I rated this park for what it is, an urban park in a super expensive town that everyone wants to visit. Yes, sites are a bit close, but they each have a tree and it's well manicured. The services all work well, and the staff is helpful. It's the only game in town, and we'd stay here again. You can bike into the center of town easily. For us it worked out perfectly. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Tent Trailer.

This is a park in the middle of Jackson Hole. They are affiliated with The Virginian Lodge so you have decent internet thought when it is full it slows down. They have the use of the pool as well. The sites are gravel and near a bus stop. They say 40 foot max though I have stayed here in my 42 foot and now in my 29 foot. This is very convent to downtown Jackson and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I was taken aback when the site manager said a one night stay with my 25 foot MH in a back in site would cost a total of $101.12 inc taxes. I asked why it was so high and he unashamedly said that it was the only RV park in Jackson. This high cost is undefendable as the park was average and clean but there were only three showers in each of the mens and ladies shower blocks, they were small plastic pre cast ones and I could barely turn around in them(albeit they were clean). We would have dearly loved to stay longer than one night but the high cost per night prevented us doing that. The township of Jackson missed out on our economic contribution to it by the greediness of one, no competition RV Park owner. Represent the good of the town, not a selfish and greedy mentality that only cares about one person, himself. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

It's expensive but only place there! Good central location to the town square (aka tourist central). Also even closer to grocery, car wash, Ace Hardware, bike shop, Staples and more... All places we needed. Came out of YNP for one night, ended up spending three. Two to get everything done and one to generally relax.. YNP is a very busy and demanding but fun place. Then headed west.. Power is good as are the other hookups. Can get direct TV satilite and wi-fi was good as we needed to do some real estate business. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Dinner at Kazumi's Japanese. Very good food and service. Smaller portions and pricy. But remember how far you are from really fresh seafood. To get it to Jackson is Costly! And it must be fresh... Don't pay too much attention to Yelp reviews. We almost didn't go but could not get a reservation anywhere. Gun Barrel Steakhouse and Game... outstanding food and service.. not to mention it's practically a museum quality interior with paintings and artifacts.

This is it if you want to spend a night in Jackson Hole. When you call to make a reservation the first thing they mention is the price. The park is a little rough, roads and spaces are tight. We were able to park our car sideways behind our 35' motorhome at our pull thru site. Everything worked is the best thing I can say. Nothing special here except the cost. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

To drive to downtown Jackson Hole from the campground make a left from the campground exit and take the back road into town to avoid the traffic. Snake River Brewing has good beer and good food.

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

We booked a month of July, 2017 at this park. We knew the price when we booked it and decided to go anyway. As the other reviewers say, it just is not worth the money, but they are really the only park in a decent location near Teton National Park. The good news is that you can connect from the RV park to miles of really nice bike trails, walk across the street to the free bus shuttle to town or just simply walk to and back to the town of Jackson, so the location is ideal. You do have access to the hotel's swimming pool, but it is not heated and there are swarms of children and families in there that you compete with to get in an afternoon swim. The RV park was full to capacity the entire time we stayed there. One of the washers and four dryers were out of order for at least two weeks of our stay in the laundry room. I finally used the laundry room up by the hotel. Also, one of the RV Park's employees parks his large truck and utility trailer just to the left of the exit, creating a terrible traffic hazard and zero visibility. I spoke to him about it but he didn't move it. A week is plenty of time at this park. I would try one of the parks in Dubois if I ever go back. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town is absolutely jammed every day with traffic, noise, crowds, and overpriced shops and galleries. Did someone else say expensive? Everything in Jackson is expensive. And bring your stamina, because the traffic, pedestrians, bike riders, buses, trucks and trailers will all be coming at you from all four directions every time you try and drive anywhere. The only wildlife I saw all month were some buffalo that are at the north end of Teton National Park. There was one family of swans in the Elk Refuge. Nothing else but some ducks. The Tetons were ok, as the crowds tend to stay more in the town of Jackson and off and on their tour buses on Hwy. 89. The mountains are spectacular.

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $89.00
Overall Rating:

Many reviewers give this RV park a low score and for those who have not been here a wrong impression is presented. The reason for the low score is that it is expensive. You will pay over $90 a night assuming you have a Good Sam discount, more if you don't. For that kind of money people expect a luxurious resort like ones you find in Vegas or other places in the US. What most people forget is that they are in Jackson Hole where a dumpy house sells for more than a million dollars or $5-10M if you want something live able. My point being this is an expensive destination. If you can't afford it don't come or if you are not looking for full hookups stay in a national park campground or stay at many truly dumps of RV parks about 20 miles out.

