This is a nice park with level sites. One of the few times we have pulled in, unhooked and did not have to adjust leveling any direction. How awesome is that! The gentleman in the office was very friendly and helpful. Across freeway from airport, but the noise was negligible. Rate includes Good Sam discount. Would camp here again.

Great park: clean and well cared for. The staff was friendly. The pool, hot tub and sunset deck are nice. Sites have white rock which although hard on bare feet, keep sand, etc. down. Pet friendly. Showers and laundry facilities were super. Although more costly than the county park, this park is great for a week or so stay. Not sure what the monthly rate is. About a half mile (easy) walk to beach and longer walk to county park and the break water. Would definitely stay here again.

Good location. We stayed here two nights: visited Big Bend NP from here. Excellent facilities and well cared for. Staff helpful and friendly. Would stay here again. Located outside of town a bit so you have a nice view of the mountains and surroundings.

Decent park: convenient and clean, but noisy (freight trains and Edison Highway) and no grass. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. Overnighter area is all long pull-throughs, with 50 amps, cement pads and picnic tables on patio blocks. Long-term area is a mix of back-ins and pull-throughs, with gravel and very small privacy fences. Free Wi-Fi requires registering with a coupon code from the office, but works okay.

"Ransom Road RV Park" in Aransas Pass, Texas - was rated: 9

It is a great location for exploring central Gulf Coast - Port Aransas, Corpus Christi, Rockport. There are nice large cement pads and grass. There are lots of long-term residents who seems to be enjoying themselves - activities etc. The showers were very clean - doubt if very many use them which was okay with us! Entry to showers, laundry, and office is rather limited and while we there two out of the three mornings the staff were cleaning the cement for over two hours making it difficult to use the facilities. We appreciate the care taken to keep this RV Park in A+ condition but in the morning when folks are using the showers etc does not seem to be a good time to be blocking off the area. Showers etc can be cleaned in the afternoon when folks are out and about. Other than that we would stay here again. The staff was friendly, and gave good directions and everything was super clean and in great condition. It is a nice place for walking dog down to ICW and pier- saw dophins, herons, and egrets.

A great location. Security is excellent. Located close to Houston. Has nice big cement pads. Park is conveniently located off 288. Pool and hot tub are good. Showers could use a bit more cleaning. Staff was very helpful. Great price on propane: half of what we paid at another park. They pick it up and return it filled! It was quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Very good overnight stop. Easy access to/from I-10. Pull through sites. Gravel and grass. No cable, but decent local TV reception and easy SAT. Ten miles from Crestview where there is a Walmart and places to eat. About 40 miles from the beaches. Price is right. No credit cards, only cash or check.

We stayed here two nights. Rate reflects Coast to Coast membership price. Nice campground. All gravel sites. Can walk to see the river but only a few sites can actually see the river from their sites. Not much around to do. Went to Blythe, CA for groceries.

"Turtle Beach Campground" in Sarasota, Florida - was rated: 9

Located on beautiful Siesta Key, this tiny gem is right on the Gulf. Pets are not allowed. It's a squeeze to get in and out of the RV area and, due to space limitations, you must park your car next door at Turtle Beach Park. But where else in Sarasota can you open your RV door and be on the beach in less than a minute? Fine dining is located right across the street at Turtle's Restaurant and Ophelia's. If you like the beach, this is a very convenient place to stay.

This park is a little gem. The foliage in the RV area is beautiful; you feel as though you are far away when you're right along Route 41 between Sarasota and Venice. There are good hiking trails and swimming in the lake (don't feed the gators). Rangers and park staff are friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that the RV area itself is a little tight and some sites are small. Other than that, it's a great place to get away from it all. Getting a reservation is a challenge in season and it is easy to see why.

I hesitate to rave about this park because it's so hard to get a reservation in-season, but in a word, it is terrific. The rangers are very friendly and helpful. There is currently a problem with the swimming pool but, other than that, the facilities are excellent. And you can even make yourself a pancake breakfast at a table in the canteen.

This is an big and friendly park. Some sections are beautiful, especially near the river. However, the park has some serious drainage problems, especially in the circular central area. Due to that, there are pot-holed roads and big puddles to drive through. As difficult as it is to wash an RV, you may not appreciate leaving with mud-covered tires and fenders, especially at $62 a night. With updating and road work, Rambler's Rest has the location and potential to be a 10. In my estimation, however, it rates a 6.

This is strictly a good overnight park. There are no amenities. The sites are large and pull-through. Camping World was next door which is very handy. Felt safe as it isn't close to any residential area.

This is a good park very conveniently located near Disney World at the intersection of Routes 27 and 192. Clean and well-maintained. More trees would improve the open-field appearance, but the limited plantings are attractive. Showers and rest rooms are excellent. There is an extremely nice pool overlooking the lake.

One of the few RV parks in this area, it is conveniently located to the antique shops of Mt. Dora; 10 minutes to Renningers. It's basic and adequate. Friendly manager and residents. About 40 minutes to Disney down Route 429. Would recommend if you're in the area.

