Even though overpriced, this KOA is very convenient to Devils Tower and you can easily hike the trails from the campground. The space between the sites was the best I have experienced at any KOA. The front desk help was quick and courteous. The utilities were well placed and worked well. I did not use the bathroom, shower room or pool. The only problem I had were the number of people who walked through my site. One kid even rode his bike around the picnic table. I don't suppose this was KOA's fault but in a way it was because there was no other easy route from the back of the facility to the swimming pool and store. I would stay here again. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

During the Sturgis Rally, and just before the rally, you will want to check in early because bikers pretty much take over the parking spaces. They are all very nice people, it's just that there are so many of them!

Location..location.. You can't beat the view! This is a big park with lots of everything. Mostly, of course, it offers proxomity to and excellent views of Devil's Tower. We stayed in a water and electric site. Everything worked well with the exception of the WiFi. Strong signal, no throughput. I think it's a function of being in a remote location and having to rely on satellite based internet service. Verizon worked well though, both voice and data. Our gravel site was level with no shade, but other sites did offer partial shade. I highly recommend reservations well in advance. Devil's Tower is a popular destination, and it's VERY cool, by the way. We would stay here again if we should find ourselves out this way. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Park is right outside the entrance to Devils Tower so you're paying for the convenience. You get a great view if the tower from anywhere in the park. Rate includes my VKR discount. Check-in was a monumental example of inefficiency. There were 3 KOA employees behind the desk but only one was open to check in guests. The other 2 stood around asking everyone who lined up if we accreditations but never did anything to speed up check-in! I joined a line of 4 campers waiting to check in during prime check in time (after 1 pm). And to make it worse, this is also the same place you line up to buy stamps, sign up for the wagon ride and pay for your store purchases. It's not clearly marked in the parking lot where to park while you're suffering thru check-in so when I finally got our assigned space, the parking lot had multiple rigs just trying to stay out if each other's way. Also, for the price we paid, we should've at least gotten a colored map with their campground rules. Instead, I was handed a faded photocopied map and no rules whatsoever. There's a nightly wagon ride for $6 per person. The Close Encounters movie is shown every night. Our 50 amp, full hookup pull thru was long and wide. Hookups are way in the back so your tow vehicle has to be parked up front. Internal roads are gravel and dusty. Sites are gravel with grass in between. Off leash dog park is very small. Everything in the camp store is way way over priced ($4 for one bottle of hard lemonade). It's my least favorite campground so far but they're conveniently located to see the tower so there isn't much choice. It's very family friendly with a pool and nice playground. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Motorhome.

Our 10 day stay here did not have a view of the tower and was 9 days too long. Even after repeated emails to the office and KOA customer service the poop container in the dog park was not emptied after 10 days. Unfortunately we were parked next to the dog park. The laundry room was disgusting and in disrepair. There is no posted speed limit so drivers and staff kick up dust all day. We would not stay here again. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Park advertises hay rides, a nightly movie, and a swimming pool, none of which was available. The rate is high and should have been reduced until amenities are available. Most KOAs don't allow dogs in buildings but I guess for the owner they make an exception. The showers were filthy and didn't appear to have been cleaned for some time. Office staff is great, in the face exorbitant pricing on ancillary items. We will not stay here again. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring your own booze, their pricing is outrageous.

Our site was an easy, level pull-through under a tree. While there are no fire rings at the sites, there are a few group rings that the campground hosts set up each night. Our site had one next door. Laundry facilities were in disrepair. Pool was in desperate need of cleaning with murky, greasy water. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The nightly showing of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" was really cool. Devils Tower was fun to walk around (paved trails).

The view of Devils Tower made this park a very special treat! The park itself was fine, nothing too fancy, but very comfortable and accommodating. The pool was already closed for the season, but we enjoyed the community campfire and then the nightly showing of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Very friendly staff and easy access to the National Monument. We would stay here again. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed her back in 2007 and gave this park a poor rating because of how the owners were charging premium rates for a mediocre park and not maintaining or updating the facilities. Now that the park has new owners, we decided to give the park a second chance. With the exception of the laundry being closed, the facilities and amenities were fine. We had a full hookup site with a good Wi-Fi connection. There is no cable TV, but many sites are satellite friendly. The park has a variety of site types. The 67 sites listed above are the RV sites - 2/3 are full hookup and the rest are W&E. There are also a dozen or so cabins and numbered tents sites plus an open overflow area for additional RVs and tenting. There were only about 30 RVs in the park the night we were there. I appreciated that they put customers in every other site making each site seem very spacious. The pool is small for a park of this size. There is also playground equipment and a recreational area with a volleyball net and a basketball hoop. There was no recycling that I could find. The price is high but I'm sure the new owners have a huge mortgage to pay off. The café was closed when we were there. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Motorhome.

