basis. The restaurant is just OK, our burgers came out as hockey pucks, the waitress offered to have it recooked but we decided not to wait. The wifi was very useable as was Verizon data service. Our site was level, big enough for our 40' coach, and had room for the towed at the rear. The restroom/showers were clean individual rooms in the shower house. We were here for 4 days while doing Yellowstone and would consider staying here again. The price seemed a higher than others in the area, but this park also has more amenities than the others. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very friendly & helpful staff!! Restrooms/shower were individual bathroom like home and were clean and showers were NOT coin/time controlled. View of mountain/hills was nice. Very convenient to E entrance to Yellowstone and Cody. Campground restaurant was surprisingly excellent. Only wish more trees in campground but not many trees anywhere in this basin. Thanks so much for staying with us. All of us here greatly appreciate it. And yes trees are nice but there are trade-offs. We're high desert so very low humidity and all the mosquitoes stay down by the river 33 below us. When you have lots of vegetation and green you also have humidity and bugs. I like our tradeoff and there are no trees to block your dish!! Ron

The site we were in was short, level and tight and was a gravel space with no grass around. But we were fortunate to get the last site in a crowded region. They went out of thier way to fit us in so no room to gripe on our part. Nice restaurant , bar and an awesome view of the river running adjacent to the park. Great folks who made sure we had a place to stop for the night. The pull through sites were full but looked nice! We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in a 25 ft TT. The sites are very close. The roads and sites are all thin layer of gravel that allows mud to form in rain. The manager is very nice; the electric, water, and sewer work just fine. There is a table at each site and a small ring of rocks for a fire, but I would fear being too close to neighbor to light a fire. There a no trees among the sites. The location is safe and does okay for visiting Yellowstone NP and Cody, WY. I would look for a better park to stay in since this is average and the cost is high for what you get. If I could not get into a better park, I would stay here again. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is 30 miles from East Gate at Yellowstone, NP. You can drive about one hour to Red Lodge, MT and drive the beautiful Beartooth Highway. The park is about 20 miles to Cody where you can see Buffalo Bill Cody Reservoir and tour dam. There is an old Frontier Town with buildings and wagons from the 1800's that have been relocated to the site. There is also the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum of the West.

Our sites are 35' wide and 60-65' long. we are in the big rig book and handle all the big rigs that don't fit in Yellowstone sites. We are high desert so 7" of rain annually means low humidity and no mosquitoes! Arguably the best summer weather in America. People are constantly amazed at our 50* temps at night and can sit out without being carried away by bugs! We are the closest full service RV park to the east gate of Yellowstone. We are a Good Sam park and our reps were just here inspecting our facility and informing us of the rates at other RV parks around Yellowstone so we know we are priced right for our location to the park and what we offer. We have the only heated pool and indoor hot tub in this entire 52 mi valley. clean restrooms and laundry and a 5 star chef! Free WIFI that works great. Ron

The staff is very pleasant. Power was great until there was a flooding rain.....certainly not their fault. We were by a horse pasture. Saw mule deer there almost daily. The food is good, but overpriced. Staff members walked our dogs for us. We paid them 10$/walk. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Do Buffalo Bill Dam.....short but worth it. Pack lunches. The food in the park is not that good and pricey. If you go into the national park be prepared to be gone 7-12 hours.

Roads and sites supposed to be gravel but is more dirt than gravel which becomes a dust storm when the wind blows or to mud when it rains. The staff was friendly, sites are spaced nicely, the restaurant/ saloon has a nice atmosphere and the food and service is excellent. The owner could greatly improve this facility and it's ratings by adding a lot of gravel to the roads and sites. We chose this campground because Wapiti was closer to Yellowstone than Cody but on the next trip, we'll drive the extra distance to stay out of the mud. We hauled in 12 truck loads of rock after you left and now it's much better and no mud. We haven't been accustomed to doing that as we have a box blade and can usually drag it around and reset the rock but we just had the worst winter in 100 yrs (144"!!) and had to buy a snow blade and that apparently ground and packed our gravel down so we replaced it as time allowed and RVs moved out so we could spread it on the sites. I'll know better next time we get a crazy bad winter. I think if you stay in Cody the next time you'll discover what a quiet peaceful gem we actually are in comparisson to the busy noisy city setting. Ron

While staying here we visited Yellowstone National Park which was about a 30 minute drive to the entrance, but the scenery and wildlife sightings made it seem shorter. We saw a bear one morning and and a huge herd of elk another day and this was outside the park.

We also visited Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody and it was really nice also.

Seven night stay. Well managed, clean, and convenient to Cody, Yellowstone, Sunlight Basin and Beartooth. Very nice and helpful lady manning front desk. Saw mule deer on the grounds, and largest herd of Elk (Wapiti) we had ever seen just across the highway. Buttes also visible from our window. It does get windy in this valley. This is a clean park with distant traffic noise, though very little at night.

Sites are wide, unshaded, near-level gravel in various lengths, separated by more gravel. Each site has a picnic table. Voltage is good. The gravel is thin in places which, in wet weather, become muddy.

Roads are gravel in good condition.

WiFi is strong; I measured 400.2 kB/s down. I needed to log in again every day. I really wish parks would follow the WPA2 standard.

Terrestrial broadcast TV: CBS, CW, PBS.

Laundry: 4 top-loaders ($2), 3 working dryers ($2). I was constantly bumping my head on the low woodwork above the dryers.

The showers are clean and private, but lack a place to sit while dressing.

Staff are friendly and helpful. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Really convenient location for east entrance of Yellowstone. Place has hotel, cabins and rv park. Restaurant (expensive) and bar on site. Did not venture to pool or hot tub since bathrooms were so dirty. Private bathroom/showers were very dirty and not from just a day or two of neglect. Very friendly staff. Good value at ppa rates since anything associated with Yellowstone is $$$. Lots of pull thru fhu sites 30/50 amp. Good gravel pads with picnic table and fire ring. Decided to do a last minute trip to Yellowstone, during prime visiting time, and this was the only place that has availability for our dates. Yes, it's a gravel parking lot with no charm whatsoever, but we didn't hang around our RV except to sleep in it. It's a great location between Cody and Yellowstone, if that's what you're looking for. We didn't use any amenities, but visually that playground for the kids has definitely seen some better days. Also, they have the worst wifi we have encountered in a long time. But like I said, we only parked our RV here to sleep in, and left all day. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.
