The RV park is basically a large gravel parking lot with full hookups. The hookups are every other site so your door side is facing your neighbor's door side with enough space for a picnic table. The nice thing about the park is easy access from the Alaska Highway and most sites appear to be pull-throughs. The laundry was not available when we stayed and the office worker was kind enough to say so before taking our money. It was just an overnight stay for us and because of the rain we didn't even walk to the bath house. I would stay here again overnight as a travel stop, but if I were taking in the sites around Whitehorse, I'd look at another RV park with nicer, more spacious sites. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Considering where you are, this is a very nice Big Rig suitable RV park. We stayed on the lower level and had no issues with power (& I use a Progressive EMS). I did hear an occasional truck on the highway but it wasn't bad at night. The wifi worked very well. They allowed us 1 gig usage for our 3-night stay. They have cable which is nice since satellite TV probably won't connect this far north. This campground has an RV wash, pet wash station, and an oil change pad. All three of those are seldom seen. My only complaint is sites are pretty close together. We were in the pull thrus and sites were about 55' long with about 10' between units. Your unit will open up to the door of the unit next to you with a shared picnic table. Bell cell phone coverage was good. Depending on how others park their tow cars, you might have an easy in/out or you might have to ask someone to move their car. Generally, I think you'll get in & out okay. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here in a 34 ft motorhome pulling a 16 foot cargo trailer. They put us in the lower end and the south end of the parking pattern. Plenty of room for both the MH and trailer. Staff was a family operation. Very friendly, helpful, and courteous. They provided on site vehicle maintenance, wash facility, tours of local area and even currency exchange and very good rate. They gave generous fuel discount from already good local prices with overnight stay. They included 300 Meg of Wi-Fi with overnight stay. We also stayed here on return trip north in June. Planning travel plans on staying here on return trip south on Alaska Highway in August. Very good value for the money. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Motorhome.

Provided tours into town and the Skagway Railway were full buses. Must have been a popular attraction. We did not use them.

This is not a Good Sam anymore, but she honored it. Laundry is out of service. Planes fly overhead and traffic is near. However they are friendly and helpful and the campsite was clean, and safe. They do have some upper lots away from the road, but we pulled in late with no reservations. Beggars can't be choosers. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park in which to stay for a night or two, but I wouldn't consider it to be a destination. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the campground offers every service imaginable for RV'ers. (Extremely rare in the Yukon) We stayed for two nights in the lower area. All utilities worked quite well. WiFi signal was strong, but throughput was slow, however it is satellite based, so there you have it. There was some road noise, but I wouldn't call it excessive. A few planes flew overhead, but again, nothing excessive. All in all a very convenient place to spend a couple of days. Whitehorse offers some interesting sites. It is the Capitol of the Yukon an hosts the largest percentage of the population for the entire territory. Worth some exploring. Many caravans stop here, so reservations are recommended. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here in a 38' motor home with a tow car. The 1st site they assigned me already had someone in it. So back I went through the narrow road to the office. This sight was against a fence and in order not to be in the road, I had to park nestled up to the fence so that I couldn't open the bay doors to hook up. So, back I went to the office trying hard not to hit any cars sticking out into the road. This time they assigned me to a spot which was supposed to be a pull through. After much backing and filling I finally got into the spot but had no place to park the car. The utilities were on the wrong side of the coach so that electric and water had to run under the coach. While this park says it is big rig friendly, it definitely isn't. The 2d time we had to stay in Whitehorse, we went to the Wal-Mart which has no limit on the length of stay and was a better campsite. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park has very low voltage and does not think it is a problem. Our surge protector constantly tripped when voltage dropped below 104 volts. We monitor our usage and never went over 20 amps. Also laundry room was closed for repairs with no estimate of when it would be open. These issues are a shame as the everything else seemed fine. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lower section just a parking lot with full hookups and highway noise. We liked the treed area up the hill with large, private sites with water, cable TV and 30 amp. No wifi or restroom/shower without a longish walk down the hill. RV wash was used. Laundry not available at this time. Staff very friendly and helpful. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here in a 38' Motorhome with a toad. Long easy access gravel site was low in the front requiring blocks under jacks. Stable 30 amp elec. with good water. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Pioneer offers a $.03 per ltr fuel discount. Internet is limited to 300mb per day but is fast. Easy access to Alaskan Highway. Good high pressure car wash is available. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a gravel parking lot with hook-ups. Easy in, easy out. Having said that I thought for a stop on the Alcan & access to Whitehorse, it was fine. Utilities work well, bathrooms were very clean, the camp store has a very good selection of things a camper might need, including some sewer parts, etc. They also sell propane & gas/diesel at a reasonable price. We would stay againThe people are very nice & I'm glad we stayed here. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here twice, once heading north and a month and a half later, heading south. Both times we found the staff pleasant and helpful. The sites are a little tight, but easy enough to get in and out of. A great feature of this park is that they provide discounted fuel on site, have a very good wash facility and on-site repair/maintenance facilities.

