The staff is very pleasant. Power was great until there was a flooding rain.....certainly not their fault. We were by a horse pasture. Saw mule deer there almost daily. The food is good, but overpriced. Staff members walked our dogs for us. We paid them 10$/walk. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Do Buffalo Bill Dam.....short but worth it. Pack lunches. The food in the park is not that good and pricey. If you go into the national park be prepared to be gone 7-12 hours.

We stayed in a 25 ft TT. The sites are very close. The roads and sites are all thin layer of gravel that allows mud to form in rain. The manager is very nice; the electric, water, and sewer work just fine. There is a table at each site and a small ring of rocks for a fire, but I would fear being too close to neighbor to light a fire. There a no trees among the sites. The location is safe and does okay for visiting Yellowstone NP and Cody, WY. I would look for a better park to stay in since this is average and the cost is high for what you get. If I could not get into a better park, I would stay here again. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is 30 miles from East Gate at Yellowstone, NP. You can drive about one hour to Red Lodge, MT and drive the beautiful Beartooth Highway. The park is about 20 miles to Cody where you can see Buffalo Bill Cody Reservoir and tour dam. There is an old Frontier Town with buildings and wagons from the 1800's that have been relocated to the site. There is also the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum of the West.

Our sites are 35' wide and 60-65' long. we are in the big rig book and handle all the big rigs that don't fit in Yellowstone sites. We are high desert so 7" of rain annually means low humidity and no mosquitoes! Arguably the best summer weather in America. People are constantly amazed at our 50* temps at night and can sit out without being carried away by bugs! We are the closest full service RV park to the east gate of Yellowstone. We are a Good Sam park and our reps were just here inspecting our facility and informing us of the rates at other RV parks around Yellowstone so we know we are priced right for our location to the park and what we offer. We have the only heated pool and indoor hot tub in this entire 52 mi valley. clean restrooms and laundry and a 5 star chef! Free WIFI that works great. Ron

The site we were in was short, level and tight and was a gravel space with no grass around. But we were fortunate to get the last site in a crowded region. They went out of thier way to fit us in so no room to gripe on our part. Nice restaurant , bar and an awesome view of the river running adjacent to the park. Great folks who made sure we had a place to stop for the night. The pull through sites were full but looked nice! We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Roads and sites supposed to be gravel but is more dirt than gravel which becomes a dust storm when the wind blows or to mud when it rains. The staff was friendly, sites are spaced nicely, the restaurant/ saloon has a nice atmosphere and the food and service is excellent. The owner could greatly improve this facility and it's ratings by adding a lot of gravel to the roads and sites. We chose this campground because Wapiti was closer to Yellowstone than Cody but on the next trip, we'll drive the extra distance to stay out of the mud. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We hauled in 12 truck loads of rock after you left and now it's much better and no mud. We haven't been accustomed to doing that as we have a box blade and can usually drag it around and reset the rock but we just had the worst winter in 100 yrs (144"!!) and had to buy a snow blade and that apparently ground and packed our gravel down so we replaced it as time allowed and RVs moved out so we could spread it on the sites. I'll know better next time we get a crazy bad winter. I think if you stay in Cody the next time you'll discover what a quiet peaceful gem we actually are in comparisson to the busy noisy city setting. Ron

Tips for other Campers:

While staying here we visited Yellowstone National Park which was about a 30 minute drive to the entrance, but the scenery and wildlife sightings made it seem shorter. We saw a bear one morning and and a huge herd of elk another day and this was outside the park.

We also visited Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody and it was really nice also.

Really convenient location for east entrance of Yellowstone. Place has hotel, cabins and rv park. Restaurant (expensive) and bar on site. Did not venture to pool or hot tub since bathrooms were so dirty. Private bathroom/showers were very dirty and not from just a day or two of neglect. Very friendly staff. Good value at ppa rates since anything associated with Yellowstone is $$$. Lots of pull thru fhu sites 30/50 amp. Good gravel pads with picnic table and fire ring. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a clean park with distant traffic noise, though very little at night.

Sites are wide, unshaded, near-level gravel in various lengths, separated by more gravel. Each site has a picnic table. Voltage is good. The gravel is thin in places which, in wet weather, become muddy.

Roads are gravel in good condition.

WiFi is strong; I measured 400.2 kB/s down. I needed to log in again every day. I really wish parks would follow the WPA2 standard.

Terrestrial broadcast TV: CBS, CW, PBS.

