This is a nice little park and you can't beat the price, but we had site number 7 and I wouldn't take it again because the electric plug in didn't work and it is right under a light post (hard to sleep in a tent). The other not good thing was the faucet in the ladies rest room didn't have a handle so you need to take a pliers with you to turn it. We camped at Pioneer Park in a Tent.

This is a really nice RV Park. No frills, but it has everything you need. The cement pads make leveling a breeze. It has 14 sites with water and 20/30amp at each one and 20/30/50amp at 8 of the sites but eventually all sites will have 50amp included. There is lighting in the park, dumpsters and a dump station. There are no reservations; it's first come, first serve. The city park is a short walk that has a covered picnic areas, restrooms, play structures, disc golfing and horseshoe pits. There is a Fire Department Drill Field also located next to the RV Park but there were no drills going on when we arrived. We met the Department Head of Water & Wastewater who manages the RV Park. He is very friendly and told us a little history about the park and told us how to pay for our spot. There is a metal mail box at the entrance that contains an envelope of information for the RV Park and an envelope to fill out and put your money or check in. Once completed you deposit the envelope into the mail slot. He also gave us the code for the water spigot so we wouldn't have to call City Hall to get it as that is the usual procedure. All of this is posted on a sign at the entrance of the RV Park. There were two fifth wheels at the park when we arrived, one belonged to a couple of construction workers that are in town working on the college and the other belonged to a single lady. This is a very quiet park and beautifully maintained. The city of Torrington has a lot of historic buildings, not much to do, but worth exploring. I would recommend checking Yelp for dining options. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for an overnight stay or up to 10 days. We camped at Pioneer Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go into the city of Torrington along Main Street and explore. Golf course is located a mile from the RV park. Be sure to have a water regulator as the water pressure was at 55lbs.

Agree with the two previous ratings. My on only complaint; the RV park is a part of and adjacent to the city park. Consequently, lots of young people use the park facilities - basketball, etc. Being young, they tend to drive a bit FAST and do so through the RV park area.

When calling into the city offices (police), they responded within 15 minutes. While all the sites are back-in, a couple may be accessed by driving around the back/riverside road and pulling through - sites 10 and eleven and possibly twelve only. We travel in a 40 RV, and concrete pad is just large enough to contain it with the jacks down. Sat usage is iffy when parking in the back row (Seven thru twelve) due to trees We will use the park again, if we pass through the area. We camped at Pioneer Park in a Motorhome.

We arrived in the afternoon and found an open site. This is a city park. Water spigots require a combination for unlocking. The City Hall or the Police can give the combination to you. The sites have a cement slab and picnic table. Very level. Plenty of room between sites for our slideouts. No sewer connection, but the dump station is close-by. We would stay here again if we are traveling through the area. We camped at Pioneer Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Torrington golf course was just a mile away from the campground. The course is closed on Monday mornings...until 1pm. Nice course, but the back nine has some flood damage and isn't as nice as the front nine.

The Bronco's Bar and Grill has great hamburgers and adult beverages. Non-alcoholics drinks, too.

JacknPeg's review was accurate. This is a little strange because the navigator (yours truly) screwed up the plan, and we got there at about noon. Way to early for EOD. So, we looked around and let the dog have her "grass stop". DW did use the bathroom. The big problem that I saw was that the instruction board d is not in your face as you arrive. So, we had lunch and left. I only saw two picnic tables, maybe the others are under the shelter. Kind of too bad we did want to end the day then. We camped at Pioneer Park in a Motorhome.

This park is a real gem! We stayed here just one night and were very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. You can tell it has been recently renovated and all sites have concrete pads, electric and water. You do have to call to get the combination to unlock the water, or the police will come out and do it for you. We talked to a city employee and he said they were still hoping to make additional improvements like clearing out brush near the river so you could see it and adding sewer. We could not believe how clean and nice this park was and only $10/night. They have a 10 day stay limit. The city park is right next to it and is very well maintained, too. They even had a dump station. Really nice park! We camped at Pioneer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Deacon Restaurant right next to the railroad tracks on the main road coming into Torrington from the south was an excellent restaurant. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Very reasonable prices.

There was a lot of improvements done in 2014. 14 total sites. All are dead level concrete pads surrounded by gravel. Didn't measure but Class A's would still have room left over. They are also wide enough that you have patio room. Each one has 30A power and water. Site 6 has 50A as well as 30A. City is making a lot of improvements. One of the city personnel said additional improvements would be more trees, a better view of the river and with some funding adding sewer connections at each site. There is a major railroad track about 8 blocks away but even with heavy coal traffic it really couldn't be heard. Verizon was 1-2 bars LTE which seems to be normal for Torrington. We camped at Pioneer Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a good museum in town, the Homesteaders Museum, worth visiting. To the west is Fort Laramie National Historic Site. About 30 minutes out of town is the award winning Wyoming winery, Table Mtn Winery. Worth a trip for a tasting.

The camp ground is in need of some help. Also, the pay box has been destroyed and of no use. Cost is $10 for electric and water; however, the water was not turned on at the time of visit. It was a quite place, OK for a night or 2 especially if all you want to do is rest up. Would we stay here yes, as we did not pay due to the box. We camped at Pioneer Park in a Motorhome.