Clean park and decent space between sites. Everything was as advertised except the nightly hay ride was not operational due to road wash-outs on the trail. Some sites have a blocked view of Devil's Tower due to trees. I made a reservation that claimed to have a great view of the tower. When I arrived, the host moved me to another site that ended up having a blocked view. The pool was operational but the gate was locked all day. I asked for the host to open it but they never came out. Wi-Fi is free, but average. It's often difficult to get enough bandwidth to browse popular websites, like Facebook. Price was KOA high. It's the only campground with services within close proximity to the Tower. Next time I may choose to camp somewhere else and then drive to DT, even if it is 30 or more miles out. The area is spectacular for a drive! We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Reserved a large pull-through with 50 amp. They tried to put me in a site that was too small and 30 amp. When I got a big site with 50 amp the power was bad so my surge protector detected a fault. After an hour of messing around it clicked on after the maintenance guy finally went and "checked on it". The water leaked underground and made a pond in just a few minutes. Avoid site 49!!! We did not use any amenities so no comment on them. We loved Devils Tower and the view but beware of the campground. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects KOA club discount. You couldn’t get any closer and not be in the National Monument as this KOA is located right at the entrance. Another typical KOA, gravel everywhere. We were treated to large gravel trucks spreading additional dusty gravel around the park roads both days we were here. The second day, the pool was drained for inexplicable reasons. No discount offered for the loss of this amenity either. The park Wi-Fi barely worked. The good news was that Verizon and AT&T both offered strong service. Having said all of the preceding, given that there is no other full service camping opportunity this close to the park, we would probably stay here again if we were to return. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Motorhome.

Great campground! Right next to the entrance of Devil’s Tower. Clean everything! Not just your usual office store, but gift shop and restaurant, too! I didn’t know this until after we checked in, but every night at 9PM they show the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, outside, under the stars with Devil’s Tower in the background. (as long as the weather is OK). They do not allow campfires at individual sites but they have two community campfires every evening. There are grills at every site which may be used for cooking. It also seems to me, that just about every site has a great view of Devil’s Tower. Internet service was not so good, but they tell you that right up front! We would camp here again. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this KOA due to it's proximity to Devils Tower. Literally right next to the gate. You can see Devils Tower Monument from most of the sites. The hosts(I think owners) were quite helpful and you could see they are proud of their business, we stayed in site 57, a back in water/electric site at the end of the row. It was extremely clean, grassy and much larger than typical KOA campground sites. Wifi could have been better but considering location it was adequate. The campground shows Third Encounters of the Third Kind nightly on the patio, we didn't go see it as we had a copy in our trailer. There were no fire pits on individual sites, but a nice community ring. We will definitely go back again if in the area. I highly recommend this KOA. Really a beautiful campground, you can even see it briefly in the Close Encounters movie. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Good Sam rate. This CG is the only place in town with amenities. That said, the staff has a collective attitude, kind of "take it or leave it." We stayed two nights after stopping briefly at another nearby CG. The morning we left to tour Devil's Tower the CG turned off the power to the section we stayed in and didn't bother to tell anyone in the section of the shutdown. When we asked about the reason all we got was attitude and pointing the finger at someone else. With temperature at near 100 and a crockpot supposed to be cooking during our absence, warning of the outage would have been a good thing. Oh, YES, it was a planned outage but they still didn't tell anyone. Okay, there aren't choices for a place to stay near Devil's Tower. What the CG does offer is okay and this time of the year it is busy with over-nighters. We didn't see any sites with sewer but there is a dump station available. The National Monument is awesome and there are trails around the base of the Tower worth hiking. The CG does show the movie which made the Tower famous. We probably won't be back. The CG probably rates a little higher but the staff attitude and conduct does nothing but lower the rating. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent two nights here, one of them being July 4th. They had a really cool fireworks celebration here on the 4th, I think for the whole area because there were a ton of people around outside the park. This KOA we were not escorted to our site, but we had a great view of the tower once we found it. The sites are a bit hard to figure out the numbers on for some of them. The pool was well used by us and they showed Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind the first night we were there outside. Very busy park. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Tent Trailer.