Laundry: 4 top-loaders ($2), 3 working dryers ($2). I was constantly bumping my head on the low woodwork above the dryers.

The showers are clean and private, but lack a place to sit while dressing.

Staff are friendly and helpful. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seven night stay. Well managed, clean, and convenient to Cody, Yellowstone, Sunlight Basin and Beartooth. Very nice and helpful lady manning front desk. Saw mule deer on the grounds, and largest herd of Elk (Wapiti) we had ever seen just across the highway. Buttes also visible from our window. It does get windy in this valley. I don't know if the park cleaned the showers and toilet facilities daily or not but they needed cleaning both days we were there. The park is just gravel, no trees but lots of room between campsites.
Some campers left things behind and 2 days later they were still there. Someone really needs to checks the sites after campers leave. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Decided to do a last minute trip to Yellowstone, during prime visiting time, and this was the only place that has availability for our dates. Yes, it's a gravel parking lot with no charm whatsoever, but we didn't hang around our RV except to sleep in it. It's a great location between Cody and Yellowstone, if that's what you're looking for. We didn't use any amenities, but visually that playground for the kids has definitely seen some better days. Also, they have the worst wifi we have encountered in a long time. But like I said, we only parked our RV here to sleep in, and left all day. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

I was told it was close to Yellowstone Park but coming in from East side it was a travel. I would have preferred staying on West entrance after exploring. The restaurant at camp ground has great food offerings. The river really has no access to it steep bank.

Thanks for staying with us. We are the closest full serve RV park to the east entrance and by staying on this side of the park there is so much more to do and see. A trip to this area isn't just about Yellowstone. The best day trip in this area is north from Cody 16 mi then west 42 mi toward the NE entrance to Yellowstone on Chief Joseph Scenic Hwy and then right over the Beartooth Mtns to Red Lodge, Montana. the highway winds around right over the 12000' peak. Absolutely the best day trip out here. About 5 hrs going and 1 1/2 hrs to get home with no mtns to drive over on the return trip. Also Cody Wy lists 53 things to do in Cody on the chamber site including the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum. The number rated western museum in the world and Old Trail Town and the Cody Trolley. We think this is the best side to stay on for sure!

We stayed in 1st week of September- a lot of empty spaces. Rate of $24 was with Passport America- for Water/Electric; but there is a $5 charge for Dump Station. Restroom/showers were smaller, but clean and decent. The washers/dryers required $2 each. Sites were gravel and level; bar and restaurant on the property; morning buffet breakfast was basic and adequate for the price; appears as all sites are pull-through and easy to get into and out of. We would stay here again if passing through. In talking with several other visitors, it seems they keep the full hook-up for longer term visitors- attempting to keep the one nighters from coming in and dumping full holding tanks and creating problems for the septic system; makes sense.... We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Having stayed in several RV parks in our travels from the Carolina's to Yellowstone I must say this place is a great stop!!! Low humidity and temps in the 70's. A bit windy but it's Wyoming. The view's were Amazing like waking up to a post card every morning. Lots of wildlife nearby. We seen a large elk herd just down the road on our way into town.

Our site was level and clean. We bought propane at a great price and used the shower house many times. It was very clean and water was hot. I liked having the extra security locks on the shower house door for my wife and kids. The laundry was clean an priced in reason. We ate at the restaurant and were impressed by the food. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar was awesome. We played pool and sang karaoke.

Great place !! Great value. We will definitely recommend to any one. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We wanted to be close to the park and didn't want the longer drive from Cody. This was as it turns out to be the best choice. The views were awesome, Wapiti valley is amazing, saw a herd of Elk by the road.

The laundry and bathrooms were fine, the kids had a great time in the pool. After a long hike the wife and I enjoyed the hot tub very much.

Unlike a lot of parks, here there is a bar and very good restaurant. We needed to dump so the guys come and pumped our tanks for $15. which we thought was reasonable, do it yourself $5. Everyone we met was nice to us, enjoyed our stay. Makes a good base camp to explore the park. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for three nights the weather was pleasant and staff were polite and courteous, took advantage of staff recommendations and went over blue tooth pass off of chief Joseph highway ,it was fabulous ,but would only do it in our pull behind as recommended . We enjoyed the bar and was welcomed by Courtney and her husband Friday evening it was great. The karooke was on Friday and Saturday and we had a great time watching some of the staff sing . The view around the rv park was astonishing. I would recommend the park anytime.when we come back thru from Ohio again next year we plan to stay again and see more of Cody.
