I would have given this CG a 10 as it is very nice but it's taken over by ATV's and ATV Campers! Many do not abide by slow speed or driving back and forth in CG. The same with cars driving too fast in CG creating dust especially on the weekends. We stayed in site 9 with a 35 ft MH and site was almost level with a beautiful view of the meadow and mountains and plenty of shade. The CG is about a mile off the highway on gravel but it's wide enough to meet rvers. CG is about 20 miles east of Ten Sleep. We camped at Sitting Bull Campground (Bighorn Natl Forest) in a Motorhome.

Typical, beautiful forest service campground with big sites. Beautiful views from some sites. Very quiet mid week. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Sitting Bull Campground (Bighorn Natl Forest) in a Travel Trailer.

If you have the courage to venture off the beaten path just a little this treasure awaits! Sitting Bull is one of the most scenic campgrounds we have visited. The drive to and from is beautiful and well worth the time. We were uncertain if we would feel comfortable making the drive in a 36' Class A but it turned out to be no trouble. The sites are well-maintained, reasonably level, nicely spaced, private and all come with the spectacular views you only get in the mountains. We camped at Sitting Bull Campground (Bighorn Natl Forest) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Do it! Our only wish is we would have stayed longer. The evening we spent at Sitting Bull was a highlight of a three week trip to the western national parks.

The sites along the meadow are the best. Easy to get rv's in and out. This is a very remote location but if you enjoy being in nature in a beautiful area, this place could be for you. It gets cold at night, 29 degrees when we were here in late August! We camped at Sitting Bull Campground (Bighorn Natl Forest) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for one night while passing through the area and would definitely recommend this campground to anyone that has a self-contained RV and is looking for a bit of solitude. We had no cell service and our satellite TV antenna didn't have a chance because of all of the trees. The camp hosts were very nice and helpful. The campground did not fill up the evening that we were there but we stayed during the middle of the week. We feel sure that this campground would be much busier on the weekends. We camped at Sitting Bull Campground (Bighorn Natl Forest) in a Travel Trailer.

This was a stopover on our way home from Yellowstone, but we could easily have stayed longer. The campground is in a beautiful location, the sites are large and well-spaced and although we missed it, we were told by another camper there was a mother and baby moose down by the river. Both the sunset and sunrise on the mountains was gorgeous, the campground was quiet and probably because of the time of the year - we didn't have any neighbors. We will definitely come back when we have more time to enjoy this campground. We camped at Sitting Bull Campground (Bighorn Natl Forest) in a Travel Trailer.

Camped here last night. No services. They do have vault toilets. 32 degrees this morning. Never unhooked the truck. This place is a 10. Moose in the cg. Beautiful meadow with the sun shining over it this morning. The thunder of running water (Karen tells me) when we went to bed. There were only 5 other campers in the park. We camped at Sitting Bull Campground (Bighorn Natl Forest) in a Fifth Wheel.

Location, location location. Large enough for big rigs. Nice site next to meadow. Lots of wildlife including Moose. Good spacing between campsites. No cell phone access makes it perfect! We camped at Sitting Bull Campground (Bighorn Natl Forest) in a Fifth Wheel.

Sitting Bull CG is located in the Bighorn Mts. at approximately 8,600 feet. Located 43 miles west of Buffalo, Wy or 20 miles east of the town of Ten Sleep. There are some steep grades but they do have passing lanes and turnouts. Nice CG with sites that average 16 x 60 ft. and can easily accommodate any size RV. Vault toilets that were cleaned daily. There is water in the cg with some of the faucets threaded. All of the sites have fire rings with a grate and large picnic tables. We were in site #23 (some sites have more sun than others) and we were able to get our dome satellite in. No cell or Aircard service here but we were able to use our cell phone in the town of Ten Sleep which is 20 miles to the west. Beautiful drive, you won’t be disappointed! This campground allows ATV’s to be ridden in and out of the campground to the numerous trails in the area. We found the riders to be very courteous when riding in and out of the campground. If you have your Golden Age pass use it, the price is $7.00.. Stock up on food as there are no markets in the area. We camped at Sitting Bull Campground (Bighorn Natl Forest) in a Motorhome.