There are no trees or grass on the sites. The park is right on the highway, but we did not notice any highway noise and it was nice to have easy access to Whitehorse. We would stay stay here again. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sites are pull-through level dirt and easy to get to. We had a little trouble with low voltage that tripped our surge protector a couple of times. We have not had this issue before or since. They limit the Wi-Fi usage to 300 MB per day (can purchase more) but we found that was plenty for checking email and catching up on Facebook. The host were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Motorhome.

First thing you need to know about this park is the two sections it has. Lower level right on the highway is a gravel parking lot style full hookup area, upper level is about 200 meters back and up in the woods, where the sites are W/E but you can stay there as a dry camper too.
We stayed two nights in the upper level, first one dry for 19.85$ (after AAA discount). They have a switchboard in the office to turn off power on your site if you choose to stay dry. Site was level but tight and rather on the short side. We had to move the picnic table and distance from the camper to the fire ring was less than two meters. Privacy was good as there are shrubs and trees around also providing a mostly shaded site. Noise from the highway is still noticeable up here but not to bothersome. The real bummer is no access to the showers or WiFi if you only pay for a dry site. So the second night we opted for W/E hookup in the same upper level site for 29.30 (after AAA discount) only to find out the WiFi is total crap and pretty much useless.
A dump station, RV wash and laundry is available. Campers are offered a few cents discount at the fuel pump inside the park.
We will consider to stay again, preferring a dry site on the upper level. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Truck Camper.

We do not know the rate as we were part of a prepaid caravan. To be fair to this park there are two sections - the caravan section and the nice wooded section on a hillside. This review is about the caravan section. The caravan section is a very large dirt parking lot. Access is through the fuel pumps which can create a backup. The utilities all seemed to function properly (30amp service) with 300 mb of wifi per day which was not usable when the park was full. The restrooms were very clean.

The sites are EXTREMELY TIGHT and perpendicular to the road. This makes even the pullthrus very difficult to maneuver. This also created a backup as three caravans were attempting to enter at the same time. Our slides were within inches of the next unit. There was not room to walk between rigs. These were very very tight. We had a backin site that was not long enough to park our tow vehicle. We had to park a couple hundred yards away in the tent section.

We also stayed here a second time as part of the caravan. This stay we were the only caravan in the park but we were still bunched together even though we there was only 20 of us in an area for 60. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are numerous tourist traps in and around Whitehorse - they are all worth a visit. Restaurants are OK but we found nothing exceptional. The highlight of Whitehorse for us was the tour of the Yukon Brewery. Bring a growler or buy one of theirs - the beer is delicious.

This park has 2 sections; the lower level has full hookups, but is basically a gravel parking lot. We chose the upper level; up a fairly steep gravel road that leads to nice, roomy sites in the woods. These sites have water & electric (dump available), trees between sites, private, shady and quiet. Several are fairly level and large enough for big rigs. Wi-Fi works in some, ask at office. We would stay again in the upper level area. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