There are a lot of things we love about Collier Seminole but the campground is not one of them and the weather during this trip brought out all its deficits. It was cold, with temperatures down to the 20s at night and there were several nights with rain some of it torrential. The whole campground was muddy, rutted and some areas were absolutely flooded. Sites are small, way too close together and there is not gravel or other surface to absorb water. Electrical couldn't handle the high use of space heaters. Bathrooms were in sad shape, with showers offering only a skimpy vinyl curtain and no place to hang your clothes so they did not get wet. The best things about the park are the people, the staff and volunteers, proximity to Marco Island, Naples and the Everglades. This place is popular as it is as far south as we can go other than the Keys but is is sorely in need of renovation. We hope the state puts it on the priority list.

A strange campground setup...looks to be converted from a mobile home park. Sites very long and level. Also very narrow but it looks doubtful that enough campers would be here at one time to force the issue. Nice laundry. Had good AT&T and Verizon reception. Good for seeing Petrified Forest NP, Meteor Crater, etc. Not much else in town or around to do.

"Rainbow Springs State Campground" in Dunnellon, Florida - was rated: 9

This is our first visit. The campground, which was renovated over the past year or so, will be a standard by which I will compare all other campgrounds! The sites were very large with a long driveway and a large square "yard" offering plenty of room for seating, bikes, kayaks, another shelter etc. The outside site we booked had excellent privacy with low level shrubs and palmettos. Except when looking out the front, we could barely see another camper. The sites have water, 30 and 50 amp service and sewer. The shower and bathroom facilities were new, spotless, and had plenty of hot water. There is a rec building which we did not use and a swimming pool which we also did not use as the temps were in the 50s-60s. I bet it is popular later in the spring. The park had a small nature trail, access to the Rainbow River for excellent kayaking and access to the Rainbow Springs Headsprings section of the park a few miles away which had beautiful gardens, swimming in the springs, canoe/kayak rental. There was adequate cellphone signal which we also used for Internet access. TV signals were poor using our antenna but that is no big deal. About 20 miles to Ocala and 5 to Dunnellon for groceries etc. Not much to do in the immediate area but a beautiful relaxing place to visit. We will definitely stay here again.

We were able to drop back in for our 4th visit or so. Grounds are being kept up better than we noticed in November. They have great staff. Owners for the most part are friendly, however our most recent visit had some very snooty owners next door. This is a large resort with large sites. An 'older' crowd lives here. If you are planning to come to Titusville for a shuttle launch, TGO is a great place to stay. Using some easily found back roads, you can be at the river (and great launch viewing) within about 20 minutes by car.

I have been to this campground before and loved it but I made the honest mistake of going during "snowbird" season and Wow, what a difference. The people who check you in acted like they were frustrated beyond compare, The person serving the cafeteria food rolled their eyes at us for saying Hello. If you have a large motorhome, the sites are very tight, we have a smaller unit now and it fit a lot better than last time I was there but I will never go back this time of year. I still like this place but never again when it is this packed.

This is our first visit here. We are now working full timers. We have been here since November 2009. Thus far, our site, etc. has been very good. The power, water pressure, cable, etc. is good. We have a concrete pad for the patio and park on the grass. Surprisingly, we are able to park 3 full size cars, a motorcycle trailer on OUR lot and still have room for more. The folks in the office are very nice and try to help with any issues you may have. They don't charge any extra fees for parking, mail or even power. We paid 6 months in advance and that INCLUDED our power. Comes out to about $475.00 per month for everything. It's true that the place is in the process of up-grading. They will have a heated pool shortly. We will be here at least until May 2010. We would recommend for a short or long stay.

This is a gem in the forest along Wilde Lake. Great Wi-Fi, 70 cable channels, nice owners. Large long gravel pull-throughs, easy for big rigs. Good Sam discount. A few seasonals, but well kept sites. Some strange rules ("no known sexual predators will be allowed in the park" - how would you enforce that one exactly? A little harder to monitor than pick up afer your dog!). Lots of good areas to walk dogs. Feels like REAL camping, with all the amenities at the same time! About 1 miles from I-10; well signed. No road noise - a great place for 1 night or more.

This is really a very good park. Pull-throughs and back-ins are both long. Good hook-ups. Van drives around every 15 minutes to take you to the casino. They take Good Sam and get a players card at the casino and use your credits against your camp fees (we saved $8 combined). Casino buffet was good. $3.50 for lunch buffet for 50+yrs old. Good hook-ups. Wi-Fi reception was good but slow (no extra fee). People were great, 24 hr security and very quiet. Its about 10 miles off I-10 but well signed and easy to find.

