Very convenient downtown, can walk everywhere. This is basically a gravel parking lot. Sites are close but plenty long. Manager is a character; he was very helpful. Sites were level. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Of course you have to visit the Signpost forest, just a two-block walk from here. And there is Wye Lake just across the street, with a 1.5 mile boardwalk/walking path all the way around.

Had a level, dirt and gravel pull through site. There were trees on each side of my site. A picnic table was provided. The sewer dump was to the front of the site. I barely reached the dump with 20 feet of sewer hose. Staff in the office was very helpful. Good clean laundry room. One half hour of free WI-FI every 24 hours. WI-FI worked well. 28 cable channels. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice RV park, but it's rather difficult to get a site. They don't take reservations, but if you show up and there are sites you can have one. If you have a spot and you want to stay longer, which we did, then you can stay as long as you want. So, we stayed at another park that took reservations, then the next morning went to Hi Country to check availability. People had checked out so there were spots for us. It was a little odd, but it worked for us! The park has lots of trees, the sites are spacious, and they have tables and fire pits. The park is very close to town so it's quite convenient to restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions. The laundry room was clean and turned out to be quite the place to socialize! We will be heading back through Whitehorse and hope we can stay at Hi Country again! We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a lot to do in Whitehorse, so much that we decided to stay 3 more days than we planned. The bike path along the river is flat, paved and an easy way to get around the town. We enjoyed the fish hatchery, the Klondike paddle boat museum, the transportation museum, and the Yukon Brewery. The guided walk through Miles Canyon was beautiful.

We stayed at this campground twice, on our way to and then back from Alaska. This park is the closest to town and offers variety of full and partial service, open and shaded sites. This is a true campground, not like the typical gravel lot RV campgrounds along the Alaska Highway. Sites are close together, but usually there is greenery between sites. All sites have a picnic table and most have a fire ring. A full service 30 amp pull-through was $40.60 Cdn with GS discount, and a 20 amp pull-through was $34 Cdn. Free WiFi is limited to 30 minutes per device per 24 hrs, though additional time can be purchased. They have a large souvenir/gift shop and the property is dotted with trucks and machinery from the building of the AlCan. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground was obviously developed many years ago when campers were smaller. It is well maintained and has lots of trees for shade, but in many instances units barely had room to extend slide-outs and awnings or park tow vehicles. Many trees throughout the park have skinned-up bark and limbs knocked down, so you would think the owners would realize that trees need to be either trimmed or removed. The Wi-Fi is good, but you only get 30 minutes per day free (you can purchase unlimited service for $7 a day). The laundry room is very nice and has an adequate number of appliances for a park its size. In spite of its space limitations, we have stayed here many times and it is the best park in town. I would suggested you check your site before accepting it to make sure it meets your needs. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Our site was very narrow (trees everywhere) with 30 amp, water and sewer. The wifi was limited to 30 minutes per day. Cable was horrible when we first hooked up, but we traded boxes with another unoccupied site and it was fine then. No satellite due to all of the trees. The RV wash was good and in use most of the day. My only real complaint is the tight roads and that most sites were too short and narrow for big rigs. The gravel roads at the entrance could use A LOT of work to fill in the potholes. The owner said he planned on filling some of them in, but that it does slow traffic down a bit. The airport is nearby but not too noisy as there are only a few flights a day. Also, the park is right on the Alaska Highway but the back lots are still nice and quiet. We'll be back on our way south from Alaska. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A full service campground. Campsites a little tight but most had a little vegetation between them. Verizon worked ok here. Their cable gave us limited channels. Park looked like best choice in town. Would stay again. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here before and were not disappointed this time either. The sites do have some separation. We were near the main building both times but the only distraction was the show of rvs coming through to use the dump station...like i said, a show. WiFi was great, everything clean, just south of town but very accessible to it. Some people prefer? another place in town but we highly recommend this rv park. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whitehorse, Yukon This campground was a breeze to drive into. Once we we were checked in and assigned our site we found the site to be very close to our neighbors, we were face to face , side to side, with them! when you step out of your camper, you find yourself nearly on there site in the the pull thru's go in opposite directions I mean you have to share the outdoor space. The total space was approx 15 feet from his door to ours, that means your site, your space is about 7 feet out your door!!! And some folks spread out even beyond there site. grabbing every foot of there's and a couple of yours! You know the type!! We had very good neighbors, we sat out late, lite a fire, cooked hot dogs and drank some beers ,had to put the fire ring in front of the motor home, in the road way but still on our site. What a nightmare it would be if you did not like your neighbors. The 30 amp power was good at 118 volts, water was good. Its quite and had good wifi They do have a hi pressure wash down for RV and cars 2 lunnies for 6 minutes The price I list is in US dollars $32 per night which included a 10% good Sam discount I would stay here again for a couple of days. 2 /12 hour drive to Skagway Alaska and a beautiful trip, well worth taking if you have the time, remember your passports!!!! We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

