Overnight stop on our way home. Easy on and off the interstate. Road noise but with windows closed it was hardly noticeable. The water was off for the season but we have learned to carry our own just in case. It is the high desert so no trees or grass. The only issue was the electrical. I was getting a high voltage on L1 error on the trusty surge guard (don't leave home without one). In talking to the neighbors there were at least 6 of us having issues. The surge guard shut us down at least 5 times in our night here. I don't know if it was a park problem or utility provider problem. We will be back unless we run into the same electrical problem next time. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A very large gravel parking lot with sites very close together. But hey, this is a decent overnight spot, not a destination resort. Easy access to interstate with fuel stops and a few restaurants near by. It looks like the entire park has been refreshed with new gravel and I saw no standing water or mud. We arrived for an overnight in late October (the only park open at the time) and water had already been shut off so we paid a reduced rate. One major ding was the power. For several hours the one night we stayed, the power was constantly shutting off/on. Sorry, but not having reliable utilities is inexcusable for an RV park and is an automatic "poor" rating from us. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Good place yo stay overnight. All gravel park with the largest space I have seen between rows so very easy access. Level gravel sites. Good power, Verizon good, could not get hooked up to WiFi. Utilities good. Very nice staff. Would use the park again. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Typical park for this part of the country, gravel lot with hookups, but it was fine for the type. It is very easy to get around in, and our site was good sized and level. Nice people, too. Some interstate and train noise, but not too bad at night. Good place to stop overnight or if you had business or family here. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects military discount. Side-by-side parking on hard packed gravel. No shade what so ever. Good water pressure with solid 50 amp electric. Cable TV but is very poor picture quality. Internet was very good and we had good 4g Verizon cell service. The park sits on top of a hill so, if it's windy (as it was when were were there), you will be rocked a little. If it's blowing, next time we will stay down the hill at the other park. We would stay here again. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here as an overnighter. Have stayed here before and will again. Fuel is close by but groceries are a little farther away. We did go to Walmart about 5-7 miles away. Even though we were close to the interstate, the noise was very limited and did not bother us to sit outside. It's basically a parking lot but excellent for maneuverability. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We started with two nights, then decided to stay a week, which dropped the price to $23.14 a day. This is a large park with plenty of driving room between rows. Full hookups worked fine. Level sites. Sewer connection was about 4 inches above ground level, but not a problem. No problems with electric power. Gravel with no patio pads. Clean restrooms and laundry. Everything in good working order. Park employees were friendly and helpful with local information. We are glad we chose this RV park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Rawlins is on the eastern edge of the Red Desert which has wild horses, desert elk, and lots of pronghorn. There is a Walmart, museums, Continental Divide Trail, small railroad yard, truck stop, and a place to buy ice cream downtown.

We were pleasantly surprised by this campground. Yes, it is just a large gravel lot but was very level and clean. We took an electric only site which was wide enough and long enough so I didn't unhook. Electric was good and wifi worked well. Interstate was far enough away so road noise wasn't a problem. There was some train noise but tracks were across the valley and not an issue. Good place for ovvernight. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It's basically a big gravel parking lot. There are two dog play areas which was good. That is the only grass. Unfortunately some people didn't pick up after their pet. Office staff were friendly. Our spot was plenty long enough and level. Cable worked well. WiFi was typical of most RV parks. There is a playground and mini golf. Fine for an overnight. We would stay again if passing through. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

This rv park is what it is which is a gravel parking lot demarked with wide, long, pull-through sites that work well for a one-night stay. We chose a full hookup with no cable, all services worked well. Internal roads were fine. Verizon was fine for voice and data, dont know if there was WiFi. We would return if in the area. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is 'Not a Beauty' as the whole park is gravel, with no grass except the narrow, short, strips where the pets go 'potty'. But, it is by far, the least expensive RV Park we've stayed at on this trip, and although not pretty, was extremely clean & nice. We were there only for 1 night, so we opted for an 'Only Electricity' site, which was extremely close to the office & restrooms/showers. There is a 'miniature golf course' on the property. There were Many 'workers' staying there, judging by the trailers and 'work related' trucks by them. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Good one-night campground. Easy to get to off I-80 but road noise was not bad. Gravel parking lot - not any grass in sight. Reminded me of the typical RV park on the Alaska highway. Online reservation was easy. It does fill up at night, so I would recommend a reservation. Check-in was easy, and staff was friendly. Utilities were fine, and site was level. However, despite the gravel, there were muddy low points here and there, including right next to our front door. WiFi was awful. Roads are very wide so easy exit the next morning. We stayed in site #7, which was a 50 amp site with cable. We didn't try the cable - wide open sight to Dish satellites so no problem with that. Plenty long for our 38' motorhome plus Jeep in tow. Would definitely stay again for a one-night stopover. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Campground is easy to find. Staff was pleasant. Easy for big rigs to navigate. Site was long enough that big we could keep our toad attached. Utilities are well placed and worked well. Wifi is horrible. Cable is good. Campground is a huge gravel lot with hookups. No landscaping. There is traffic noise. It is windy there. Price is right. Good place for overnight stop. We would stay again, but only for overnight. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.