Oh and the park itself, it's clean, quiet, interior roads are big rig friendly, and most sites provide adequate separation. They have free newspapers and coffee every morning at the office. So if it wasn't because it's expensive this place would be rated much higher, but again this is Jackson Hole, the whole place is expensive. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be prepared for sticker shock, it's and expensive RV park, but really your only real choice if you are looking for full hookup camping in Jackson.

Now what most reviewers don't say is that the Virginian is in the middle of town, that means more than 20 restaurants within walking distance, plus all other sorts of retail stores, including a very large and modern Albertsons supermarket. You are 10 mins by bike to town center, you are next to the free shuttle bus stop that takes you all over town. You can walk to the Rodeo. You can walk to Snow King park and lifts. Many trail heads are minutes from the campground. You are 10 mins by car to Teton Village.

If it were not for the very high price we would probably have felt a little better about our stay at The Virginian. It is conveniently located just outside of the downtown area of Jackson Hole, the sites are reasonably nice, and the staff was efficient and helpful. For over $100 per might however we expected a little more. As others have stated they are sadly the only RV park in town and charge accordingly. The free shuttle to downtown, the ability to walk to several area restaurants (including one right at the adjoining hotel), and the ease of access help salve the wound but we still felt a little resentful of the cost. Overall its a "5" - nothing much to distinguish it on the plus side but not bad either. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Gun Barrell Steakhouse is a 2 minute walk across the plaza. A great place for lunch or dinner. There is also a full-service grocery store just up the street - handy to replenish supplies before heading north to Grand Teton or Yellowstone. Downtown Jackson is fun but has strayed from its conservative roots.

Since there is NO competion close by so they are charging what they can get away with. A fair price would be in the $45 - $60 range. Nothing special at the Virginian, just close to town. They do keep the park clean, neighbors are close, but slides outs don't impact next door neighbors. Wifi had good signal strength, cable TV was ok. Couldn't find NBC station, everything else was available. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Based on the reviews I read, we almost did not stay here. We would have been wrong. We found this park to be head and shoulders above many. Grass between sites and wide enough to comfortably extend your sides. Wide interior roads. Very friendly and helpful at check-in. There was cable, clean laundry facilities, and an overall well maintained RV park. Due to a last minute desire to stay longer we stayed at two sites. One a little shorter than the other but both sufficient to accommodate our 40' motor home. Tow was parked behind crosswise of the site. What a wonderful place in the middle of so much grandeur and yet so close to Jackson. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Expensive. Put in a pull-through, had to detach car. Tight between sites, loose gravel and grass, level though. RV park backs to hotel with a pool that RV residents use as well, come back to bath house and drip all over baths, showers a mess every time I entered day or night. Was cleaned between times but appeared not to be able to keep up with the mess campers allowed kids to do. Location was best part of the RV park, ease of access to downtown Jackson Hole. Sites are fairly tight and short (longest is 40'). Roads are gravel. Cable is OK, except NBC is not one of the options (and they are the only network carrying the Olympics). All in all, just an OK park, but not worth the $95 price tag (before any discount). We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a tight park with very close sites. It's still the best game in town and allows you to visit Jackson without your vehicle. You can walk or bike to anyplace in town. Best way to visit Jackson.

I rated it satisfactory on value but really it isn't. Only reason to stay is location, location, location. The staff really tries to accommodate you and your rig. We have stayed several times before, and will again. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Well, I've been in a lot better campgrounds for a lot less money but the location is what you're paying for here. Actually: based on some of the reviews I was pleasantly surprised by the park staff, cleanliness and good internet and limited but good cable.

The free shuttle comes twice an hour just a hundred yards from the park and makes exploring all of Jackson a piece of cake. Incredible shops, restaurants and attractions are all within a few stops.

For $3 you can also take the bus to Teton Village and hook into their free shuttle.

Site was mostly gravel wih grass area and table. Reasonably flat but tightly packed. Sites tend to be a bit short but they are variable in length so reserve early if you have a long unit. Most large tows will require disconnecting.

Can't afford to stay long here: but would definitely pick it above any other choices to see Jackson Hole. We camped at The Virginian Lodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.
