First, the dump station is right outside the park entrance, so we dumped and disconnected the jeep while dumping. Then, when we get to the check in station, about 50 yards away from the dump station, they wanted us to pay for an extra vehicle since it wasn't towed in!!

Several campgrounds in the park, but we stayed in the Tatanka loop, so this review is specific to that loop. Hilly campground, but while the gravel pads had some degree of levelness to them, there wasn't a lot of level areas anywhere. Depending on your location and wind direction, you may get to "enjoy" the stench from the pit toilets.

Very crowded on the weekends and most people seem to come for the water access as there were a lot of boats on the reservoir. Don't wash your rv before arriving. The roads are all gravel and very dusty so when cars go by, they kick up a lot of dust which coats everything!

About the only positive thing I can say is that the park is fairly close to Devils Tower which is awesome. Oh, and the long concrete walking path is very nice. It also is pretty quiet at night once the noisy neighbors turn in.

A few sites in the Tatanka loop are big rig friendly and offer water and 50 amp electric. We had open sky on our site (11) for satellite reception, but I suspect most sites are too tree covered. Useable AT&T for internet and decent Verizon coverage.

If your main motivation for visiting the area is Devils Tower, I'd suggest a private park closer to the monument. If you enjoy water sports, don't mind the dust and smell, you may enjoy it here. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.

Obviously, Devils Tower is a must visit, and spend some time off the main blacktop trail around the base. Take a random drive through the Bear Lodge Mountain range (mostly narrow gravel roads) for some spectacular vistas.

We had two nights here, 2 spots. First spot in Tatanka was no. 2. Easy to back into, no satellite with trees, beautiful view of the lake. Second spot no 20 had no trees, no shade and no view of the lake. It's easy navigation even for big rigs, trash barrels all over, walk dog around loops, concrete picnic tables in good shape with fire pit. Dump when arriving if you need to, it is a long road back. Maybe seemed so because they were re-doing the road. The only issue for us was the dust every time a vehicle passed. Clouds of dust would waft up and create a haze which just hung in the air. It was a busy place too with frequent vehicles! Great place for fishing and camping. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.

Park is located on a beautiful lake. Sunset was also beautiful. Site was loose stone/dirt and not level. Dusty dirt roads through out park. Site is W&E only with table. Experienced 1st hail storm which locals stated was quite large for Wyoming. Several RVs had damage. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has a limited number of sites that can be reserved ahead, with the majority on a first come basis. Many sites seemed to have a nice view of the lake with a concrete picnic table and fire pit. The campgrounds are generally on a hill sloping down to the lake so most sites didn't seem to be too level, and the roads/sites were very dusty. Good spacing between sites though. No showers available, just put toilets. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The Park is beautifully maintained. There is a dump station with drinkable water access at the entrance. The sites are large. There is a loop of the Park with electric/water hookups, although we dry camped. There are several loops to choose from, all very different from each other. It is only 20 miles from Devils Tower. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.

Devils Tower is a must-see nearby with a handicap walking trail all the way around which takes about an hour to walk. Keyhole State Park also has an extensive concrete bike/walking trail - very nice.

We stayed here for two nights on our way to Yellowstone. We took one of the days to visit Devils Tower, it is only about 30 minutes away. We had reserved in advance. When we arrived at our reserved spot we had problems backing in with our trailer (25 Ft) since the spot was hard to get into and not level at all. So we called back to the office and they allowed us to move to another more level site. The campground was not busy as we were there on a weekday. The office person we talked to seemed a little "put out" about our request, but allowed us to change.

We had a good view of the lake and also spent some time walking and biking around the park. We did not use the lake, but it had a nice marina also. This park has no showers, only composting toilets. There is a dump station at the entrance to the park. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Didn't use bathrooms. Stayed for two nights. Trees in most of the sites. I had a clear view of the water where we left our kayaks by the shore. Able to walk right to kayaks and take them out. Not much boat traffic, no wake zone along the campsite area. Would definately stay here again. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.

We had to stop on our way to Yellowstone for an overnight sleep. The staff was able to save us a spot within 6 hours of us arriving. Very nice people, good view. No showers available, bathroom was clean in our loop. but was just an enclosed port-a-john. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Travel Trailer.

You have to know which part of the park to stay in if you want hookups as Tatanka campground is the only section with these amenities. There was no maps or explanations anywhere. You must go to the web site and figure out where you want to stay. Hook up sites are reservation only from May 15 to September 15. Other than that, the hookup sites are very spacious. Every site affords a view of some sort as they are terraced.

We were able to use our Verizon router for Wi-Fi. No AT&T cell service. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.

We were fortunate to pick this destination and simply arrive, and get a site with W&E on Labor Day weekend. It's a popular place & there are lots of families, boats, kids, ATVs. We didn't realize there are 9 campgrounds here & 4 fee gates so study the map and know where you're headed. (Office hours are 7:30 -3:30). Many of the campgrounds are dry. All have pit toilets, adequate but we are glad to be self contained. Our site was fine for our 36' coach, with room for toad in front, a table & fire ring, tall trees and view of the water. Con: roads and sites are dusty gravel & the dust blows. However, the lake is stunning and we put our kayaks in easily at a beachside launch area. There is an excellent paved trail to the marina, playground area, small store, motel, several launch areas and plenty of space to enjoy this gem. Wyoming State Park system knows how to do it. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a Wyoming State Park, which are fairly rustic, but certainly doable. We had a nice view of the lake with lots of nice shade trees. Easy access and plenty of space in-between your neighbors. Not much around for amenities, so make sure your refrigerator and cupboards are stocked. We traveled in a 37' RV. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.

Sites in this park are ample, but the loops are a little tight for larger rigs. Our site was also not very level. There is a paved bike/walking path alongside the campground which was nice. Our site was up on the hill with a good view of the lake, but you can also get waterfront sites. Staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed here in a 5th wheel. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

First off they only have electric and water at one CG,Tatanka. If you use the reservation system online it will cost you $30/night. $22 for the CG $8 for using the system, that $8 may be spread out over the length of your stay. Note if you have a tow and plan to drive out of the park that will cost you $6 more. Check their web site for the complete breakdown on the cost. Outside of the cost the CG was great. Right on a sheltered bay with Ponderosa trees and shade. The whole park has only 49 reservable sites and only 32 with full 50 amp and water. Roads and sites are gravel and fairly level. The Tatanka CG is a bit tight to get around in and pulled into your site but not to bad for our 36' rig. Outside of the mishmash cost structure that makes you pay for your toad if you drive it out of the park this is a great campground. Note there are campgrounds without water all around the lake and a dump station is available. Tatanka is at the off the main entrance road. No showers are availabe in the Park. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.

I only gave this a nine because it was in the primitive section of the campground; otherwise I would have without a doubt given this campground a 10. The sites, though backin, were big and spaced far apart. Since the trees were lodgepole pines there were no trees obstructing campsites. Our campsite was right on the lake so the view was beautiful. The campsites were all very well maintained. We definitely would stay here again. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.
