For the Yukon, this is a pretty nice RV park. Our site was a 50' long level gravel back-in with FHU 30A. Site was about 16' wide allowing room for slideouts on both sides of RV. The park has a variety of back ins and pull thrus with some sites large enough for big rigs. The interior gravel roads are generally wide enough for easy back in although it might depend on the site and your backing skill. Utilities worked fine. Most sites have partial to full shade. Shrubs generally separate sites. Some trees and shrubs need trimming to stay off of the rigs. Park wifi is useless. TELUS has a 2 bar cell signal with LTE data. Park has limited cable TV with 1 US channel and about 15 Canadian channels. Our cable signal was scratchy but viewable. Having recently stayed at both this campground and nearby Pioneer, I like Hi Country better. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

As stated by others they need to trim some trees and bushes

Many of the pull through sites are at fairly sharp angles

They also tend to have trees right at the corners

Many of these trees have been hit repeatedly and have all the bark knocked off

They need to get the picture and clean up the sites

The site they first assigned me for my 43' 4 slide motorhome was entirely too narrow and the entry angle was impossible

Had to back all the way out to the office and start over with a new site suited to my rig's size

The staff was friendly and helpful

The hookups were ok

Cable tv is almost worthless

The wifi is free.....

For 90 minutes

Then you are asked to pay to keep going

There must be an airport very close as we had to listen to choppers, jets, etc constantly

Road noise is bad as well

As I write this several dogs are having a barking contest and no one is supervising them. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

I chose this park cause it was the closest to downtown Whitehorse.

Didn't use any of the facilities so I can't comment on them.

I have one major gripe about the park and that was it's power supply.

I had the 20 amp site and any time I tried to use the microwave or hot water heater the voltage would drop to 103 volts (I have a volt/amp meter on the system) and my Progressive Industries EMS system would trip out for protection purposes. If you don't have an EMS system no problem but beware low voltage could potentially damage electronic equipment. So to say the least if I'm back in the area I'll try a different campground and maybe I'll get more than a half hour free of wifi. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you use a electrical management system and stay at the 20 amp site and place a moderate load on it the voltage will drop to a point where the system will take you off line.

We have a really nice site backing onto forest. The sites are larger than most we've encountered in the Yukon. Staff are friendly and park is very clean, they even have recycle! Really close to town so very convenient. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed one night on our way north and three days on our way back south. Both times were enjoyable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Amenities are clean and well kept. Roads and sites are gravel but had a few potholes. The site is just a few minutes from Whitehorse but far enough out of town to avoid the noise. Some sites back onto a road and were probably effected by noise. We were in a back in site and had no issues except one; a fox kept visiting at night. The sites are close together and people with the large camper trailers and motorhomes were having some difficulty navigating the roads. There are two sites at the end of each pull through line, that could easily be removed to make life easier for the patrons. People with double slides couldn't open their awnings at most of the sites due to being too narrow. Fires were allowed in the pits provided but the wood was very pricey at 7 bucks Canadian for a small bundle. Overall we liked the site for our stay and will certainly stop here again. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the Northern Tours Fishing trips. Our guide put us right on the fish. The Transport Museum was interesting and the Downtown nightlife is close to what you get in major center. Lots of history in this town. Check out what you can. You will need a minimum of three days minus the fishing. We will be back for sure!!

Stayed 3 nights on the way to Alaska. Good park with good services. Sites were tight with some easy to access and some quite tight. Some highway noise but not too bad. Sites are close but some separation with trees. May or may not be room for awnings. Would stay again for sure. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an ok place to spend the night while passing through or while you need to access the shopping/services in Whitehorse if you need hookups. The spaces are narrow and close together, but at least they have some trees and bushes between to give some tiny feeling of privacy. Didn't use them, but the restroom/showers looked to be nice and clean and modern. The laundry room looked ok too, but at $3 per washer load I decided to pass. Also the washers use dollar coins but the dryers use quarters. A bit difficult to be sure you have the needed coins on hand but I assume you can get some from the office as long as it's open. The lower cost, back-in sites are only 20 amp. Not a problem for us, but could be for others. Our back-in site also backed up to the other row of back ins behind so you had neighbors on both sides and in the rear. Very tight space. And even this early in June the place was almost full (except for the dry camping sites), so I would suggest reservations if possible. At $12 per night, the Yukon government campgrounds are absolutely the way to go around here, but if you need to hook up, this might be your best bet near Whitehorse. Oh, and they charge for the wi-fi. Don't remember the price per hour, but for the day it's $8. I just used my cell data plan. Got three bars and good internet connection. If we came through this area again, I'd try to plan better and use the unserviced government campgrounds instead. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Nice campground for a visit to Whitehorse. We had a pull-thru site which was just long enough. The sites are close together but there are bushes and trees between them so you don't feel cramped. The site was level, had good hook-ups and was easy to get into and out of. The roads are a bit narrow and when people park in them, they are a even narrower. There is a vehicle wash but there are sand roads both south and north along the Alaska Hwy so I'd wash later - in Tok or Watson Lake.
We would stay here again. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed Whitehorse. We visited the cool paddlewheel boat, the trolley and walked along the river walk. We also hiked off the Mills Canyon Road and over the suspension bridge - fun hiking on the lake cliffs. Try the Burnt Toast for breakfast - very good.