The previous review was obviously written by owner or close friends. This park is clean, has full hook-ups, no cable, no Wi-Fi, and is a former FEMA camp from Katrina. Half dozen FEMA mobiles and same number of RVs,mostly guys working in Jennings area. It is right along the I-10 and there is LOTS of truck noise 24/7. No washroom or other facilities. No owner/manager on site. You call a number and he tells you where to park. Lots of rain made the field a bog, so he told us to park on a cement pad. No turnaround room at end of road and no pull-throughs. Jennings is a poor Lousiana town, has a Wal-Mart and a small grocery store, couple of restaurants and that's it. There is a better looking park about 20 miles east. We didn't feel unsafe, but not really safe either.

We stayed two nights. The people running the park are friendly and helpful. Mainly seasonal RVs, we parked on the lane in overflow, facing the city park. Lots of cars and trucks running up and down the street in front. Trains were not a big deal - 1 or 2 a night, but are a few blocks away. Weird hook-ups (share post, 30 amp only, with extra sewer- long way away from rig). This is an old park, very clean, good laundry and they have recycling (good on them!!). OK for a night or two. Not a really safe area, but we had no trouble either.

We stayed a week here on the bayou. Lots of things to do in Kemah, Galveston (30min) and Houston (30min). 3 pools, good laundry and no noise. Lots of seasonals but well kept sites, so no concern either. Close to Target, Home Depot and restaurants. Nice dog walking area. A few too many rules posted, but no one seemed to be over-focused on enforcing things. Also has an adult only area. Good cable and Wi-Fi (no extra fee).

What a beautiful view of the bay. The winter Texans like ourselves were clanish but very nice. Unfortunately it rained and was unusually cold. The mud was horrific. Many said they would not be back next year because it seems to go downhill each year, and more and more of their friends move elsewhere. I would have rated it higher if it hadn't been for the overall looks of the park and the noise and dust from the ship yard next door. Thank God we had our own internet service because a staffer said they had been having trouble with it for a long time. Some of the campers suggested we meet them at another park next year when we come down.

Sites were good size. On-site trout pond was well stocked, and my son had a great time catching them. Proximity to a lot of great fishing. Burney Falls, Subway Cave and Lassen National Park made this an ideal location for a long weekend stay. Look forward to going back soon.

We have camped here a couple of times before. Sites on the ocean are smaller but worth it. I do not know anyplace else where you can camp so close to the ocean. The beach is spectacular. Restrooms were always cleaned and maintained. Hosts were new and seemed very helpful. Larger sites with pull-throughs were available on the other side of the campground away from the ocean. Entire family had great time. Next time we need to bring the kayaks.

We came into the park after the snow storm. The roads were snow packed but we were pleasantly surprised that the park had cleaned off their roads. We found out from the staff that the owner had spent many hours Christmas day cleaning off the roads in the park which was great. We've never stayed at a park that cleaned off any snow at all. We had no problems with connecting to the utilities and our heat tape helped keep the water from freezing. Great place to stay and we would highly recommend.

We stayed over Memorial weekend. Seems like a lot of things had been renovated. The bathrooms looked brand new and were very clean, nice playground, nice pool also clean, little pond for kids to catch and release small fish was fun. Sites were decent size, gravel and relatively level, hookups were good. Store and staff were very good. Grounds patrolled at night. Quiet time was enforced strictly, which we love. Only complaint, not the fault of CG is the parade of off road vehicle that come and go through the day. Very loud vehicles and we had to continue to warn the kids to beware of cars, although it is entertaining to watch some of them go by. Also very sandy.

Very, very nice. This is a huge park with amenities we've never seen before: Olympic pool, two hot tubs, restaurant, poolside bar, mail room, wood shop, lapidary shop, stained glass shop, ham radio station, bass pond with big fish, three fenced dog parks, tennis courts, shuffle board, lawn bowling, two putting greens/mini golf courses, etc. People are friendly. If you are an active senior, this is your park. The price is high, and, the spaces are close together, and some of the turns are tight for a big rig. But, after you are settled in, there is tons to do.

This is a good basic park --- partially shaded, level, sand/gravel pads. Wi-Fi and full hookups worked fine. No amenities. There was a little highway noise during evening rush hour, but otherwise traffic was no problem. We loved the proximity to area attractions --- a dog park 1 mile away, shopping 2 miles, historic downtown 3 miles, and the beaches and lighthouse 5 miles away. Great location. We would camp here again.

Lakeview is kept neat and clean at all times. They are the only RV park we have ever been to that has left a Thank You note on our door. They have park hosts/hostesses you can go to if the office is closed. Visitors are given a survey to fill out and return so that they know how they are doing.

Great place to "get away from it all" while staying in the luxury of your own RV. Tight turns might make for challenging maneuvering for larger RVs. At the time we stayed here, the camp was nearly empty and we had our choice of the beautiful stream side sites. Restrooms and showers were very clean in and excellent condition. We were not able to get any cell reception in this area (AT&T). Some of the best hiking trails of the parks we've stayed at, with many more within driving distance. If you enjoy outdoor recreation, there's a good chance you'll enjoy staying at this park.

