9 Parks near Powell, Wyoming
Jul 2008 - $5.00
This was a nice park with plenty of things for kids to do and picnic tables and outdoor pits to cook on. There is a dump station for your tanks and potable water to refill your holding tanks. We would stay here again. - lynndylu
Aug 2006 - $1.00
This is a boondock park for two nights only. Free camping for 48 hours. Park is extremely well maintained. Restrooms are available and there is a stocked pond for the kiddies to fish in. Great place to overnight in. - Enophite
Sep 2016 - $36.00
Small laundry, good machines (2 washers, 2 dryers), reasonable price. Our site was level, easy to pull in, long enough. Good hookups, good wifi. Nice view of mountains, open. New park, very few other RVs. A shame. It is a very good small park. Easy to get Dish TV, good Verizon signal. - John and Carol
Aug 2016 - $39.00
Great new campground. The staff is excellent! Could use some landscaping to lessen the harden look of gravel. Excellent Teepees along the river for those that don't have rev's, are spectacular. Best wifi we have ever used! Once the landscaping is finished this campground could be a ten! - NPmoto
Aug 2016 - $46.00
We stayed here for two nights while visiting Cody. The management and staff were very nice and helpful. Our site was reasonably level. Wi-Fi was available, but in and out. We soon disconnected and used Verizon, which was strong. After looking at the other parks in Cody from a street view, we would still pick this park over what we observed in the city. The downside to us was that the park is in full sun with no shade. All hookups worked well with no problems. We would recommend this park for a short stay while passing through town. - Hiker Hap
Sep 2014 - $0.00
It's free. They don't even have a place to leave donations. It's also shady, quiet for a residential area, and has both fresh water and a dump station. On the minus side, it's all dirt and, while the sites are long pull-throughs, the turns are tight. I wouldn't take anything longer than 30' in there. A dog from across the street made a pest of himself but otherwise a nice stay and I had the whole place to myself. It's not pretty but I would stay here again. - mockturtle
Sep 2016 - $57.00
Great campground located in the cutest western town! Great museums in town, this is a great little town! - User2571
Jul 2016 - $73.00
First time in 20 years we'd been there, a great place for seeing the area. A bit far to be a 'basecamp' for Yellowstone but many use it for that. The Cody area has grown considerably but is fun to explore. We were just one night on our way to West Yellowstone so didn't get time to explore too much this trip. We had a patio site, which was small but functional. Pancake breakfast in the mornings and a well stocked store/gift shop. - 2_Travelin
Jun 2016 - $22.00
We pulled into the park near dark. the young lady said the park was full but they did have an overflow area.
So we dry camped. We did get to use our generator.
They had free pancake breakfast the next morning so that was a plus.
The biggest negative I had was the teenagers that work there were all bickering with each other. We could have done without that. - SubVet SSBN619
Sep 2016 - $33.00
Good value campground. Although pretty much a parking lot with lots of daily turnover we enjoyed our stay. Even though close to the road, noise wasn't an issue. Staff was helpful helping us manage a medical issue. - mineralslee
Sep 2016 - $40.00
OK Park, Spaces were a little tight.
Ok for an overnight. - happyflyer
Aug 2016 - $33.00
Overall the park is pretty nice. The proximity to town is great. The park is very well kept up. Small spaces at 42' and closely arranged are OK but not terrific. The wireless was playing hiding and seek (sometimes there and sometimes not). - jbenalpine
Oct 2016 - $43.00
We pulled in late on a Sunday and there were plenty of spots. At the office it says on a sign on the door to come on back in the morning to pay. The office is a large log building, very attractive in its own right. Seemed
like a down to earth folksy place.
We set up in a pull thru site and as we were setting up my husband said
he thought some one had driven by
and marked that we were there.
We had full hookups at Ponderosa and there was a cable hookup but we
don't watch TV while travelling, perhaps in the future. It is right in
town and convenient to businesses.
