We loved this campground. Beautiful pine trees and spacious sites with great proximity to everything we wanted to see in Grand Teton National Park. Our site was a full hookup pull-through site on the P aisle. This aisle is especially nice because it's near the edge of the campground so not much traffic and right across the road from the beach. The campground is located on lovely Jackson Lake at the base of the Tetons. There's a marina, restaurants, large laundromat, and very well-stocked general store all within walking distance. There were bathrooms every few aisles but shower house was at general store. Wish there was better WiFi/internet but otherwise an awesome campground. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved putting our kayak in peaceful, lovely String Lake. Not a big lake, but very pretty, quiet kayaking.

The sites are very sloped. I had to put block under the rear levelers on one side and the tires on that side were not touching the ground. The front was so low I could not have the feet extended. Other people complained about the slope. One person couldn't get the motorcycle out of his toy hauler due to the steep ramp caused the motorcycle to high center. The sewer connection was higher that my connection on the 5th wheel. It was about 2 feet higher than the site pad. Had to walk the hose to get it drained. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

As we were there the last week they would be open, the store had bare shelves, the coffee shop was closed. The restaurant was open.

Visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton.

Park is in a forest, sites are dirt, easy to navigate, and utilities are in good condition. The staff was great and there is a store, restaurant and gas station. We would stay here again so consider my comments as suggestions, but they are concerns. First, for the price, they should place wifi extenders throughout the park. We wanted to do research on the places in the park so we could plan each day, but you have to drive to the store or a Visitors center to get wifi. Second, this is bear country and they go out of their way to warn you about bears, garbage etc. Yet, they do not have bear proof garbage boxes. While the recycling containers are all bear proof, the garbage container (big brown garbage box) did not even have a lock or handle on the door. Their was garbage available to the bears on any night. The setting is great, but we don't spend a lot of time in the campground. We stayed in a travel trailer. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like wildlife, go drive the Moose Wilson road. Best viewing time is early in the morning but you can see bears often during the day. You cannot stop on this road, so drive as slow as possible and look to each side. There is a Ranger led tour for up to 10 cars each night. Very informative and educational. Best advice for Grand Tetons, this is not Disneyland so animals do not show up at preset times; can't tell you how many times people commented on this.

Site A18, a long shaded pull through. $63 w/ FHU. NOT LEVEL at all. Used every block I had, but still not level. Most sites looked a little better, but lots of leveling blocks in use. Odd sewer connection location, but made it work, sewer connection was up hill! Very tight roads. No Wifi, OTA, or any cell. Marginal Wifi at store/laundromat. Good laundromat. Showers much too expensive, didn't use. Store/deli surprisingly good and no outrageously expensive, even had drinkable wine available. Spectacular scenery everywhere. Also, lots of traffic, despite being mid-September. Tried to get into the Gros Ventre campground, but no space at all on a weekday in mid-Sept! Don't believe the website! Rangers said they are sold out every night for 30+ foot sites all year. Colter Bay Campground sites looked really tight; didn't see any big rigs in there at all. It was also packed. A couple of rangers commented about rapidly growing demand due to huge increase in RV sales over the last couple of years. Make reservations, especially if you are over 35'. Avoid A-loop sites if you can, the maneuvering is a challenge. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Jaw-dropping beautiful area with unlimited photo ops everywhere you look. The National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson is excellent. Jackson has lots of shops restaurants, and services. Don't buy fuel or gas at the Chevron on the north side of town; it is much, much cheaper elsewhere.

Great big rig friendly RV park in a National park. Sites are very long, most level but some are not so be prepared for that. Convent to lake, showers, restaurant and store where the prices were not totally crazy. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Location, location, location! This is the location for exploring the Northern end of GTNP with a full hook up. However, when I look out the windows it looks like a huge used RV/truck lot with lots of tall pine trees. I mean lots of pines. Gouges in the trees that border the roads so you better be good at navigating tight quarters. We did see lots of tag axels big boys in there so it can be done. No Sprint and no satellite TV. There is WIFI and we found the faster connection at the cabin rental office vs. the grocery store. Our dirt/pine needle site was level enough and long enough so no problem there. It sprinkled one morning and was a mess with lots of tracking in of pine bits even though we take our shoes off. No campfires allowed in the full hook up section. The grocery store was really well stocked and convenient although expensive. The gift shop next door was nice and had a good selection of goodies. They do charge resort prices for the luxury of being here with a no frills campground other than a full hook up and an amazing location. The Aspens seemed to start showing their golden fall colors overnight while we were here.....stunning! Wonderful, centrally located, beautiful spot. Full hook-ups and access to 2 National Parks, lakes and the Snake River. Our site was awesome. Not too crowded, only slightly off level. Big pine trees, nice table, adequate road space. We did see people towing very long trailers and they were able to get parked and level. There are some tight sites that are not level but they seemed to be few. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

