This is not a luxury RV park, so it is not a review for that standard. It is in the "middle of nowhere" in Lingle WY. That said; I can not say enough about the friendliness and care we received. Everything was dated, but clean and functional. The RV sites were level and I appreciated having the grass. An extra bonus was the garden fresh produce available in the office at an incredibly reasonable price! There is a train track close by and you can hear it, especially the horn. It did not bother us, but it can be a negative for some people. Fort Laramie is 10 minutes away and worth a visit for any history buff! The owners take pride and are very responsive. I loved being there for 4 nights during the eclipse. Did I mention they did not upcharge for this special event! Good people there! We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Fort Laramie is worth a visit. Especially when they have musicians there. We saw the local string band and a folk singer named Hank Cramer. Besides singing he is also a great historian! There is a little Bakery in Torrington...simply heavenly..called the Bread Doctor. Everyone in town was super friendly!

We stayed two nights in a 32-foot Class C RV, and towing a car. The campground was flat and offered electricity and water hook-ups if you wanted to be in the shade. If you didn't care about shade you could park where there was also sewer hook-ups. The spots were on grass and pull-through and there were many available, so we picked one with shade since it was 90+ degrees during the day. The owners were very nice and live on the property. There were three clothes washers and three dryers in the laundry area, which was clean. The biggest let down was that the women's shower/bathroom was dirty; had not been swept out for a few days and wasn't cleaned the two days we were there. The campground is near Fort Laramie, and not far from many other Old Oregon Trail sites. We recommend going a little out of your way and visiting Agate Fossil Beds National Monument, too. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground was nearly empty when we stayed here. Super nice owners and they keep grounds very clean. Our spot had new hookups but it was mostly dirt and dead grass. The spots that are not designated "big rig" are on grass and very nice. There is noise from trains and there are a lot of them so if that bothers you... Laundry room very clean and reasonable. We would stay again. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent base camp spot conveniently located to town of Lingle, town of Guernsey and Ft. Laramie National Park. We didn't make it up to Guernsey State Park so not sure how much farther up there, though I suspect it would convenient to there also.

Park is kept clean, full hook-ups available, some spots had 50 amp available, pretty level spots, good water pressure while we were there, owners go above and beyond to help accommodate. There is no pool, but if you have brought bikes along for the kids, they can certainly burn some energy that way. Community fire pit available when the weather allows (county was on fire ban while we were there.)

Yes, the park is located across the highway from a train crossing, but once we were in our camper for the night we did not hear it at all. Nor did we find it a nuisance while sitting outside visiting. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pony Soldier is a fairly basic RV park that exactly met our needs. We visited during the fall slow season and practically had the place to ourselves for our four day stay. We were encouraged to pick our own space from the available 50 amp pull-thru spots. Not many of the grass and dirt sites have a picnic table, but those that were available could be moved. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. WiFi worked pretty well, perhaps because we were the only ones using it! We found Pony Soldier to be a great bargain and would happily stay there again. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.

I agree, this is a great little park. The owners are working, methodically, to upgrade an older KOA park. In the past year, they have installed new electrical system. As we left, they were starting on installing new water connections and pipes. Yes, there is a major railroad across the highway, but the trains are few during the night. We didn't even notice them after sunset. The owners are very friendly and helpful. This park is nicely located to major historical sites. Yes, we would stay here again in the future and would recommend it to others. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park itself was fine, but the train ran every 45 minutes and blew its horn not once, not twice, but four times. Didn't really get any sleep. Can't recommend it because of the train. On the good side, very nice lady running the park. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a good little park and an excellent value with Passport America. The wifi is good, the hookups are good and there is history in the area. I will return if coming through again. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.

New owners have been working hard to make this a nicer park. There are trains close by and you do hear the whistles but the trains are slow moving and hardly noticeable; especially, if you have the air on. Yes, it feels like the middle of nowhere but you are only 5 minutes from historic Fort Laramie and 15 minutes from Guernsey and the Oregon Trail Ruts, Grey Rock Reservoir and many more historic sites. Rates are Passport America. I will stay here again on my way to Yellowstone. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here for an overnight stay. The electrical and Wi-Fi were good. The sites are grass. It is in the middle of nowhere with no TV reception. Any thoughts of watching TV would have to be satellite. The park as a whole needs a lot maintenance and upkeep. Probably wouldn't stay here again unless we had to. The owners were friendly. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the most rundown RV park I have ever seen. In addition the restrooms were not clean and the showers nearly unusable. To top it off there is a train track across the street with an at-grade crossing. Every half an hour all day and ALL NIGHT a train went through and blew its horn upon approaching that crossing. It was impossible to sleep. If you stay here be sure and use your earplugs. The WiFi at our site worked fairly well. That same train track passes the couple of other RV parks we saw in this area so I don't know if they would be any less noisy. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.

This RV Park is REALLY run down. The parking place for the rig itself is not bad. Just a grassy lawn with some trees, in a pretty quiet area other than the occasional train. The hookups all worked, but all the improvements on the property are REALLY run down. The bathrooms were flat out gross, and the showers were so bad we considered them "unusable". Not going to be a park we return to. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older park undergoing renovations. Nice level grassy sites with scattered shade trees. The bathrooms which were clean are the weakest link. Once remodeled this will make a nice park. We are staying an extra day to check out the Fur Rendezvous happening this weekend. Be sure to check out the museum next door (donation). Lots of cool stuff. Adequate park for any size rig. It is not in a town, but is conveniently located for visiting Ft. Laramie, Scotts Bluff, NB and other historic sites in the area. Flat dirt sites with some grass depending on the weather. WiFi worked fairly well, but no OTA TV reception. If you don't have satellite, you aren't watching TV. Nice owners. We camped here in a 5th wheel toy hauler and would stay here again when visiting the area. Rate shown reflects the PA discount. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here one night on our way to South Dakota. Lots of spaces, wide roads. Mostly level, no pads, weeds. Windy. Would stop here again. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.