We had to leave fairly early the next morning but later than 9 a.m. so we could swing by the office. When we opened the door to our rv the next morning we found a note saying
Howdy please stop by the office. When my husband got in the office
he found that they already had our license plate number. So much for the folksiness and suggesting they trust people to stop by the office and pay. They don't.
Our site was near the dumpsters and there was 2 trucks there early the next morning. - KSum
Sep 2016 - $45.00
This is an older park with additional areas added on. Wonderful people in the office, you'll think they are your grandparents. (and I've been retired 6 years) Many mature trees are in the original part of the RV Park. We were assigned to a space with 2 large trees making the satellite antenna useless after specifically asking for a space with satellite access. The CB antenna scraped on the branches backing in and the branches hung over to the far side of the RV when parked. Our site was on the main path to the restrooms and office so walk by traffic was almost continual.
Cable TV is provided. In our space, the utilities were on the other side of the large trees. 40' of water hose and 30' of sewer hose to reach. Our 40' electric cable had one wrap on the reel left. We weren't a very good fit for this space, but the office staff debated and agreed it was the best of what they had available. There were 2 tour groups staying the same night we were so I presume we were lucky to get any space.
Verizon phone service was good. Cable TV was a change from the satellite we are used to, but we managed for a night. Many restaurants are nearby and other shopping is close. Staff is very good at giving directions and recommendations.
We would stay here again, but make a reservation farther in advance to insure a better spot. - Bucky Beaver
Sep 2016 - $35.00
Excellent service at check-in, wonderful gift shop, cable, laundry & the best wi-fi we have ever had at a camp site. The campsite length was just right for our fifth-wheel; however, the site was a tad narrow. We were provided with enough interesting information for Cody to keep us busy for a week :)! Only one caveat, check or cash only...there is an ATM machine in the lobby though. - CJtripping
Jun 2010 - $28.00
Older park. Poor sewer hookups, gravel sites. Laundry but dryers had only one out of four working, and it had only low heat so the $1.50 to dry a load turned into $4.50. - fgalend
Jul 2016 - $30.00
We stayed a total of four nights at this park in a 39 foot fifth wheel. The campground is small. There are a number of permanent mobile homes around the perimeter of the property that, if I am honest, stop this from rating higher. Having said that, we visited other campgrounds in the area and would choose this one again. The others lacked character and had a storage facility feel about them.
The location is excellent with a Walmart almost directly opposite and a great restaurant next door (Cassie's). The owner was very friendly and is obviously proud of his business. Facilities were clean. Washer and drier a bit on the pricey side.
The site was a pull through and was level. Decent space between sites.
Convenient to YNP.
I will return if I am in the area again. - Bill and Jen
Jun 2016 - $30.00
Arrived without reservations, staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of RV's in town and all campgrounds were full. Met our needs for an overnight stop after leaving Yellowstone NP. Would stay again if passing through the area. Not a destination campground. Good water pressure, open for satellite reception, did not try OTA. , and no cable. - dfc
Aug 2015 - $30.00
Cash or check only. Owner was friendly and helpful, the site mostly level gravel with grass buffer between sites. Neighboring site had three pipeline workers staying and one parked his noisy pickup almost at my front door, then came in late and left early in the AM. The major issue is power stanchion at site 18. My EMS constantly battled to maintain but lost the connection permanently the last night we were here to very high voltage, an open ground, and at the loss of our micro-wave unit. I had shown the owner the problem during the previous day and he replied that he has tried to get an electrician to come in for repairs but it has been months and he is still waiting. No effort was made to either put us in another site (CG was full every night) or try to repair the problem. Fortunately for us the only loss was the micro-wave with a huge white flash. I fully disconnected from shore power after the surge the last night and didn't try to reconnect before moving on. The CG is convenient to downtown Cody and great places to eat, museums and historical sites. When the electrical problem is repaired, the CG will rate higher and we would gladly return. - SilverBear
