What a relief to find a spacious campground after the sardine packed Fishing Bridge Campground in Yellowstone! We should have booked a full week, then take day trips into Yellowstone National Park. The reservation/check in ladies were extremely nice and assured us that our campsite would indeed be spacious...it was! Next trip, I will take my own advice. Extremely well run campground. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Would have rated higher but our site was nearly impossible to level and almost touching a dumpster. Beautiful setting though at Colter Bay in Grand Teton NP. No wifi, phone, cell service and no satellite because of trees. Slow wifi at store and restaurants. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

While the rate reflects a senior pass discount, it is still quite expensive. Considering the alternatives, though, we didn't complain. The location is exceptionally convenient to both Teton and Yellowstone Parks, Jackson, and other points. We saw very few sites, all pullthroughs, that were level, and we had to jockey around in our site to get close enough to level to avoid blocking up and rely only on our automatic levelers. There are convenient short trails from the campground to the lake (we were only about 1/2 block from the lake,) the visitor center, stores and laundry facilities. Trash is picked up daily from convenient dumpster sites. We were there during the Berry Fire, and were told if we were bothered by the smoke or fire, we could leave and get a refund of unused nights. We weren't bothered, and stayed for our full 10 nights. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Grocery store, gas station, Starbucks, gift store, restaurants, laundry and visitor center in the village. Prices for necessities e.g. eggs and gas/diesel are reasonable, for luxuries e.g. candy, prices are very high.

Many campsites are on a slope and are seriously rutted, making it difficult to impossible to level your RV. Even so, we enjoyed the rustic camping ambiance with sites tucked among the fir trees. The camp's location made it easy to get to most sights in the middle-to-northern end of the Park. The campground has private separation while still being conveniently adjacent to the Visitor Center, restaurant, marina, grocery store and activities center. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

$59/night reflects a back-in spot; pull-through is $69. For that price, you should at least get a free shower and not have to pay $4.25. The park is nice, clean, and quiet for the most part. The bathrooms were clean. Lots of shade, very close to the Jackson Lake beach and hiking trails. And you are right in the Grand Teton NP. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Access Roads are asphalt and interior roads are dirt/gravel and easy to navigate. Sites are shady pull-thru with level gravel pads, very good spacing and utilities placed well. The picnic tables are a bit older. No WiFi in the CG but they do have it at the dining and shopping areas. Verizon looked like 1-2 bars 3G. Check-in was a breeze and the staff are nice and friendly. They have bear-proof recycle containers (not co-mingled, so you must separate your recycle) and bear-proof trash bins. Noise is non-existent and security is good. The CG is very close to Jackson Lake on the north end on the park. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Third visit to Grand Teton National Park. One of our favorite national parks.

This park is wonderful. The first thing to greet us was the awesome smell of the pine trees. We were here for a week, and found it close to most everything. It was about 40 minutes from Jackson, but close to Jenny Lake and numerous spots for viewing the amazing Teton Mountains. It is not far from the South Entrance to Yellowstone. We drove up to DuBois, a must see drive. There is a village right outside the park with General Store, Visitor's Center, Gift Shop, Laundry, and access to Jackson Lake. There are also two restaurants, but we didn't try either. We camped at Colter Bay Village Campground. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We only spent one day in Jackson. Lots and lots of shops and grocery stores. Only a K-Mart. Many of the restaurants close at 3 p.m. and don't open again until 5:30 for dinner. We ate at Bubba's BBQ, and it was very good. They have a huge salad bar and good sandwiches. Otherwise, we ate at our RV or in Yellowstone. About 45 minutes to Old Faithful with stops at Lewis Falls and Keppler Cascades.

We have stayed at over 70 RV parks and this is the first time we have tried one inside a National Park. They are not usually accommodating to a 43 foot rig and tow. This place was! We considered staying at The Virginian in Jackson and actually checked it out during our stay. It was just O.K. and we think Colter Bay was the better choice, especially with its location right in the middle of all the action. Check in was fine and the staff was very friendly. Roads and sites are tight but manageable if you take your time and are careful. Roads are paved and sites are hard packed dirt and most are not level. Our site was fairly level front to back but tipped to the passenger side quite a bit. First time the rear passenger tire lifted off the ground after leveling. Our site, L93, was tight getting in and out of but once positioned, was actually quite spacious. Utilities worked fine. No WiFi, cable or over the air. We couldn't get cell service from our site so we couldn't even fire up the JetPack. We were able to get satellite with our Tailgator, but it took a lot of work finding the right location, which ended up being on the roof of our Jeep! Restrooms were very clean. The RV park is an easy walk to the Village with all the guest services you'd expect. No open fires, not even propane fire pits. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We had mail delivered and it ended up at the Cabins office instead of the RV office. Colter Bay Marina offers a beautiful view of Jackson Lake Bay and the Tetons in the background. Drinks on the back patio of the Jackson Lake Lodge offers a fantastic view of the lake and Tetons. The iconic photo on the front of the "newspaper" they give you when you enter the park was taken on Mormon Row.

This was our second time staying here. They are very strict about not checking in before noon. Even if you arrive just 5 minutes early, they will send you to park in the general store and marina area. This gets very confusing and congested when it is crowded, which is all the time. Waiting to get checked in is also crowded as their parking space is limited. That said, they are helpful and pleasant.

The roads in the campground are wide enough but there are many trees and manuevering into the sites can be tight. Sites are adequate, but could be a bit longer. Sites are gravel and adequately spaced but not spacious. Our site wasn't level but not too bad.

Walking to the marina, stores, restaurant and beach area is easy and pleasant. Our friends saw a bear in the woods on their nightly walk, so be bear aware. Mosquitoes are terrible in the evening!!! The Tetons are not to be missed; they are beautiful and awe inspiring. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not get there early. You will have to wait and it is a congested madhouse with the crowds. Easier to arrive mid-afternoon and have an easy time checking in. Some sites are easier to get into then others. Location is great for touring around the Tetons. Take the raft trip; the guides are great and very informative. Didn't see much wildlife on the river though, but the Snake was a beautiful river to float.

For big rigs this is the place to stay in the Grand Tetons. We stayed three nights and enjoyed it. The sites are not the most spacious and there are no fire rings, but the location is ideal. We also enjoyed all the services within walking distance. The NPS does a good job with having a lot of services at the camp resorts. (Nightly stops to the shops start to add up.) The views of the Tetons, which are within walking distance, and even had a grizzly bear ramble through the park, which surprised me with all the activity and campers. Would stay again for sure. We thoroughly enjoyed camping here especially because it is centrally located inside Grand Teton NP, making everything accessible. Yes, there are a lot of RVs in close proximity, but the combination of all the trees and the way they arrange the spots "stadium seating" style, it doesn't feel cramped. Clear and cold Jackson Lake with lots of space to swim and lounge is only a short walk from the campground.

We had no cell coverage (AT&T) at the campground or the park. However, there is (free) wifi in the general store and laundromat which is close to the campground. Satellite could not be used due to the tree cover. Camp fires are not allowed and everything must be stored away each night due to bears in the area.

We stayed 4 nights in site N100. We would love to return. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Take an early morning drive all the way down Moose-Wilson Road and you should see lots of moose, elk, and deer. Then head down Mormon Row to catch the famous Moulton Barn. Hit the scenic overlooks in both early morning and late evening sun since they look different in each.

We stayed here for a week while visiting Grand Teton National Park. I loved that there are trees and it has more of a campground feel than an RV park. I had read that there is no Verizon coverage, but we actually had 4G. There is a grocery store, a couple of restaurants and the Colter Bay Visitor Center all within walking distance from the RV sites.