Large, rustic park in a quiet, attractive area with lots of big shade trees. All sites are unpaved, which is not a negative for me. Very pet friendly - many nice areas to walk dogs. Hosts were *very* friendly and helpful. Only markdown from me is due to poor state of restrooms and showers. Although they tried to keep them clean, they are much too dinghy to properly maintain. Poorly lit. Wife was afraid to spend much time in showers for fear of things falling down from the multitude of spiderwebs in the unprotected rafters above.

I agree with the positive reviews of this park. It is a well-run, clean and pretty little park with 37 level gravel sites and a wide paved road. We've been here twice and would certainly stay here again. Wi-Fi works fine, cable TV is okay with a limited number of channels. Supermarkets and Wal-Mart are a few miles away. Great bird watching and fishing from their own dock, and access to open water from their boat ramp on Indian Bayou. Avalon Blvd. is a free section of a toll road to the beach, and traffic noise is minimal even though the park is close to the road.

This park is located in one of the more scenic locations of the general area, and has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it appears to have a ways yet to go. Reservations are apparently not accepted at this time, according to their web site. On arrival, we paid for a "B" (non-paved, water/electric only, $20/night) spot. However, we found that the "B" area was so muddy that we were not brave enough to even drive the between-sites access roads for fear of getting stuck. Instead, we relocated to what was apparently an "A" site (paved, water/electric/sewer, $30/night). However, calling the "A" sites "paved" is a bit of a misnomer - the pavement is in such poor condition that it is rougher than many gravel sites we have stayed at in other parks. CAUTION: the entire area as of this writing are under construction - numerous unmarked deep holes & piles of dirt are all over, rendering much of the access, as well as the sites themselves, completely unusable!! When we finally found a site that appeared to be accessible, we found (after unhooking) that the electric hookups didn't work. As it was getting rather late, we elected to stay and "dry camp" on the site instead. Restrooms appeared clean and with new fixtures - puzzlingly though, showers and stalls don't have any doors at all. To their credit, the lady who checked us in was friendly and offered us a refund on account of the non-working electricity. Highly recommend calling ahead of time and checking on site construction & utility status if you are thinking about staying here.

We stayed at this park in January 2010. Our kids had so much fun catching fish in the stocked pond. This is a new KOA, and the new playground was nice. We brought our boat up the creek and got to tie it in the creek near our site. There were some people that had some horses in the horse area, and my family got to pet the horses. Their cabins are nice, too; we didn't stay in them. We will definitely go back.

It is a nice little park tucked into a triangle of land between FL281 and the Indian Bayou. A wide paved road loops through the middle of the 27 sites, all of which are either back-in or pull-in. Suitable for big rigs; the sites were wide and some were quite deep. There is no vegetation between sites. The few extra dollars for a river front site was worth it; the view was beautiful. The laundry room had three washers and dryers and a folding counter. The clubhouse was next to it in the same building, adjacent to a small pool. The wifi was pretty good and the cable had 30 channels. It is pet friendly, but there is limited room to walk the dog due to the small size of the property.

After an RV leaves, a person rakes the parking space and cleans the area. Very good job! Water pressure is a bit low but works great. Wi-Fi is free and works excellent. The pool water was 91 degrees and extremely clean. Everyone was very pleasant. Very convenient to I-10. Shopping only a mile down the road. Sites are plenty wide. The only reason we do not give this place a 10 is because of all the speed bumps. In our opinion, there are too many. They are very high also. The train ran all night and there must have been a crossing nearby because it's horn was heard far and wide! The highway is visible and you can hear an on-going drone, but it wasn't terrible. We went and asked for a night to be refunded but they declined. They said no one had ever complained about the noise before. I find this hard to believe. On the positive side it is beautiful and the hiking is great. I would never ever stay here again.

Just outside of Benson on the way to Tombstone, this is a pleasant, very quiet park. It has a nice pool and spa with very clean restrooms and shower/changing rooms--(heads up! in the ladies shower, the stall on the far right has an overhead heat lamp). There are many birds here, perhaps partly due to the bird feeders and bird bath that happen to be close to my site (making it especially pleasant). It is close enough to town to make it convenient but if you don't feel like driving into town for what might be available at a mini mart, there is one near the park office at the Texaco station. In town there are cafes, restaurants, Safeway, Wal-Mart, Ace Hardware and a Subway and Quiznos. Farther down the road are the other usual fast food chains and a Denny's. Tucson is about a forty to forty five minute drive. The site I am parked on is very uneven, as my neighbor's--even the levelers are not enough to keep it level. This is annoying when doors don't stay open. Another guest complained their site was in need of gravel and after the rain she stepped into mud outside her motorhome. I on the other hand, had to lay out my mat to keep from tracking in gravel. The laundry room has too few washers and dryers for the number of sites here. You may have to take your laundry back and try again--and again. These are all minor (to me) inconveniences. My only real complaint is when I called to ask for a specific site--if no one else had requested it--so I could be in the empty space next to friends I was meeting up with, the woman who answered the phone cut me off twice with "we don't do that". It would have been nice of her to at least let me finish my request and apologize that they have a policy of no specific site requests (which I find odd regardless). (I did get the spot as no one had been put there before I arrived.) Since being here, however, I have found everyone pleasant and accommodating.

