3 Parks near Rock Springs, Wyoming
Oct 2016 - $43.00
I am an idiot. I stayed in this same park a couple of years ago in the summer and noted that the smell from the huge oil tanks adjacent to the park and the dust was horrid. Well, I made an error and came here again, thinking it was another KOA. Entrance road is paved. Rest of the park is gravel and dirt. Previous reviews mentioned mud. It is not mud. It is ooze - light brown, sticky, wet, ooze. And it is everywhere. Many campers were moving from site to site trying to find a site where their jacks could not sink. The upper part of the park is for permanent residents and has lots of gravel on the ground and good drainage; and the drainage is down to the over night sites. I recommend if you come here and there is rain in the forecast, bring rubber boots. The place needs about another 1000 yard of gravel. I would have given this place a 1, but they did put in a nice grass off leash dog run - so you can grow grass here and not just rocks. Note that the utilities are in the middle of the site, so you may need an extension to reach the electric, etc. Cable worked well although it was a wire that was underwater! Bring a flashlight since it is very dark at night. Some noise from the adjacent I-80. Lots of wind. I have again promised to never ever come here again. - okdiver

This is a gravel lot which is very typical of this area. The services all worked well and convenient. The roads are easy to navigate lots of space to maneuver a big rig. Spaces between are average. The staff is good. Good overnight place. - JDR
Sep 2016 - $40.00
Stayed on night in W/E site across from the office.
Gravel pull thru site that was fine for one night. Utilities in this area of the park are between the sites, so your rig faces one direction, your neighbor faces the opposite - "forced" friendship!
The check-in staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Wifi was good.
I would definitely request another site if we were staying for more than a night or 2. Having said that, we would stay here again. - DCM/JMB
Sep 2016 - $21.00
Rate reflects the price for one night with FMCA discount of 15%. This RV park is on the grounds of the Sweetwater Event Center; yes there are over 1200 sites most with full-hookups and 50amps. The roadways and sites are all gravel; some are more level than others and some wider than others. We figured the stretch to water and sewer for our site (P-155) was about 35' from the middle of our 40' motorhome. Only the front half of the campground is open at this time of year. Maintenance crew was shutting off the water at many of the sites as well. If the Caretaker is unavailable, you can check in at the Event Center office during business hours. - DiplomatTraveler
Sep 2016 - $25.00
Chose this campground because of its price-service value. With FHU, level sites, easy access, you can't beat the price. Campground is huge, although parts of it are blocked off for the season. Of the 200 or so sites available, only a couple dozen were occupied. As other reviewers have said, the utilities are a bit oddly arranged, but we found them to be easily accessed, and they functioned fine. When checking in with the friendly on-site caretaker, she advised us to select any empty site, and, with our 38' motor home and toad, they were quite lenient in how we parked in the (normally) back-in sites. We angled in, taking up two spaces, and parking our car in a third space. When you first see the sites, it is true its a little confusing about how to hook up to the utilities, all located behind a fence, but it takes just a few seconds to figure out. I've added pictures to show the arrangement, and how we hooked up. Sites are all very level with shared utilities located between sites at the back (if you back in.) We don't really understand the complaints of other reviewers, especially when they are so lenient about how you park. The bathrooms and showers are very private, each located in a separate locking unit with shower, toilet and sink. We didn't use them, so I can't say anything about the temperature or force of water in the showers, but they were clean and modern, and we wouldn't have hesitated to use them. Located right next to the fairgrounds and events complex, you could walk to any public events scheduled there. There were no events at the speedway while we were here so I can't comment on any noise issues. - MissMyGolden
Jul 2016 - $25.00
We camped here a week before the fair. The park was almost empty. Entrance is just past the main entry to the north. Follow signs to the caretakers house in the group of trees to check in. The sites are back-in but was told that since we were just staying one night we could just parallel park. All utilities are at the back of the site behind what looks to be newer 2 rail wood fence, easy access to utilities. - catrst
Jun 2015 - $10.00
This park is wonderful! A little out of the way but if you want to relax in a quite area, this is the place. It is beautiful to look at all the way around. I had read that it was hard to find. We didn't have a problem. Just 12 miles off the 1-91 and it is clearly marked. It is windy, perhaps that is just this time of the year. We did not use it, but there outside areas in every camp site that are covered. We saw all kinds of families using their patio areas.
Camp Host was friendly.....the whole experience was wonderful and we would come back again. - Brandl

High rating for the wonderful views. The views make it worth the long trip into the park. Really good gravel pads. Sunrise and sunset are absolutely unbelievable. - mjtesky
Aug 2010 - $9.00
As other reviews have noted, this place is a ways of the Interstate but the roads are paved and in good condition. It is a beautiful location and a great place to just enjoy the peace and quiet, or to do some fishing and hiking. All of the sites are back-ins and have covered ramadas with tables. Some are double except as signed you pay only a single fee for them. There are no hookups but water is available and there is a dump station. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We will camp here again when in the area. The rate reflects our Golden Age discount. - hwybnb
