This park is located near the small town of Glenrock, WY, about 20 miles east of Casper. The park driveways and site pads are gravel. The back portion of the property on the Platte River is for tent camping and feels like park land. We had a pull thru site with full hookups, 50amp electric. The free WiFi was reliable. There is one "fixed" bathroom and one shower plus a couple of porta-potties and porta-showers. We paid $39.96 per night. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

We decided to stay here based on other reviews. While we would like to have stayed in Casper, there really aren't any campgrounds I would consider staying at there based on reviews and all the nonsense that goes on in Casper. This place was easy to get to off the interstate. The owners are great people who keep this place clean and make it a pleasant place to stay. The grounds are very clean and better than average space between campers. We were in a long pull thru so we didn't have to unhook. Hook ups were like new and worked great. There are some long term folks there but no issues with them and no junk piled around like you sometimes see with long term. Will stay here again for sure. Make a reservation as they stay pretty full. One of the owners, also allowed us early check in since the site was open. $35 was the pay in cash price. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

They are a Passport America Park, we called for a site and were told they only had 1 site left it was a premium site and there was no discount. We were told we would have a private yard which ended up facing the ATV dealer on the property and next to the owners house with another so called premium site very close next to us. We stayed for 4 days and there were always at least 4 sites open in the main section were we could have used Passport. Its not a bad park there is river access and the park mostly sand, gravel, and grass is well kept. The owners were very nice to us, we are not sure if the office help has incentives to sell the "premium" sites we just didnt appreciate being steered to a more expensive site when half price sites were available considering the premium sites are not any better than the main park. The WIFI was weak, I couldnt connect my wife was able too, there is antenna TV. We would stay again only at Passport rates. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The owners seem to allow washing your vehicle be sure to ask. I wouldnt recommend doing so the water leaves white spots that are very hard to get off paint I had to use a mild scratch remover to get them off the clear coat.

Since we stayed on the Passport America price I felt it was OK for the value. Staff was awesome - very helpful. Led us to the site - easy to get in with our 43' motor home. River was a short walk away - dog loved it! The only real issue we had were the awful mosquitoes - couldn't walk out the door without getting eaten alive - not the parks fault but none the less impacted our enjoyment of the camp ground and river. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

To start your in a prime campsite with a large yard is their front yard. The large yard is an unmowed weed fest. No shade. The showers are small and dirty. The dog yard and children's play area are unkeep with no shade. They ride their 4 wheelers all over with no care for the children playing. They also limit your water use. We left $300 behind to leave this park. Not worth the bug bites and dust. That's all we got from this park. The owners are off the charts crazy. Host who greeted us and guided us to our spot was very courteous and professional. Park has no shade. A few saplings have been planted but it will be years before they provide shade. Infrastructure appears very new. Office and showers are in pre mfg housing. Located in a beautiful location with views of bluffs and river. Park is right next to North Platte River. Because of recent rain, it's running high and wide. The host warned us about mosquitoes and was she correct! Yikes! Make sure you have repellent. Water pressure in the morning was poor. I could never locate the server for wifi. I was able to get on internet because Verizon had 3 bars. An ok place for one night stay. Sites are gravel and level. This was a good overnight stop for us. With the suggestion of the office staff, we took exit 165 from I-25 and avoided going through the town. The sites are spacious and easy to access. We were led to our site by staff. Although it was mentioned at check-in, there are showers in portable buildings that are seem to be clean and fairly spacious. The sites closest to the river seem to be primitive camping. FHU sites are a short walk from the river. There was a train across the river, but we didn't hear it until we were outside. All in all, this is a good place to stop. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

We have family in Casper, so we decided to try a couple of different parks. This one is 20 miles east of Casper with relatively easy access from I-25. Staff were friendly and helpful. Interior roads are all gravel and we were able to maneuver a big rig without issue. There was some mud in the park after recent storms, but maintenance staff was spreading fresh gravel and grading periodically. Sites were well sized at 90-degree angles, gravel, and pretty level. Power was good, WiFi was excellent (but unsecured), DirecTV and OTA were good, and Verizon was surprisingly strong for a rural setting. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed just one night and site was long enough that we did not need to unhook. Operators are very helpful in every way. We wanted to do a bit of hiking and they were very knowledgeable about the local area. We enjoyed a quiet night's sleep in this rural setting. We took a half mile hike to a rock that had names of pioneers carved into it dating back to the early 1800s. Kit Carson camped here along the Oregon Trail.

This park would have been adequate if I did not have such a bad experience with the owner's huge Doberman knocking me down. It was OK for a one night stay during ordinary circumstances. For the amount of land, the dog park was very small, and there were few trash cans for dog waste. All I can say is beware of dog if you come here. Nightly rate based on PA-discount. This park deserves more good reviews. The friendly owners helped us by phone to navigate thru town because GPS coordinates were not reliable. They also guided us to our camping-spot. Due to bad weather we needed a brake from driving the big rig and stayed 2 nights. Utilities worked fine during freezing temperatures and they were properly located. Nice walking-trails along the river and during Summer there should be plenty of fun for kids to play/swim around. Stopped at Platte River RV Campground for a little over a week in our 43'5th wheel. Sites are very large and wide. Our site had open view of the field and could see down to the river. Park is very clean and quiet. There is no highway noise. WIFI was incredible (fast enough for streaming). Owners are extremely nice and helpful. They also assist with parking all rigs. Late check in available with instructions on bulletin board if coming in after hours. Kayaking trips available directly from the campground. We were able to view lots of wildlife. Large grassy area for dry camping as well as dog walking area and a kids play area. Approx 20 miles to large town (Casper) if additional shopping needed outside of Glenrock area. Small campground on the Platte River. RV sites are located on a rise above the river with tent camping below. Entire campground is gravel and does get dusty when conditions are dry (most of the year). Sites are level and utilities worked well. WiFi is great and we were able to stream Amazon Prime at any time of day. We had a pull through site with plenty of room for both our motor home & Jeep. One grocery store in town so we did most of our shopping in Casper which is 25 miles west on I-25. We had both Verizon and AT&T service. Owners/Managers are very nice and helpful. National Historic Trails Interpretive Center in Casper is worth spending time at. There is a 10 mile bike path in Casper along the North Platte River. Fort Laramie Historic Site is about 85 miles east of campground along with Oregon Trail Ruts site. We liked the pizza at Classic Cafe & Pizza in Glenrock (we had the Hawaiian & added garlic/onions).