This is overall a very nice, well maintained park that seems to appeal to people who are looking for an extended stay and can afford the moderately high rates (I paid $265 for one week's stay to spend a week taking advantage of the pool and exercise room after a couple weeks on the road with little physical activity). The pool and spa area is very attractive and pleasant but I was surprised that the (women's) showers/changing rooms did not "match" the attractiveness. I discovered the exercise room to be a joke with cheap, ineffective equipment (as a regular gym goer, I am familiar with proper, effective equipment.) I decided to forgo the "exercise equipment" and use the pool table in there--it was missing one of the balls! The park is loaded with trees, mostly citrus and if you are there in the right time of year, there is fruit galore for the picking. If you are looking for a place to relax outside during the day, be forewarned --there are continual flights of jets from Luke AFB flying overhead during the day. If you plan on spending a good part of your day in Phoenix--central Phoenix is about twenty miles away--this might not be a problem. This is a resort--an upscale park with upscale visitors. If you don't mind the noise from jets, it is a lovely place to stay.

We really enjoyed staying at the Vineyards. It's central location to the Metroplex makes it easy to tour the area; and the main street of Grapevine is nice to visit. Our only reason for not rating this park higher is that only a few sites have all hookups (sewer); and there is no cable TV, which makes satellite signal variable depending on the trees around your site. Some of the sites are not very level, but we all deal with that on occasion.

After RVing through 40 states, this is our best experience of anywhere; and we have had some very nice ones over the past five years. This park has very nice facilities, with ownership understanding what it takes to be "world-class". We planned to stay two weeks, and ended-up staying 2 months. We will certainly come back to the Buckhorn on our next trip through Texas, because we have already made our reservations for next December.

We loved our time there, so much to do and people are so friendly. We could not believe how many amenities were available, from tennis, shuffleboard, hiking, stain glass, silversmithing, lapidary, quilting, sewing, horseshoes, billiards, etc. All activities were offered at extremely reasonable prices. We look forward to our return to this park.

The rate of $22 reflects our stay of 30 days for $650. The park is very clean with garbage pickup daily. We were disappointed with the lack of amenities at the park making it difficult to meet people. The pools, gym, and halls were closed when management went home at 6:00 p.m., unless there was a pre-scheduled activity such as line dancing. The pool near the activity center was only open twice during the day and was too cold to enjoy. Wireless internet was available at the activity center but not throughout the park as we were told, which appears to be an ongoing problem. The gym needs to be updated, a ceiling fan installed, as the equipment appears to have been acquired from a Pace bankruptcy. We enjoyed the Lake Havasu area, spending most of our days 4 wheeling and hiking in the washes and hills. We will not come back to this park as we do not feel we received value for our money.

Nice up scale park. Plenty of room to maneuver a big rig. Large parking area for checking in. The entry can be tricky, take a wide turn entering and exiting the property. Some airport noise during the day. We found flights taking off stopped around 9pm. Four different site prices depending on location to clubhouse and pool. If you are concerned about road noise, ask to be on the east side of the property. Very nice staff and clean bathrooms and great laundry. Check out their web site for 20% off for bordering states residents. The only down side is wi-fi is not free. Verizon 3G works good. We would stay here again.

This park fits our bill. There is no pool, and we do not use the restroom, that is what the bathroom in the coach is for. We were fortunate to get in for one night. Lots of people come to Yuma in the winter. The lady at the desk could not have been nicer. She had us park and then come in and pay after we were set up. There is some noise from I-8, but if you look around most of the parks here are close to the freeway. Verizon broadband works well. We were able to get all of the local TV stations on our batwing. A man was selling oranges from a truck as we came in. One bag for $2.50. It is a well kept up park, no grass, but RV...s from nearly every state and province.

Very hard to even tell where the roads were because of the sand. Many electric stands were knocked over and some of the water spigots did not work. Had to check them out to see if they had water before we parked.

