This is a full hookup site in the heart of Grand Teton NP, price reflects that. With our access pass it was $59 per night, not half price. Sites are on a terraced hill and erosion can make them difficult to level on. But they are big enough pull-thrus for a good size RV and toad. Short distance away is a "village" with shops, food and wifi. Ate at the Chuckwagon restaurant; decent food, but dinner for two was $70. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park in the Grand Teton National Park. Staff was very nice and our reservations were in order. The sites are not level and they were very difficult to get into. The trees are very close together making it difficult to set up to allow the slides to come open. We were not able to open our canopy because of the trees and limbs. There is NO internet service in the RV park and very limited cell service. Colter Bay Village does offer some "Hot Spots" but it is not convenient to get this service. A grocery store, gift shops, visitor's center, restaurant, horse back riding, boat rental and other activities are all available. Great walking trails and we were close to the Lake. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Lovely staff and very helfull. The Wifi was great at the store and restaurant. AT&T wasn't so good at times. The grounds were dirt so we put out our mat. If we ever come this way we would use the them again even though they are very expensive. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

While the price was rediculous, our particular site was gorgeous. We were on the end of a row and had a huge treed area. The location in the park was great. It's a bit removed from the Jenny Lake area which is the hub of the park, but not annoyingly so. The grocery is very reasonably priced for a park run store. The laundry is great. we'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

We used our National Park Pass for a discount. Great location in Grand Tetons. The campsite is rustic; dirt sites, a picnic table, and towering trees, which I think most people would expect camping in a National Park, and it took a bit to level. There are plumbed toilets but no showers, however, nearby there are showers for $4.50. Also nearby there is a grocery store that has good prices and selection, nice gift shop, laundromat, showers, a visitor center, restaurant, and the marina. There is no over air TV or WiFi and Verizon and AT&T did not work at the campground. Throughout the Grand Tetons one can sometimes get a Verizon signal. There are bear boxes to store food goods throughout the campground. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Nicely located campground. Sites are level front to back, but side to side needs some work. I needed 6 inches of leveling boards to get level. Other than that it was great. Short walk to the lake and the "Village" area. The General store has decent WiFi, and lots of good shopping along with a small food store with a good array of food. Tips for other Campers:

The Lake is great and clean. We kayaked it and it was great. Any kayak, canoe 10feet and longer needs a permit. Watch for bears! We saw 2 when we were there. One in the campground, and one in the peninsula. Take the scenic road to Jackson Hole and take the lift to the top of the mountain.

On the positive: Campground is conveniently located near the lake and hiking trails. Nice wooded campground. On the negative: Price is reflective of location, not amenities. Spots are close and we found it very difficult to get level. Had to ask a neighboring camper to move his pickup so we could leave on day of departure. No showers in the campground but public showers are located in Colter Bay Village and are $4.50 per person. No Wifi, cell or cable service. Neighbors did not recognize 11:00 pm quite time, but that is not necessarily the park's fault. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Great place from which to explore the park. Very quiet and beautiful setting in the woods near the lake. Nice hiking trails around the lake. Site required blocks to level and hookups all worked well. There is no cable or WiFi and no Verizon service. There is WiFi at the restaurant within walking distance. Tree branches are impossible to miss both from the top and sides in most every site. Some branch issues on roads too. So keep looking up if your in a 12 foot +/- rig. Reasonably level sites. Sewer was upslope. Other wise a good campground given its age and who runs it. Staff not pleasant or helpful. Were able to make and receive cell calls from our site. Signal is weak anywhere you go. Very good grocery store given location, full fuel service and prices are same as NorCal. Surprised us! Don't eat at Colter restaurant. The grill is better except for the pizza.. skip it. Tips for other Campers:

You know why you are in Grand Teaton. Go to the Jackson Lake Lodge. Great food and views. Has a business center plus good cell and wi-fi, just slooooow. Tell them where you are staying and the will give you the door code. Five computers. Food there is very good. SB, it's a 5star resort. Drive to top of signal mountain for fantastic views. Also Jenny Lake Lodge. We did eat there but clearly an upscale small Lodge feel and very good menu.

