5 Parks near Riverton, Wyoming
Aug 2012 - $40.00
Kind of a sad little place and very over-priced. As others said, somewhat run down and needs a lot of work, though bathrooms have been renovated. Right next to the highway, so noisy up front. Lots of tents and residents in older rigs. Watch out for high voltage and poor water quality (as tested). Verizon cell and MiFi worked fine; no mention of Wi-Fi by office. Most sites in shade, not level. Sat TV instead of cable, not many channels. - Annie's Song
Jun 2012 - $36.00
Very friendly owner, well informed about local information and accommodating in order to get a larger rig in place (allows you to drive on grass or park vehicle in another site if you don't fit in the pull through available). The only reason we gave an 8 for rating is the site was not big rig friendly. This is not a resort so don't expect a lot. The owner is trying but the CG needs a lot of TLC. WiFi worked great. - SubSailor
May 2012 - $38.00
Expensive but it's the only thing in the area unless you boondock at the Walmart right down the road. OK for a one night pull off the road. We were early in the year and it just needs freshening up. Nothing impressive but adequate. Owner very nice. - westie0506
Jul 2016 - $36.00
We were very happy to get a pull through full-hookup site on short notice when we left Dubois (about 1.25 hours west) due to a fire pre-evacuation notice. Call for full directions when getting close, it's a little off the main drag. The accommodating owner/manager stayed late for our arrival and gave us a full orientation. There were many welcome shade trees (it was hot!) and very close to our site, but not a problem for our motorhome with no slide-outs. We would not have been able to put out our canopy, though. The gravel/dirt site was level and required no blocks. The electric power was strong and consistent and the modern electric tower was nicely high enough to allow the surge guard use. The water was of good pressure, clean, and decent tasting. Sewer hookups were easily accessible. WiFi signal seemed strong, but the amount of traffic seemed to overwhelm the system in the evening. Verizon cell service was good. There were two nice grassy areas for dogs, which were clean due to the many reminder signs to pick up after your dog. The park has made an effort also in this desert area to brighten the landscape with pretty watered flowers at each pull-through site and other areas near the entrance. The bathrooms were very clean, spacious, well-lit. Showers also very clean, $1 for 10 minutes with water-flow reducing shower heads. The laundry was wonderful, 13 regular washing machines, 2 oversize commercial washing machines, 8 big dryers, lots of folding space, modern vending drink machine, all in a spacious, swamp-cooled room. Lots of other nice RVs here, and the park seemed safe and quiet. A mosquito spraying truck rolled through in the evening. The RV sites are next to the same-owner storage facility. Not a fancy park, but totally more than adequate as a stopover. The owners have obviously made a lot of effort, focusing on important functional and hygienic improvements. Remember this is a desert area when wishing for lush landscaping. - corglet
Jul 2016 - $36.00
Must have recently changed hands. Sites are dirt and not clean. Lots of weeds and many dead trees. Garbage dumpster was over flowing and looks very bad. Wi-Fi not good at last few sites and no cable or major networks available with regular antenna. Very dusty from people driving through park including park personnel on golf carts. They also drive very fast...
Manager was very friendly but over whelmed.
Not as represented in camp book. - D'art campizard
Jun 2016 - $6.00
It was hot when we were there and would have been happy with trees. That said, there are trees but they are mostly in section C. Very quiet. There is a path that goes around the campground and we saw people walking it in the early morning. Tent camping area is nicely shaded and looked to have lovely sites. The campground is 1 mile from the Visitors Center. - Val Green
Aug 2012 - $12.00
This park caters mostly to full-time residents, with a a dozen sites or so for folks staying in the area for a few days. The rate we paid was for a month's stay; daily rates are higher, as you might expect. Electricity is extra, and we will also get an electric bill some time in the future. The sites are level and there is adequate space between the rigs, and the sites are shaded by trees. We had to adjust our position a bit in order to get satellite TV. The management was friendly, and was helpful in being sure we got our mail and packages from Fed-X. Washing of cars and rigs is allowed. We enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again. - hoppytoad
Jun 2006 - $20.00
Poorly maintained park. The laundry room had 3 washers, 2 not working, 2 dryers, both not working, and a clothes lines outside for drying. The restrooms and showers were just nasty. It's located in town with no fencing around the park. An overnighter enroute maybe? - zookep9
Aug 2016 - $36.00
Great stopover on our way to Yellowstone. The campground sits on a small plateau overlooking the city of Lander and the mountains in the background, The stay is worth the view!
A little tight but, adequate - gravel surface, clean and well kept. My wife did our laundry and had no problems. WiFi OK and phone service good.
Great staff - we would definitely stay here again! - Larry Jenkins
Aug 2016 - $38.00
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Site was easy in but hard to find space for tow vehicle. Good wifi and AT&T. Easy satellite set-up for us. (moveable dish). Did not see as many junky trailers as others mentioned. We would stay here again. - vmi1962
Aug 2016 - $40.00
This park sits up on the hillside. There are a few sites that have views of the town. They are more $. We got there late and it was the only site left, so the manager gave it to us for the non view price.
The staff is very nice and helpful. The restrooms are small private bathrooms with the sink, toilet and shower in a small room. Very nice and very clean.
This park is very close to Sinks Canyon, which is a must see State Park.
We would stay here again. - JoyceG

The park has closed.
I called to make reservations and the message said they had retired and the park is closed. - sfrantz
Aug 2014 - $30.00
This is a very nice small park, well taken care of. Large level gravel pads with manicured grass at each site. Lander is a small town with lots to see and do. Highly recommended. Better make reservations well in advance, if possible. - User3654
