We stayed here four nights with a 42' MH towing our jeep. We had a nice level 90' site on a end cap. Perfect for us with pets. Park was well managed and clean. Great location for bike trails, walking and a few good Restaurants. We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Motorhome.

Very clean and well maintained. Close to Teton Village and Jackson. We would definitely stay here again.

Only negative comment I could make would be the laundry room which only had two washers working. Everything else was great!! We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Motorhome.

Don't buy wood at the office there. Very expensive. Much cheaper at Smith's grocery store in town. $3.99 a bundle at the grocery store.

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $135.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 7 nights in July 2018 in a "Premium Pull Through" site. We paid $135/night plus 2% Lodging Tax plus 4% State Tax plus 2% Teton Tax plus 7% Resort Fee. Total paid was $1,086.75 or $155.25 avg per night. If you haven't already gathered, Jackson is very popular and the entire area is expensive in every way. There are not many choices for big rigs and full hookups especially if you want to be anywhere near town. This park is a little tight to maneuver in and the sites are by no means spacious. The utilities were well positioned and worked perfectly. Wifi was great during the day but slow in the evening. We had clear sky for DirecTV. We loved this area and enjoyed our time here. The park isn't perfect and the price is painful but it's where we wanted to be and it delivered what it promised. If in the area, I would be willing to stay again. Here are a few navigating tips. 1. If you are coming from the East (we drove from Cody through Yellowstone & Grand Teton), stay on Highway 191. Do NOT take Moose Wilson Road as a shortcut ... as our GPS instructed). Moose Wilson Road has a sign right away saying it is not for trucks/RVs. Fortunately there was an area immediately where we could turn off. We had to unhook our toad and drive separately (back on 191) the remaining 17 miles to the CG. Fortunately no harm/no foul. You will have to drive through downtown Jackson but it's do-able. 2. Our GPS guided us right to the entrance of the CG. When headed north on Moose Wilson Road, look for the "Calico Bar & Restaurant" sign on the right. Slow way down and be prepared to turn hard right into a gravel road narrow enough to almost be a one lane road. You'll drive past a row of nifty modern wood cabins, under an archway and then you'll see the office/check-in area. 3. If heading West when leaving, do NOT take the 22. It is a mountain pass with a 10% grade. We were advised to take 191 to Hoback then 89 to 26 to Idaho Falls (beautiful scenery) to catch the I-15. We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Persephone Bakery in downtown Jackson has the most amazing cinnamon rolls. Cafe Genevieve was so-so but their candied bacon appetizer was interesting and worth a try. Enjoy a drink while saddled up (literally sitting in a saddle) at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. We loved the walking/biking path. You can catch it in front of the CG and go anywhere on it. Rent a canoe at beautiful Lake Jenny. The Ariel Tram is ridiculously expensive but a must do if visiting the area. The view is spectacular.

When there are no other places to stay....I guess you can get whatever rate you want. For 155.00 a night, I sure expected more. I've stayed in $25-$30 sites better than these. We are talking dirt/gravel roads and dirt sites in poor shape - landscaping, deep holes, etc. If you can find something elsewhere, I'd sure say try it. My next trip up into this part of the country, I'll book 6-8 months early. I will say they had the absolute best internet we've had in many years of travel....27-32 mbps. We came in during a rain shower, the park was a mud hole, gravel in our trailer site, dirt (mud) everywhere else. The green between trailers was more weeds than grass, the fire pits were holes in the ground , way over priced. We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This park is pretty with a lot of trees. Getting in with a big rig is pretty tight but we didn't really have any problems. The site was probably the most level one we've stayed in. My one complaint, besides the place being overpriced, is that the day we got there I asked to move into the empty campsite in the row right in front of us, I even said we would move the next day since there was someone coming in the night we got there. The office person took about 10 minutes looking at his computer and then offered me 3 other sites that were $30 a night more than the $109 we were already paying. We decided not to move because the price was already very expensive. Then we sat there looking at the spot I wanted to move to sitting empty the entire time. Super irritating! FYI, the spot we wanted to move to was the same price as the one we were in??? We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Motorhome.

