I would rather pay more to have a well-maintained/managed park that had running water to the sites. Aside from no water hook-up (it is what it is at this in-between-time of year...), there was no camp host in May (during "off-season" when the onsite office is unmanned) to ensure new-comers had the bathroom and laundry door codes, make sure the same facilities were cleaned and serviced, and that campers followed the "rules" and respected the park. There was dog poop EVERYWHERE, and people parked on the grass with big horse trailers & RVs. At the time of our visit, the park was at over 50% capacity. Other suggested fixes: fill potholes in the roadways, trim tree branches (we got scrapes on our roof despite being careful), place dog stations around the property, clean the laundry room and bathrooms regularly, and have a guest packet with info upon check-in with Outdoor Rec. Incidentally, if you're rig is over 13' with A/C units, you will need to use the BX/commissary route or the last left exit past the Fam Camp sign from Gate 1, in order to avoid the low underpasses of 11'6'. Know that the train is very nearby and that various aircraft fly overhead, so you're not surprised by the disruption. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

I have stayed here before and loved the location - down in a little valley with big trees and wide open spaces. Great for walking a dog or just hiking. Sadly, the Air Force has decided it is not important to adequately staff the camp. Before, they had a full time employee who really cared and provided great service. She left earlier in the year. I was here a month and three times a week for a couple hours the base sent someone to sit in the camp office. I observed people pulling vehicles onto grassy areas and parking there. A strip of grass behind a pull thru row had been driven over so many times it was just dirt. I had a package mistakenly send USPS instead of UPS. I discovered the base mail service refuses to deliver mail to the FamCamp. The price is right. the service is terrible. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

Ignore reviews that say you can't go through the main gate. Our friends 40' motor home with tow vehicle made it through just fine. A nice quiet park with full hookups. We would stay here again. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A smaller campground with a mixture of sites. We got a site where the traveled level area was just big enough for the wheels of the 39 foot coach. We parked the car sideways in front. It was a back in site. They have some pull throughs that are longer and some back in sites that were a little longer. The sites are close together but there is a lot of open areas around the park. We were able to get WiFi at our site but we were told that the WiFi may or may not be available. Follow the directions on their web page and you will not have any issue using the main gate that is open 24 hours. Lots of fields to walk the dog. The sites need more gravel and some leveling. The price is right and the location is good. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

No internet in pull thru sites, last row, inside RV, limited internet outside. Pull thru sites are Jack & Jill set up & all gravel. They're close but not inches from ea. other like Edwards AFB. Back-ins have grass and a fair amount of space between ea. other. Trains run right next to the park and run throughout the day & night blowing their horn. Easy freeway access to I-80 & I-25. Strongly suggest you make a reservation. We were here a week and the park was always full by the end of each day. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Arrival-If your over 30' long you must use Gate 5-Commercial Truck entrance at I-25 exit #12/Central Ave. Gate 5 is only open M-F, 6am-6pm. If you use the main gate you will need all lanes to make it through the maze.

After arrival-For easy access to the main gate, use the road at back of the campground. Go under the RR crossing to access Randall Ave. Base gas station has diesel.

Major shopping & restaurants are on Dell Range Blvd, approx. 6.5 miles from RV park.

This could be such a great campground. It's nestled in a small canyon with lots of shade trees. But coming in you immediately see some long term RV's with outdoor appliances. There were also some ratty looking storage sheds. When you walk around the area you see a need for trash pickup. It's a nice base and there are antelope andgeese wandering around that provide great photo ops. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Rule number 1. Don't come to Cheyenne when frontier days are going on if you don't have reservations (didn't realize it was going on til we hit town). We were blessed in that they had setup extra "overflow" RV parking (a roped off field) so we found a place to stay. The campground seemed pretty well kept and , has a nice nature walk around it. The bugs were crazy, but that is not their fault! Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this campground passing through on our way to the Black Hills area. No major complaints with this park. Our site was large and level. Staff doesn't work there on the weekend so after reserving our campsite over the phone, we were told our name would be marked on the board with our site number. Check in was simple enough. Our only complaint is when I reserved with a credit card hold I was told our card would not be charged and to put the money in an envelope and leave at the office. Simple enough, but noticed a couple of days ago our card was also charged. I feel if staff had been working this type of situation wouldn't have occurred. We just arrived home from holidays so I am going to phone and have this problem fixed. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed overnight. Agree with the previous review that the military needs to crack down on "homesteaders". Staff was very friendly. Will return again. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is 5 minutes from downtown Cheyenne which is great. Also a nice base with new playgrounds, aquatic center, and lots of nice green space. We were between several campers that are living there. This creates a lived in look and different atmosphere. I wish the military would crack down on this. The grass needed cutting. We use military bases for over night pass throughs. This was extremely convenient, but not our favorite. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here while teaching some of our fine military personnel on base. The rate reflects winter rates with no water or sewer hookups available for the off-season. The electric worked well and the park was quiet (with the exception of the occasional train rolling through nearby. We had a long, wide pull-through spot that accommodated our 40 foot rig and toad quite nicely. Restrooms were fairly clean and convenient. The office was not open, but it was easy to find a spot (we shared the park with about half a dozen people) and payment by envelope was a breeze. This park would rate a 10 had the water been on and if possible to hook up the sewer. We would definitely stay here again. The Prawn Horn Antelope, Geese, Squirrels, and resident Great-Horned Owl were a nice addition. Be aware the bridges on base are low (about 11'6" so if you have a taller rig you will have to drive a bit out of the way to make it to the park. That said, it is still a great place to stay while in the area. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here while TDY (temporary deployment year). No water in winter, but the showers and restrooms are clean, bright and warm! I don't understand how people can complain about the facilities here: they were great. We found the site to be quiet, level and it had great power. I can see how it might get tight when full, but it has easy access and lots of room to drive through. I love that this famcamp is in a quiet, secluded location. Big bonus is the herd of antelope who are permanent residents. We have a 40+ foot rig and found the camp easy to maneuver. The sites are gravel and have "islands" of grass with small trees in places. This is a great famcamp on a beautiful, historic base. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

A pretty, wooded and private little FamCamp. We are here in the off-season, so no water or sewer available, but only $10 night. Our motor home comes equipped with big fresh and waste water tanks, so several days here would be no problem. Level gravel sites, some pull throughs for big rigs, brand new 50/30 amp pedestals. Close to the commissary and exchange, the gas station near Gate 1 is large and an easy in-and-out for our Class A gasser. The campground has a resident herd of antelope grazing among the sites- what fun to watch! We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

We were here for almost a month and enjoyed our stay. They were short-handed in the office, but we worked around it. We understand that they are going to "upgrade" the park, but I don't know what that means. The Missile Drive entrance is the best. The road to the park is unpaved and was a little rough. We walked a lot and the base is beautiful. We would stay here again. We camped at Crow Creek FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.