This campground is located only 3 miles from Big Bend National Park behind the Big Bend Resort and has a restaurant (breakfast & lunch only), gas station, convenience store and laundry on site. I stayed there 6 days. Each site has water, 15/30/50 electric, sewer and cable TV (10 channels) on each site. Sites are gravel and fairly level with dirt roads. There is WiFi in the restaurant, and I was able to get a signal at my site using my external WiFi adapter; the speed was good. There is a patch of dried grass on most sites with couple of trees scattered around (they were planting additional trees the last days I was there). This is the desert so don't expect lush greenery or paved roads. The view of the mountains around the campground was great. Had a huge rain storm while there (3 inches in 15 minutes) so things were muddy for a day afterward. But then everyplace was muddy with many Big Bend park roads closed. Staff was friendly and helpful, directing me to local eateries and to where to find ATV outings. I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Intimate little campground, where you can really get to know your neighbors. Very friendly atmosphere. Lots of live oak trees, right on the beach. Paid more for a beach front site, and it was worth it. Exceptional views. Gravel sites are relatively level. No cable, and satellite is problematic due to the large trees. Campground is older but well maintained. Probably best to use your own restroom and shower. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here a week while in Tallahassee. It is the only park within the city, and is convenient to everything within 5-15 minutes. This is not a good park for you if you are not self-contained. There is one bathroom for each gender, so you may have to wait a while (the shower is also in the bathroom). No paper towels, so bring your own towel. There are many permanent or semi-permanent residents here; but the park is clean, very quiet, and the staff are friendly.

This is a classic CCC-era State Park that is located on a beautiful lake. We saw bald eagles and ospreys over the lake. Unfortunately this park is falling victim to negligent management by the park rangers and administration. During my family's one week stay, we never saw a ranger at all, even when visiting the park office. The office was manned by a teenaged volunteer and the campground was managed by a volunteer host. There seems to be a policy of total anarchy, with the campers left to do as they wish. The lake was very nice and fairly clean, and the sites all have shade. In the campgrounds there is significant erosion everywhere, lots of litter blowing around, the bathrooms were only cleaned once a day and were somewhat run-down and in disrepair. Crowds of unsupervised young children and teenagers were roaming everywhere. There were loud motorcycles and vehicles with boom boxes. Fishheads on the beach in front of our campsite daily from the neighbors 4 sites up cleaning their fish and throwing the waste back into the lake. There were golf carts driving off-road all over the park and cruising around until late at night. There were loud radios and bright lights on all night, barking dogs in almost every campsite, grey water being dumped directly from trailers, fleets of pontoon boats parked directly in front of our campsite blocking our access to the lake, rowdy dangerous boaters towing skiers through kids and flocks of ducks in 3 feet of water next to the bank, jet skis blasting around in circles 15 hours a day in front of the campsites making conversation nearly impossible, boat trailers and vehicles parked on the grass blocking trails to restrooms, etc. All of this combined to make this a less than enjoyable visit. If this campground was managed by the US Corps of Engineers none of this would be tolerated. By the end of the week I was about ready to call the park rangers, the local sheriff, the game warden, animal control and the EPA!

We were here in snowbird season and the campground appeared to cater to longer term folks, mostly in motor homes and huge 5th wheels. I would not characterize this as a friendly place--people appeared very involved in their own circles, even at social events scheduled by the campground. We were first assigned a site that had problems with length and soft turf making it hard to unhook. The neighbor said this site was chronically a problem. We were re-assigned but the TV hookup was corroded and managers weren't in a hurry to look into it. On the plus side it was convenient to places on the island and much much nicer than the crowded public park. We would stay here again, but would expect more courtesy for the price.

The park is clean and well tended and the staff are very helpful. The sites are large, so big rigs are not a problem. The highway (187) leading into the park is fine, but it is very narrow. This is not really a problem since there is so little traffic (at least at this time of year).

This is by far the best campground we have stayed in. It is quiet, secluded, and has a charm all its own. The owner is very nice and accommodating to any needs that may arise. The lots are spacious and shady. There is a pond where you can sit and relax, feed the fish, or watch the deer feed and play in the edge of the woods. We spent a year here working and I would not ever consider staying anywhere else while in this area. I will also make this a vacation spot in the years to come. We were even allowed to plant a garden, which became the campgrounds community garden. Everyone chipped in and we had a wonderful time getting together eating the vegetables of our labor. We made many wonderful friends here and will stay in contact with them. I would recommend Goodwin's to anyone wanting to stay in the Jordan Dam and Lake area.

I would have given a 10 but for the flooding after some heavy rains. Considering the park is quite new, I would have thought they could have done a better job of drainage. Overall the park is spotless, the owners are very friendly, the sites adequate, and roads are paved. The laundromat was spotless. We stayed in a travel trailer for 2 nights, and would stay again. It is easy on/off to I-10, but not close enough to be noisy.

This county park is just above Fountain Hills, AZ in the Phoenix metro area. You can even see the Fountain Hills Fountain way off in the distance. Except for a few airplanes, you wouldn...t know you were so close to civilization. It...s in a lovely Sonoran Desert setting with wide open sky, surrounded by mountains. You drive in and pick your site. A camp host comes by later to collect the fee. The campground creates privacy by using lots of space between sites, especially in the lower campground loop. We stayed in site #56, parallel to the road. This site had a slight incline. Most of the back in sites looked very level. The main gate person and camp ground hosts were all friendly. Showers were clean and hot. We will definitely be back.

