When we arrived to check-in the receptionist could NOT find our reservation. We were given an option, parallel park along the lower concrete wall. I walked the area and those sites were way too short of our fifth wheel. After a lengthy discussion, we were sent up the hill, into the woods, where we found the site indicated, a back-in with trees all around. the road is narrow but passable, the site was plenty wide and deep for our fifth wheel. Once we were set up the office called and said they "found our reservation." We chose NOT to move back down the hill and into the congestion there. We won't come back here. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This "park" is really a large, gravel parking area with hook-ups. There is no landscaping, just gravel and hook up postings. However, it is convenient(right on the side of the highway) coming out of Whitehorse. Staff was very friendly and the park store is well stocked with rv supplies and souvenirs. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Best tip here is that customers of the park receive a 3 cents per liter discount on fuel. That makes fuel here the cheapest in all of Whitehorse. Easy pump access at entry to park.

We stayed up on the 'hill' to get a bit of privacy. The laundromat is not available so one needs to go into town (4-mi) to do that. Wifi is spotty if out of office range and is sloooow. They do discount gas if you purchase from them. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The roads are navigable but the signage for one-way could be more visible as we made a wrong turn and ended up going in the wrong direction simply because we did not "see" the arrow.

Considering where you are, this is a very nice Big Rig suitable RV park. We stayed on the lower level and had no issues with power (& I use a Progressive EMS). I did hear an occasional truck on the highway but it wasn't bad at night. The wifi worked very well. They allowed us 1 gig usage for our 3-night stay. They have cable which is nice since satellite TV probably won't connect this far north. This campground has an RV wash, pet wash station, and an oil change pad. All three of those are seldom seen. My only complaint is sites are pretty close together. We were in the pull thrus and sites were about 55' long with about 10' between units. Your unit will open up to the door of the unit next to you with a shared picnic table. Bell cell phone coverage was good. Depending on how others park their tow cars, you might have an easy in/out or you might have to ask someone to move their car. Generally, I think you'll get in & out okay. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lower section just a parking lot with full hookups and highway noise. We liked the treed area up the hill with large, private sites with water, cable TV and 30 amp. No wifi or restroom/shower without a longish walk down the hill. RV wash was used. Laundry not available at this time. Staff very friendly and helpful. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has very low voltage and does not think it is a problem. Our surge protector constantly tripped when voltage dropped below 104 volts. We monitor our usage and never went over 20 amps. Also laundry room was closed for repairs with no estimate of when it would be open. These issues are a shame as the everything else seemed fine. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We do not know the rate as we were part of a prepaid caravan. To be fair to this park there are two sections - the caravan section and the nice wooded section on a hillside. This review is about the caravan section. The caravan section is a very large dirt parking lot. Access is through the fuel pumps which can create a backup. The utilities all seemed to function properly (30amp service) with 300 mb of wifi per day which was not usable when the park was full. The restrooms were very clean.

The sites are EXTREMELY TIGHT and perpendicular to the road. This makes even the pullthrus very difficult to maneuver. This also created a backup as three caravans were attempting to enter at the same time. Our slides were within inches of the next unit. There was not room to walk between rigs. These were very very tight. We had a backin site that was not long enough to park our tow vehicle. We had to park a couple hundred yards away in the tent section.

We also stayed here a second time as part of the caravan. This stay we were the only caravan in the park but we were still bunched together even though we there was only 20 of us in an area for 60. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are numerous tourist traps in and around Whitehorse - they are all worth a visit. Restaurants are OK but we found nothing exceptional. The highlight of Whitehorse for us was the tour of the Yukon Brewery. Bring a growler or buy one of theirs - the beer is delicious.

This park has 2 sections; the lower level has full hookups, but is basically a gravel parking lot. We chose the upper level; up a fairly steep gravel road that leads to nice, roomy sites in the woods. These sites have water & electric (dump available), trees between sites, private, shady and quiet. Several are fairly level and large enough for big rigs. Wi-Fi works in some, ask at office. We would stay again in the upper level area. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a Good Sam park. We stayed here in both June and August. We elected to stay in their dry camping section for a very reduced price. It is located up the hill by the water fill and dump station where they store RVs and some old buses. It was very quiet and definitely not crowded. We had lots of space to set up and we were able to use our rooftop satellite. We did not use the bathhouse or laundry and the wifi is not free so we also did not use that. There is a Wal-Mart in Whitehorse but it is not a super store and sells a limited selection of groceries. The parking lot is a zoo because many RVers stay there. All in all, it was not a bad experience and we would stay there again. At least we were not jammed up next to other RVs like those in the hook up section. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is okay as a pass through. Definitely not a destination. Rigs crowded in side by side. Hardly enough room to turn around. Nothing more than a parking lot with hook ups. Laundry suitable - 2.50 a wash, 2.00 to get dry enough. If we ever came back to this area, would look for another park. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whoa, really narrow sites for rigs with slideouts. We had to share our stairs with our neighbor, that's how close we were. Not much else to say about the place, basically a parking lot. I would probably look for another park if I was in the Whitehorse area again. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our second stay at this park and again we were pleased with the stay. Yes it is a gravel parking lot but the services are good. The internet is FANTASTIC!! It has lightning fast speed, without a doubt the fastest I have ever used anywhere! Wish all parks were half as good. We would definitely stay here again. Nice park. We parked in the treed hill area, nice spacious and a bit private. The pull throughs are VERY close together, okay for an overnight but no wow factor. Staff very friendly and helpful. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
