The sites are large pull thru and very wide. The sites are level and well maintained. Excellent utilities including very fast WiFi. Friendly staff and owners are great. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Small campground on the Platte River. RV sites are located on a rise above the river with tent camping below. Entire campground is gravel and does get dusty when conditions are dry (most of the year). Sites are level and utilities worked well. WiFi is great and we were able to stream Amazon Prime at any time of day. We had a pull through site with plenty of room for both our motor home & Jeep. One grocery store in town so we did most of our shopping in Casper which is 25 miles west on I-25. We had both Verizon and AT&T service. Owners/Managers are very nice and helpful. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

National Historic Trails Interpretive Center in Casper is worth spending time at. There is a 10 mile bike path in Casper along the North Platte River. Fort Laramie Historic Site is about 85 miles east of campground along with Oregon Trail Ruts site. We liked the pizza at Classic Cafe & Pizza in Glenrock (we had the Hawaiian & added garlic/onions).

Stopped at Platte River RV Campground for a little over a week in our 43'5th wheel. Sites are very large and wide. Our site had open view of the field and could see down to the river. Park is very clean and quiet. There is no highway noise. WIFI was incredible (fast enough for streaming). Owners are extremely nice and helpful. They also assist with parking all rigs. Late check in available with instructions on bulletin board if coming in after hours. Kayaking trips available directly from the campground. We were able to view lots of wildlife. Large grassy area for dry camping as well as dog walking area and a kids play area. Approx 20 miles to large town (Casper) if additional shopping needed outside of Glenrock area. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Natural Bridge was amazing. There are grocery, hardware and other stores located in Glenrock, but if needed, you can go into Casper for additional shopping.

Small, new park. Nice dog park and play area for kids. Nice walk to the river at the rear of the property. Our pull-through had soft soil and the rain didn't help. Our jacks pushed down about 6 to 8 inches and we had to move around to find a hard area. Plenty of open area to walk yourself and the dogs. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Some road noise. If you hear the siren at 10 PM, it's not a storm warning but the curfew hour for Glenrock. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Great stop! We dry camped down by river. Plenty of space and away from others. Pretty views, river, trees. Staff more than helpful and very frindly...even let us come in late and met us. One night....became 2 night stay. Dogs welcome. We visited downtown and Casper during our stay, which we stocked up on supplies. Recommend and we would stay again. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Newer park that is located right the river. We were there in the off season, but they do offer rafts for floating the river. No pool, wifi was average. Park is all gravel, with some long term residents. Not much to do in town, casper is also about 20 minutes away. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The park itself is sort of drab and bare, but it is only a couple of hundred yards to a pretty river. The utilities are all in great condition, but are not so conveniently placed if you don't want to unhitch. Also, my site was not even long enough to avoid unhitching, but the parking for my truck was plenty convenient, off to the side. Easy to get here from the interstate, and easy to navigate through the park. The rate is the PA rate plus taxes and a surcharge for credit card use. The little town is nice and quiet, and there are groceries about a mile or so away. Verizon is strong, and the wifi signal was really good, for an RV park. The customer service was outstanding. I would definitely return here. One annoying thing, the park is all dirt and gravel, and lots of tiny little pieces of gravel track into the RV, no matter how hard you try to avoid it. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed two days. The park is located in a great area of town. The owners were very nice and helpful. We did not use the bathrooms and there were no laundry facilities. This park would be excellent if they would pave the camping area. The wifi was average and tv was antenna on my trailer but worked well. I would not hesitate to stay again. The park by the river was wonderful. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town was small but the people were very friendly. The museum was excellent and the bone biddies were a joy to meet. You must do the museum and Ayers Bridge while you are in town.

Nice campground. It's associated with a storage facility so they do double duty. Power, water, WiFi were good. The river park wasn't so much. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

New RV park still being fully built-out. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Most of the units seemed to be permanent or long-term but most rigs were either new or well kept. The utility connections were clean and easy to connect. Fastest, strongest wifi signal I've ever encountered at an RV CG. Lots were a bit tight for our small 30' Class A but fine for a few days. Map shows 47 sites but some are dry camp. I estimated 30-35 with FHU or water & electric only. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

If you're a photographer, there are several cool junkyards down the road filled with lots of "targets of opportunity." Casper, WY is 20 miles down the road and has some good eats.

This is a CG in transition. Originally established to accommodate pipeline workers need for a place to live in RV's. Now open to the public the owners have much improved the facility, which includes a storage facility, and it is easy to access and offers most of the necessary things for a CG. Roads and sites are gravel and rough, not difficult to level. Group camping is available near the river. The CG offers kayak rentals and river tours. Wi-Fi was acceptable and cell phones okay. Not much local HDTV. 30 & 50 AMP sites available. Propane station was nearly completed while we were there. Quiet and pleasant place to stay, we would return if in the area. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
