Love this place. 2nd time here. If you like country camping and not the typical RV park, as well as a blast from the past, this is a perfect spot, especially with Passport America. $13.50 a night, otherwise, it's $25. No,it's not perfectly manicured. The road in and around the campsites are dirt (but level). I would probably be hesitant to bring anything over 40 ft here. There are some full timers. They are nice, quiet and relatively tidy. There are some old beat up vehicles and farm equipment off to the back of the property. The views of the countryside and the Wind River Mtns are wonderful. It's all very relaxing. The showers and bathrooms are long boarded up, but the sites that you will get have full hookups, and they work fine. There is no real shade, but usually a breeze. Verizon works great- 4 bars of 4G. There is a little hwy traffic during the day (~1/4 mile away), but very quiet at night. It's only a 10 minute drive to Lander. The owners are two of the nicest people we've met on our summer on the road. They will meet you with Sadie the dog, out front when you pull in, and come say goodbye when you leave. You will hear some great stories, or they will leave you alone. Your choice. If you give her notice, she will even cook you dinner in the cafe (didn't have the pleasure). The cafe is a cozy room frozen in time. Hundreds of books and other items to browse. To me, this place is all about the experience, and it is an experience, not just a place to sleep, unless you want it to be. I was excited to arrive and a little sad to leave. We camped at Mountain View Campground and Cafe in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for the cheap PA rate only. We only needed a one night, full hookup spot after boondocking for two weeks and found this one on the PA website. The owner was very, very nice. An older lady is who I met, can't remember her name. The grounds are unkempt, barren, and the handful of spots on the property were full with obvious long time people. They were well settled in. There were maybe three open spots when we were there. it is a bare bones stop for the night and sleep kinda place. Worth the $12.50, though! We camped at Mountain View Campground and Cafe in a Fifth Wheel.