Yes,that's how much we paid for a pull-through 30amp site with poorly situated utilities. The fire pit was just outside our door, but to avoid it I had to pull out beyond the reach of my electrical shore line. We solved that problem by pulling the picnic table over the fire pit to keep from accidentally falling in at night. When I complained about poor signage I was told "I can refund your money and you can go on down the road." (I regret I did not take him up on the offer, but I was very tired after a 400 mile drive that day, and the thought of trying to find an alternative in August late in the day led me to stay.) Turns out, there were full hookups INSIDE THE NATIONAL PARK for less than half what I paid here!. One positive: great wifi even though we were far from the office. No dog park, but a great place for dog play nearby. (See below) , We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a park on the river just north of the intersection of Wyoming 22 and 390 that is a great place for dogs to play off leash in the river. I got the phone number from looking up "Jackson Campground". Turns out there is no signage with that name, but one sign says "Fireside Resort". There were many small driveways adjacent to the entrance driveway which was very confusing, and the traffic on the road makes slowing down to look difficult.

This is not a resort. There is no pool, spa, play areas or dog parks. The sites, for the most part, are very close with hookups in strange places. Our neighbor's sewer hookup is in the midst of our outside living space, just a few small steps from our fire pit. The fire pit (all fire pits in the park) is a hole dug in the ground with some bricks haphazardly places around the edge. The grass has grown too high. The service is great, with friendly staff and quick responses to problems. The wifi is one of the best we have had in a park. Very expensive for what it is, but close to the National Park, Jackson, Teton Village and more. We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Motorhome.

"Premium" site was tight and barely enough room for 37' MH+car. Could not put out awning due to close tall shrubs (but they provided some shade). Grassy area had small potholes that you couldn't see (grass was thick) so walking was a bit treacherous. Fire rings were just a small hole in the ground lined with a few bricks. You hope no one will use them because you 'll choke on the smoke. Picnic table was OK. We only ended up in here because there was nothing else available when we booked months ago. And I guess they take advantage of that! This was the Most expensive rv park we ever stayed in. WiFi was good, staff were friendly. As other reviewers have said, their aren't many good options in this area. The good here is that the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rest is really disappointing. First, this is not a "resort". There are no amenities beyond pretty good wifi. No cable, pool, playground, exercise room or clubhouse as you would expect at a "resort". The sites are gravel, not really level and very narrow. For a big rig, the turns are very tight, but doable. There are plenty of trees so satellite reception could be a challenge. We looked at all the options and the reviews and found this to be the best option, but that's not saying much. My guess is this is an old park that has new ownership & management that should either invest in or drop the "resort" from the name. We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are sites without tree overhang. Ask for one. The Tetons are to the east and most sites line up patio side to the west. The "Roadhouse Restaurant & Brewery" just down the street has a new chef & is more of a gastropub than the BBQ theme that shows up on website reviews. As disappointed as we were with Fireside, it was the exact opposite at Roadhouse where we had an excellent meal.

This is hard to rate because the park is so incredibly expensive. However, unless you reserve months in advance, you can't get into one of the national park or forest service campgrounds. The local KOA couldn't accommodate our 37 foot rig. Long story short, we were stuck. Our site, 92, was located on the exterior edge with beautiful woods and a stream around us. The site was gorgeous and quite long. The water and electrical connections were appropriately placed but the sewer connection was uphill and behind the camper. The WiFi connection was OK. The laundry was exceptionally clean but there were only 4 washers. The park was very quiet. Jackson has an elaborate network of paved biking/walking trails and the campground is adjacent to one of the trails. The location in Wilson was ideal for exploring the national park and for enjoying the amenities in Jackson Hole. So, the biggest beef with this park is the price. We sucked it up and did 2 nights here JUST to see the things we wanted to see in Jackson. We paid $275 total for this 2 nights! The park IS close to most of what you want to do in Jackson. So if you plan ahead, you can see and do a lot.

The sites are RIDICULOUSLY close together. And the stray cats roaming around leave a bad impression. As do the "permanent resident" campers. Lots of personal items strewn about, but yet the rules say you can't even put out a rug or a mat! They might want to relook at the big picture. We booked the campground for a week but left after just a couple of days because it was overly crowded, very noisy all night long, poor management and no supervision when there is a problem. We will never go back and stay there. It was a terrible experience and ruined our vacation. They moved us from our original site so I don't remember the site #.
