Nice stay for overnight. Lovely view of Rawlins western hills & sunset. Host very friendly & helpful. Easy access to I-80. Office closed in winter but campground open. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Restaurant & fuel station across from campground.

Basically a very large gravel parking lot. Nice for stopping for the night, but I wouldn't want to spend any length of time there.

Pros - good cable TV and water pressure, sites were fairly level and pull through.

Cons - The 30 amp breaker kept tripping, may be a problem with their power box. Only grass was in the tenting area (small), sites close together, Internet connection was slow and intermittant. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Mainly useful for an overnight stop. Campground was on the Western side of Rawlings.

Just a stop over on the way east. Plain dirt parking lot with FHUs. The laundry was very clean and reasonably priced. Sites were level. Verizon was strong. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

1st time we camped here. Usually stay further down the hill but they were full. Easy access from 1-80, clean, all gravel, utilities were fine. More maneuver room than others in Rawlins. Western Hills filled up the night we were there. Camped in a 42 ft rv pulling a Jeep and would stay here again. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed overnight going/coming. Would stay again. Gravel but well kept. Good electric and wifi.

45 ft plus toad. Plenty of room but not big. Very level. Open all winter. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Park was full but had area with no hook ups to park in, so we were safe and not on highway. Had a place for dogs so all in all good place to stay. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Good place to stay when all campgrounds are full

We have stayed at this park several years ago, not much has changed, the signage to the park leaves a bit desired, but you can see it from the main road. The park is a big gravel parking lot with sites, the sites are gravel and have a picnic table. What you want dictates the price of the site & location. We chose a full hook up site with no cable. Our site was level and long enough we did not have to unhook. There are couple of dog runs, and grass imbetween them. Even though the whole park (except the tent area & the area between the dog runs) is gravel, there is very little dust, even with the strong winds. The mens bathroom was exceptionally clean. We will stay at this park if we are in the area. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Large gravel parking lot with pedestals. No landscaping. Packed in solid every evening that we were there. We weren't exactly slide-to-slide but close. Internet WiFi was okay until everyone showed up and clogged the bandwidth. Basically an "ok", transient campground but the wind was horrendous, hitting 30+ miles per hour. I-80 noise very noticeable and a lot of freight train traffic. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are a couple of local restaurants and taverns. We did Pizza Hut. Quaint little town with a historical "downtown" but that's about it. A typical interstate by-way.

Good spot close to interstate for an overnight stop, sites are spartan but adequate, electricity was stable and water pressure was good. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

As others have said its a large gravel parking lot. Nothing special but just fine for getting off the road for the night and we would stay here again if we were using it in our travels again. Easy to get in and out of for big rigs. Lots of places to eat nearby. We found a great "50"s style Dinner restaurant on the other side of town. One of the best breakfasts we had on this trip! We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Just stayed overnight for restock and laundry. Well managed, great laundry facilities, close to all necessaries. Near interstate but not too noisy. We would stay again. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Spaces are close together but when we stayed (early May) park was not full so we did not feel crowded. Can see I-80 but not hear traffic. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Convenient to Carbon County Museum and Wyoming State Prison Museum. Major concentration of big stores is on the other end of town.

Rate reflects electric only. Noisy, noisy, noisy. At times we thought we were going to be run over by a train as it sounded like it was coming in all directions. Add to that the constant highway noise and you end up with a sleepless night. Couldn't stay on the WIFI for more than 5 minutes before getting dropped. On the plus side our site was level and the electric worked fine. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Easy access to Interstate with wide, gravel interior roads. Noise from the Interstate and trains is not disruptive inside the motorhome. Pull-through sites are flat gravel and roomy enough for slides and for keeping tow car hitched. Each site has a picnic table, free wifi and cable, both worked well. The campground is clean. There are a few trees along the perimeter and a few arbors with struggling vines growing on them separating every 4th or 5th campsite. Some long term campers have accumulated belongings stowed neatly along side the campers . There are three dog parks. Two have grass that is watered. However, too many people do not pick up after their pets. The park provides a waste can and baggies outside the pens. They have poop scoops, but no receptacle inside the fenced areas. This is perfect for an overnight stop. We would stay here again. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Plenty of space to get around and at the site. Everything is level and well maintained. Utilities great. Cable TV and wi-fi good. Satellite TV access excellent. We could see the interstate traffic, but no noise. A concrete pad would have made this a 10. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.