The rate we posted is based on our multi-month stay, and does not include the electric bill which averaged about $60-80 month during a fairly cold weather snap. We ran computers and space heaters which made our bill pretty high despite the low kWh charges. The hosts were great and very helpful, the laundry room was clean, and the place is one of the best choices for an in-town RV stay away from the I-5 corridor noise. There is some noise from the commercial district, but it isn't as bad as hearing high speed I-5 traffic. It was a good launch point for shopping, RV repairs, long walks in the Grants Pass neighborhood, and we felt very safe. The hosts live on site and watched our rig when we went out of town. The spaces are gravel in the upper area, and concrete in the lower area. We stayed on the gravel, and other than a few pebbles making their way into the rig every so often, everything worked out.

The owner/managers are very nice down-to-earth people who went out of their way to help us place our 35' fifth wheel. The spaces were small gravel areas separated by grass lawn and trees, and we had no trouble setting up with our three slides. They allowed us to park our truck in an adjoining space - there were other spaces available close by as well. The creek ran in front of the lawn less than 100 feet from our living room window, and the sound put us to sleep every night. It was a very quiet place, clean air, and within walking distance of the downtown Wallow district and its grocery store, restaurants and other amenities. Enterprise and Joseph are easy drives, 20 minutes to Enterprise and less than 10 more minutes to Joseph. Another note: The managers were very helpful in telling us the places to eat, and not to eat in Joseph and Enterprise and elsewhere, and they gave accurate recommendations for RV parks in Idaho for our next trip leg. The park felt safe. There were some quiet and friendly long term tenants there who also kept an eye on things, and everything was well kept. It's a small, rural place, perfect for a quiet stay.

I gave this park a rating of 2 because of the park hosts, they were wonderful. The park is small and cramped. We were given a site with no sewer, and the water was so far away our hose couldn't reach. Fortunately our electric cord was long enough but we needed an adapter. When we opened our front door we had to avoid hitting a car parked next to us. Essentially we paid full price for an electric only site. We only stayed one night. We will not camp here again.

I only found 2 downsides to this campground - the sites were a little small, and it can get expensive if you shop over at the dealership. We were treated very well by all the employees. Price includes breakfast and lunch each day but it's one menu item only. Excellent security. Has a Flying J and Cracker Barrel next door. Camping World on site. If you're attending a rally there or looking for a new RV, it's a great place to stay.

Full timers - everything gets a 10. Friendly helpful staff, great laundry, steady power and strong Wi-Fi. Cement pads and roads. Good location. One caution, sites are tight, not much extra space. We stayed a few months, so the daily rate reflects monthly. Only other complaint is yappy dogs; lost track of how many times we got woke up by barking; but that's getting all too common everywhere. We had one of the few spots with a lot of grass, so it was the dog walk of choice... not much grassy area for pets.

TT is finally working on improving the internal roads. By our next visit in February 2010 we hope the work in finished. The deer herds are pretty, but huge and create a filthy environment for walking your pets. There is not an area where you can walk without stepping in deer droppings. Camper's are allowed to feed deer (TT sells deer corn) at their camp site. This is not a good idea. Sites near the lake and under the tree cover are totally grass-less. You can imagine the mess when it rains. Internet is only available at the lodge. I was able to get a connection parked next to the building one night after they closed, so.... All 50 amp sites will cost you $3 a night. If you are a member and camp in a 30 amp site there is no fee. If you like a woodsy atmosphere, can tolerate the deer droppings, and don't mind the long distance to the lodge (from the areas with less deer population) to get on Wi-Fi then it's not a half bad park. But, it is pretty typical of the TT parks, in the boonies, roads and sites not well maintained, and what I feel could be a health hazard from the deer. Generally, however, sites are ample in length for even big rigs plus a tow vehicle. Roads while not in very good shape (lots of pot holes and ruts) are wide enough not to cause problems in maneuvering into your site. We will return to this park, not because we like it particularly but for other reasons.

We stayed here with RPI. Wireless Internet is with Tengo and very slow. It is $1.00 and gives you 60 mbs. then kicks you off. Cable is $1.00. This is a Western Horizon and if you aren't a member your site is assigned before you arrive. We tried to pull into the assigned site and it was too small to put our slide out so had to go back to the office to get a different site. That was small too and we had to park half of our rig on the cement patio. The pool area is clean and nice and there are several activities. The bathroom and shower area by the pool is clean. The ladies bathroom area at the back end of the park is run down and two showers and only one was working. The wall was torn apart on the second for repairs. The laundry was clean and the washers and dryers only cost $1.00 and were in good condition. If you want to walk in the desert you have to go out the front gate. There are no other exits or entrances.

The July 2008 review is good. Sites are $22 plus 9% tax, we paid the $11 FL resident senior rate plus tax. Bath house was brand new, plus all sites here now have sewer and 50amp service. Some sites are not suitable for large rigs (call), we are a 36' MH and were put in site 29, got it with a little bit of work and did not have much breathing room. Other sites are very large and get booked early. Batwing was real iffy and barely watchable. Verizon cell and broadband were also weak. Nice trails for walking. Not much else around, but it was OK here for a two night stay.