This is such a nice park. Pull thrus with room between sites. Very convenient to everything in the Grand Tetons. We also use this as our base for Yellowstone as well as we prefer it to the Fishing Bridge RV campground in that park. Driving distances around the parks are not too different. We like that we can walk to the lake and to the village from this campground. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

This campground is terrific. There are a lot of trees, many hiking trails, and plenty of eating and shopping opportunities. (My dog gives it a 10 for interesting places to walk, quality of the smells, etc.). The dirt campsight was a bit unlevel side to side & front to back. Our large camping mat helped keep the dirt outside. I only unhooked to go sightseeing, NOT because of any site limitations. We only had 4 days here due to time restraints, but we want to come back for a longer stay next year. We had dinner at Jackson Lodge (Mural Room), about 12 min drive from the campground. The food was excellent, and the environment and service were top notch. Make reservations ahead of your visit. Rent a kayak at the Colter Bay Marina. There are plenty of things to see and do on the Grand Teton NPS website: https://www.nps.gov/grte/index.htm I also recommend getting the free app, "NPS Grand Teton National Park" as it is very useful in planning your trip to this area.

This review is for the full hookups RV park. Worst RV park I have ever stayed at in my 20 years of RVing. While the camp host was great and the hiking, swimming, and views were fantastic that's it. The sites are way way off level, had to use several blocks and my axles were off the ground to get it level. When it rains which it normally does in the afternoon your site will become a muddy mess and the tree sap and other droppings will get all over you rig. The roads in and around to the sites are very tight for big rigs, we stayed in our 40' 5th wheel. Trees had to be trimmed to get us into our site and on the way out while my fault I hit a tree with the very rear of our trailer while trying to navigate out of our site causing a few thousand dollars in damage. You have been warned, this is a very old park not setup for the rigs of today, do yourself a favor and avoid this place if you have a class A or big 5th wheel. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Location, location, location! While the RV park has some issues (low branches, sites not level, poor cell reception even with a booster), the location makes up for it. This is the only FHU option in the park and it's right in the middle of everything. There are great hiking trails right from Colter Bay and lots of other hiking and bike trails a short drive away. Rate includes discount for Interagency Senior Pass. Site was pull-thru; gravel pad; FHU with 50 amps. The site was not level. Verizon reception was weak at the campground. Trees prevented DishTV satellite reception. The park was quiet at night. The rate is high and the campground is a bit rough, but that is not unusual for a National Park. We would stay here again. The area surrounding this park is beautiful. However, the RV park itself is terrible. Do you like navigating very tight roads and getting into your site? Do you like trees hitting and scratching your coach? Do you like sites where you can't level your coach? Do you like mud around your coach when it rains? Do you like seeing only trees (approx. 1 foot from a slide) or other RVs? If you like the above, then this park is for you. And, hadn't realized that there was basically no cell service (Verizon) for phone calls or internet use. Very disappointing for such a beautiful area. The only reason to go here is that it is in the middle of the Teton National Park, and that makes it one of my favorites. Yes the sites are not level, it is always completely full, the bathrooms are old and not cleaned regularly, no cell coverage, no satellite reception, and I think overpriced. We were lucky to get a site near the bottom of the hill with a good view of Jackson lake with the Teton mountains looming just on the other side. The have a very thorough briefing when you check in about bear precautions, and then the dumpster nearest me did not close completely. We were part of a group and the rate may have a group discount. The sites are pretty narrow and unlevel but the entire area has tall trees which was nice. There is no cell (AT&T) and wifi only at the store or laundry room. We went to Signal Mountain for the view and wound up taking care of all our internet needs (email, banking, etc.) in the parking lot there! The campground itself is not that interesting because it is so densely packed but there is a lot to do if you don't feel like driving anywhere. The Lakeside Trail is very scenic and perfect after a long day of driving. The ranger talk at the Visitor Center was very good but we had schedule conflicts with the ranger-led hikes, which was a disappointment. This place is not dog-friendly at all. There is a short stretch of concrete between the marina and the Visitor Center where you are allowed to walk your dog. With all the property they have, it seems they could carve out a fenced-in dog park. It was impossible to get our dogs enough exercise while we were there. A ranger told me we could let our dogs off leash on any open gravel road but she also said bears could be a problem. Tips for other Campers:

Apparently, Dornan's in Moose is a local institution. The deli sandwiches are outstanding. Breakfast...not so much. The National Museum of Wildlife Art is nice for a bad weather day, and the current exhibit (through August 2018) is exceptional. It is a photographic study of the migration of Yellowstone ungulates.