For the Yukon, this is a pretty nice RV park. Our site was a 50' long level gravel back-in with FHU 30A. Site was about 16' wide allowing room for slideouts on both sides of RV. The park has a variety of back ins and pull thrus with some sites large enough for big rigs. The interior gravel roads are generally wide enough for easy back in although it might depend on the site and your backing skill. Utilities worked fine. Most sites have partial to full shade. Shrubs generally separate sites. Some trees and shrubs need trimming to stay off of the rigs. Park wifi is useless. TELUS has a 2 bar cell signal with LTE data. Park has limited cable TV with 1 US channel and about 15 Canadian channels. Our cable signal was scratchy but viewable. Having recently stayed at both this campground and nearby Pioneer, I like Hi Country better. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

As stated by others they need to trim some trees and bushes

Many of the pull through sites are at fairly sharp angles

They also tend to have trees right at the corners

Many of these trees have been hit repeatedly and have all the bark knocked off

They need to get the picture and clean up the sites

The site they first assigned me for my 43' 4 slide motorhome was entirely too narrow and the entry angle was impossible

Had to back all the way out to the office and start over with a new site suited to my rig's size

The staff was friendly and helpful

The hookups were ok

Cable tv is almost worthless

The wifi is free.....

For 90 minutes

Then you are asked to pay to keep going

There must be an airport very close as we had to listen to choppers, jets, etc constantly

Road noise is bad as well

As I write this several dogs are having a barking contest and no one is supervising them. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

I chose this park cause it was the closest to downtown Whitehorse.

Didn't use any of the facilities so I can't comment on them.

I have one major gripe about the park and that was it's power supply.

I had the 20 amp site and any time I tried to use the microwave or hot water heater the voltage would drop to 103 volts (I have a volt/amp meter on the system) and my Progressive Industries EMS system would trip out for protection purposes. If you don't have an EMS system no problem but beware low voltage could potentially damage electronic equipment. So to say the least if I'm back in the area I'll try a different campground and maybe I'll get more than a half hour free of wifi. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you use a electrical management system and stay at the 20 amp site and place a moderate load on it the voltage will drop to a point where the system will take you off line.

We stayed one night on our way north and three days on our way back south. Both times were enjoyable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Amenities are clean and well kept. Roads and sites are gravel but had a few potholes. The site is just a few minutes from Whitehorse but far enough out of town to avoid the noise. Some sites back onto a road and were probably effected by noise. We were in a back in site and had no issues except one; a fox kept visiting at night. The sites are close together and people with the large camper trailers and motorhomes were having some difficulty navigating the roads. There are two sites at the end of each pull through line, that could easily be removed to make life easier for the patrons. People with double slides couldn't open their awnings at most of the sites due to being too narrow. Fires were allowed in the pits provided but the wood was very pricey at 7 bucks Canadian for a small bundle. Overall we liked the site for our stay and will certainly stop here again. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