This is one of the more expensive site we've stayed. With tax it was $76 a night, but Colter Bay was worth the visit. The upside: the camp ground is spacious. Excellent pull through and roomy on both sides with plenty of shade. Full-hookup made the trip worry-free for a longer stay. The downside: unleveled, and not just a little bit. It required one side of my trailer to use stacks of 4 yellow blocks. There is a picnic table, but camp fire not allowed, hanging clothes not allowed, as our neighbors received lengthy warnings from the ground keepers, but their concerns are understandable as most people respectfully obeyed. I'd recommend bringing your bike, makes going around faster, even though the village is close enough to walk. Customer service over the phone was friendly and competent. We were one day late to our arrival date. To avoid "no show" and risk having the entire reservations cancelled as their policy stated, we called. Glad to have found that they wouldn't do such unless they call you the day after you haven't shown, to make sure you are definitely not coming before they cancel. We arrived the next next night, found our name and assigned site information on the late arrival board after the office is closed. We would definitely visit again. Tips for other Campers:

Bring a bike to go around faster. General store, laundry facility, visitor center, the marina and gift shops are cluster together. Rent a kayak, canoe, motor boat, or go on the scenic boat cruise that takes you close to the foot of the mountain at the marina. Go on a beautiful hike on the Hermitage Point trailhead next to marina that hugs the lake. Look for wild life around Colter Bay, which is the most abundant in the entire Grand Teton Park.

Really nice sites for a national park. Very spacious and shady. Only disappointment is that campfires were not allowed. There is a nice lake just a short walk away and many people were enjoying the beach and water. WiFi is available if you go to one of the hotspots in Colter Bay Village. This is not a destination campground where they provide entertainment. The RV park is a few minute walk from the beautiful Jackson Lake. There are hiking trails, wildlife, some of the greatest mountain views anywhere. It is 40 minutes to Jackson. We stayed here 7 nights this time, still not enough time. Make your reservations early, they fill up months ahead. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Take in the area. Sit at the lake. Watch the sunset over the Tetons. Go to Jenny Lake. Walk around Jackson. Hike one (or more) of the many, many trails. Find the wildlife. Sit in the large room watching the Tetons at Jackson Lake Lodge (it's okay).

We stayed here while attending conference at the Jackson Lake Lodge. The location of the campground is excellent, near Yellowstone as well as the most impressive parts of the Grand Teton NP. The campground itself was wooded, with adequate room between sites. It was convenient to the Visitor Center, the General Store, the Activities Desk, the marina, beach and the 2 restaurants with nice trails to those areas. The sites are not level but are not too bad. The views from the beach are stunning, especially in the morning. The marina has aluminum boats with 9.9 hp outboard motors for rent at a reasonable price, and you can take them around the islands for wildlife watching. The Visitor Center is very nice with a well stocked gift shop, nice movies and helpful rangers. The general store is very nice with just about everything you might need. The adjacent Gift Shop is very big with a great selection of shirts, hats, gear, souvenirs, etc. They have 2 restaurants. One is a Pizza, wings and sandwiches café, and the other is a traditional sit-down restaurant with a nice variety and a good kids menu. The staff were wonderful, the prices high but reasonable for being in a National Park, and the food was great. There is no little to no cell service, and minimal Wi Fi, but they do have public WiFi at the restaurants. The campground staff are very helpful and pleasant. The mosquitos and gnats are thick, especially in the evening, but a good insect repellant keeps them away. Bears do come into the campground, so they have strict rules about not leaving grills or food out. They do not have fire rings or allow campfires in the RV Park. You can use gas or charcoal grills but have to clean them and put them away at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights here and highly recommend camping at Colter Bay. We will certainly be back!! This is a beautiful campground, sites all in the lodgepole pines, adequate space between campsites for a private campground. Several paths lead from the campground to the rocky beach of Jackson Lake, with a fantastic view. Utilities worked well, though some sewer hookups are uphill from the camper. We loved this park and definitely want to return; the only downside is that showers are not located in the campground itself, but in the laundromat facility, a short walk from part of the campground and a long walk from other parts of it. Colter Bay Village includes the RV park and the next-door no-hookup campground, general store with fairly well-stocked grocery, laundromat, showers, restaurant and cafe, activities office, gas station, visitor center, horseback riding corrals, marina (rental kayaks, canoes & boats available). Picnic tables located on the beach as well as at campsites. Other activities that can be booked include river rafting (scenic floats), boat tours, breakfast & dinner rides & floats, etc.

This is a very pretty, woodsy campground. Lots and lots of trees. Site size adequate with a large motorhome. We only stayed one night on our way from yellowstone, my children were disappointed we didnt stay longer. Lots of hiking trails with fantastic views of the Tetons. They have a marina, 2 restaurants, large gift shop and visitor center. Nearby bathhouse was clean. Close to Jackson lodge and all the amenities of the Grand Tetons. Would stay here again.
