We have stayed there twice now. They have some spots during the winter that have water. We found the management delightful and the park is quiet. It is a bit of a steep climb to get into the park, but that did not detract from staying there. We recommend it. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Great location, great potential but poorly managed or not managed at all! First appearance is old run down trailer park with a storage container facility and auto salvage yard. But if you go up the hill things do look better as there are shady RV sites. Mostly level, pull thrus are nice, back ins are tight, nice tent area but the pallet fence is very tacky looking! Rest rooms clean but run down and in need of repair. Common area clean. Laundry facility clean but poor ( washers don't spin well, dryers are slot machines.) Hope you don't mind self check in ( cash, check only) as the office hours are sporadic and seldom. Be sure to read all notes and reservations before choosing your site! Overall...overpriced!

Police were called out one night because a permanent resident was drunk and disorderly.. Next day the owner who lives on site stated that she saw the police and wondered why they were here but she did not come to investigate! As I stated earlier there is no one to manage the place and the owner appears to be incapable of running things. Desperately need a keeper here. Rules not enforced, kids and pets run wild. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Motorhome.

Very unlevel parking spaces. This is an older RV park with mature trees, nice, but it does have some low hanging branches. Our 5th wheel is 13.3 ft. and we could not use the pull thru so we had to back out of the space. Very overpriced for the park. We won't stay again, we will keep traveling until we find a better place. Lesson learned. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cash only basis-no credit cards accepted. Steep incline at the entrance. No cable. This is not the worst RV Park we've stayed at, but it's right near the top. Office is dirty and in disarray. No discount was offered. No information/pamphlets on nearby attractions was available at the office. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This campground is much nicer than the prior reviewers are saying. First of all, anyone who can't go up the mild little hill on the way in should stay out of the Western US and its mountains. If that hill is too much for you you're not going to like the Tetons or Idaho or Utah or Oregon and you certainly won't like Colorado! I picked a pull-through in the expensive row, which is the nicest, but getting level is definitely a problem. Owners were out of town but answered the phone on the second try. I didn't see much trash, or trashy people. It was a fine spot with beautiful mature cottonwood trees. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Motorhome.

Steep climb, sharp turns but manageable. Sites are close, fairly level. Park is quiet. Big negative is the trashy permanents. Why do RV parks allow trashy permanents? Why do permanents have to be trashy? Poor, I understand, but not trashy! We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed here overnight on our way through town. Nothing fancy but adequate. Lots of hunters in the area this time of year. Steep grade and sharp corner entering the park. Quiet and peaceful. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Motorhome.

When we got to this site we were not sure because of reviews. We had a great staff member you treated us two minutes after we arrived. It was perfect for a night when we wanted a safe place to be. It wasn't by lake or river and didn't pretend to be. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Motorhome.

The maintenance of the grounds was not great. The places to drain had broken lids. Looks like they have a lot of long term people staying there and and there seems to be no care taken to how they keep their sites.

We needed an overnight stay traveling through and it was quiet and fine for that. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Truck Camper.

This is a repeat stay for me. I landed in Gillette on my way through and remembered this campground was year round. At this point in the year, wanted to go with a "known" place and not take a chance that something else was not open. No one in office when I arrived around 4:15 PM, but I called the phone number and left a message. I decided to pick my own spot and took a pull-through in the "F" section as the "C" section didn't appear to have sewer. The owner found me before I could call back to say "I'm in such and such a spot...." Yes, the front part before you get to the office looks run down, and yes, the spots are very close together, and trees may or may not interfere with your slides. This park is in a "so so" area of Gillette, but I felt relatively safe. Cash or checks, no discount. The owner was unable to tell me the base rate "before" taxes (I had to google the taxes myself) so the rate I am showing is with taxes. Good for an overnight. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is in need of a little TLC but it has a good location for exploring Gillette and the surrounding areas. We had full hookups but the septic pipe didn't have a cap, just a rock sitting on top of it. Sites are gravel but ours was level both ways so a breeze to unhook and get setup. Spaces are pretty close together but with slides out on both sides there is still room for the picnic tables and to sit outside. Laundry room was clean, efficient and reasonably priced. The office has a small store with some supplies, ice and drinks. The woman in the office was friendly and very helpful. Most sites have shade to some degree - either morning or afternoon and our site had good shade until mid afternoon. There are shaded grassy areas around the perimeter of the park for tent camping. Adjacent to the park are nice lawns and walkways of the Campbell County Memorial Hospital. I was able to walk the dog in 'doggie type' areas then go for nice exercise walks around the hospital grounds and the neighborhood streets. We unwittingly arrived in the area at the beginning of the Sturgis Rally 75th Anniversary so we stayed in Gillette and drove day trips out to Devils Tower, Spearfish and the Black Hills which worked out very well. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

North of Gillette on Hwy 14, just passed the airport on the left side, there is a viewing area where one can look down into a vast open pit coal mine and watch the activities of a working mine. Watching those huge trucks come by filled with tons of coal is very interesting.

We were looking for a place to pull in and spend the night and were accommodated when we called from an hour away. Office personnel very busy but nice enough to change our site for us so we could remain hooked up in order to pull out first thing in the am. Basic needs met very nicely. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We were on our way to Yellowstone and made an overnight stop at this campground. There are several bad reviews about this park which concerned us, but we wanted full hookups and they had an available site. We found this campground is conveniently located and the owner was very cordial. The sites are pretty standard size for the area. They had full hookups and free WiFi (which worked very well per our three kids). The bathrooms were clean, and the showers were clean and had plenty of hot water. We were very happy that we were not deterred by the negative reviews. This campgrounds may not be for everyone (it is located in town and does not have anything for smaller children that we saw), but it worked well for us and we would stay there again. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Motorhome.

There are no discounted rates. Price is for a 50 amp full hook-up in the lower level front section and payable in cash or check only. Streets were asphalt and we were parked on gravel. Site was very narrow, so we could not extend our awning without touching the rig next to us. At the entrance to the park are a number of truck camper shells with cars parked in front of them. I am uncertain if they are part of this park or just an adjacent one. The map we were given was quite confusing and a number of the sites in our area were unmarked. The office personnel also seemed confused about this. Lots of permanents living in older rigs. We would avoid this one if possible, but would stay again in a pinch. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Motorhome.