Lots of positive things about this park with just a few drawbacks. First the good: clean restrooms, nice (free) showers, free coffee, located close enough to downtown Whitehorse, great staff, good connections, and reasonable price.
Now the things which need improvements:
1) The playground is not situated in a good spot and my wife said it's basically "unusable" with where it is positioned. She felt you had to walk through people's sites to get to it and if kids are on the swings, you are almost swinging into someone's rig.
2) You get 30 mins free wifi per device, then it's pay as you go......if that's the case, then it should be pretty good....it wasn't. At least we could connect, but the speeds were pretty slow around 10pm.
3) The design and layout are challenging. Spaces are tight, not so much with other rigs, but with the narrow strip of trees that separate each site. Take a look at those trees about 6-10 feet up - lots of bark and wood chunks taken out of them....with people's rigs! We almost fell victim to losing our slide out cover. Be Careful! It was difficult to maneuver through this park due to the narrow streets and sites. I also watched some poor dude's trying to back their large 5ers into narrow spots without much room to maneuver their tow vehicles due to foliage and trees. I recommend the owners take a good look at their trees and look to start trimming some stuff back, at this point I'm sure it's too tough to do a re-design of the site layouts.
4) lastly, the dump station is in the middle of a road with several sites around it. I'm glad our site wasn't too close, there was a pretty good aroma wafting through the air around it. If you choose your site, look for one's a little farther away.

Overall though, good place, good value, and we would stay here again....carefully! Make sure you have someone watch you from the outside as you pull in and out of your site! We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Watch your rig coming in AND pulling out!
Hit the visitor center in Whitehorse and ask for the 3 day visitor parking pass. They also have free wifi that's fast.
Go check out the SS Klondike.
Skip the Klondike Rib and Salmon BBQ restaurant - overpriced and food was mediocre. Rated #1 on Trip Advisor - not sure why.

This park is a good place to stay while traveling the Alaska highway. It is close to the highway, but so close that noise is a problem. The sites have some trees between them and have picnic tables. Most sites are quite short and will require you to unhook your tow vehicle. I wish that I had asked for a longer site when reserving. Staff wasn't overly friendly, but answered questions if asked. Wi-fi worked great at our campsite. You get a 1/2 hour for free and then you pay for more time if you choose. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice looking office and store. Park itself is rather large and meandering. Be careful as you navigate through it. It was easy for me to take a wrong turn. As large as it is, the sites are still pretty tight- typical of what we have seen in Canada. We had to park the truck behind the trailer. With slideouts expanded, we were not able to walk along the side of the trailer to get to the door without going into an adjoining space. Other spaces may or may not have that issue. All utilities work well. Some hookups are at the front of the space, some at the end. Internet is ala carte. You get 30 min of heavily restricted usage per 24 hours. Can purchase more. Has a large RV wash station with concrete pad. Laundry room is clean. Machines are newer. Very nice staff. Our stay was quiet and pleasant. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is a little outside of town and in a wooded area so road noise is reduced. Wonderful gift store and the sites were good. especially the back-in sites. The pull-throughs were a little tight side to side with the slideouts but we made it work. My favorite part was they offered 30 minutes of free Internet and then a pay service (at $7.95 a day). It was by far the best Internet we experienced in Canada and well worth the money for us at that point. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is right as you come into Whitehorse on the Alcan, and is very convenient. The sites however are very tight We had a back in for our 28' tt, and it just fit in. The interior roads were mostly mud and potholes. It was packed though, so very popular. The people were nice. We did not stay here on our way back through. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here on the way back from Alaska. easy to find, great staff at check in, and the office was very nice. First site, we could not get level. Second site we were able to level, but not easy. We were in a 42 ft towing, and if we had gotten there earlier there were sites more accommodating larger rv's. Park had lots of trees and was not the gravel parking lot. Would stay there again.