I arrived at this park after hours and, using Mapquest, pulled up to an empty lot in front of an abandoned building complete with stray dogs running in the moonlight. Welcome to the French Quarter. The RV campsites are through the lot and behind the dilapidated building. The rates are very high, much more so on special event nights, but this doesn't bother me as much when I can tell that the park owner spent good money on high quality facilities, fixtures and professional employees. The sites in the back end of the park are right under the freeway. Overall this small park was immaculate. Pricey, but, (to me), worth the thrill of camping in the French Quarter.

There are a lot of regulars at this campground and all are very friendly. The sites can be difficult for leveling or entering with big rigs but expansion is in the planning. Some sites are shaded and some are more open. Workampers for Amazon are here from Mid October to the end of December. No live-ins, very family oriented. I would stay here anytime I was in the area.

As a TT member, camping is free. This park is really far from everything. Quite. Closed except week ends during winter season. We stay here when we come for the Canton, First Monday Trade Days. Sites are spaced out well. Lots of trees and the resulting leaves on the ground. Little grass at the camp sites. Large grassed area in the center of the park. Wi-Fi only at the Activity center. Sites are generally level. Internal roads are dirt and should be graded more frequently. Many campers stored on sites. During the regular season when entire park is open all the time, there are lots of interesting activities at the activity center. Too bad there are not any 50 amp sites or pull-through sites. It gets very hot here in the summer. Our rig has two A/C's and we can only run one and sometimes not that, when cooking. Partly understandable that there is no Wi-Fi at the sites, due to how the camp sites are strung out over such a large area. Nevertheless, if TT wants to call itself a 1st class RV resort they need to upgrade the roads, electricity, Wi-Fi, and include pull-through sites at this park.

We have been coming here at least once a year for several years, we were here in Dec. 2009 and are returning in March 2010. According to the TT web site, work has begun since Dec. on road improvement. It's about time! The roads were terrible. The pull-through sites are also in need of major work. 50 amp service electric, costs $3 extra a day for new 50 amp sites, no charge for the few older 50 amp sites. We are TT members, so no charge unless we get a new 50amp site. A good huge field for pet walking behind the activity center. Wi-Fi at the camp site is provided. However, you need to be in sight of a tower to hold a signal. The system is not really adequate for the number of sites it is serving. If very many are on line at the same time, you will have problems holding a signal. They are long term leasing too many (prime) RV sites. Also they have replaced a lot of RV sites with permanent park units that are being sold for essentially full time occupancy. It is located within minutes of Willis and Conroe. Several flea markets and thrift stores are in a reasonable distance if you enjoy that sort of activity. Many of the Tombal antique shops have gone out of business. Huntsville has some nice antique shops and it's not far away. Houston is easily within driving distance for all sorts of activities.

I agree with other reviewers that the staff and other campers are friendlier here than any of the other TT campgrounds we've stayed. We have already visited 6 of them this season. We will probably return at some point, only because of the weather. The sites are super tight, especially for 40' and longer rigs. Vehicle parking is also tight, and is difficult to park and get completely off the road. I have to wash our dog's feet every time he is walked. His feet get covered with a black sooty substance. The Wi-Fi is only at the Adult Center. As compact as this park is, it should be available at the sites. No designated place to unhook and hookup your tow vehicle, roads are narrow and you block traffic.

Was disappointed but park personnel don't even know when it will happen or how long. There is gravel under the coaches and a small patio pad for each site with very few picnic tables. The restroom and laundry are very clean.
RV area is in back of the motel. The land is on abandoned mercury mining area. The entire area is about as unattractive as we have seen anywhere. The highlight of the park is that there are no permanent trailers. From there it is pretty much downhill. It is a dusty lot with frequent manure droppings around. Cable TV "is not guaranteed" and there is no wi-fi. Staff is not friendly, and there are no discounts of any type. Bank/post office is across street. However, it is less ghastly than BJ's if you want to stay to see 170/Big Bend Ranch State Park Park and west side of BBNP. Then move quickly. Try park listed under Alpine on east side of park for a real treat from where you can visit Chisos Basin and eastern side of BBNP and enjoy this most unusual and entertaining park.
Two beautiful and very different campgrounds. One very new, is big rig friendly with full hookups and the other more rustic, old Florida, for smaller RVs and tents. 11,500 acre park with 13 different natural communities great for bicycling, boats, canoes, kayaks, fishing, swimming (river), horse trails, nature trails, visitor center with terrific presentations for all the senses, campfire circle, ranger programs, 12 mile auto tour. Very fun and convenient cities just outside the entrance on US 1. Ocean & beautiful beaches very close on A1A.

It is a nice park, with easy access. There are several long term residents, but their sites were neat and well kept. There are large pull through and back in sites, level concrete pads, and good roads. This is the third time we've stayed here and each time we've enjoyed the stay very much. It is a clean well kept park, with a large recreation room, clean laundry facility, clean restrooms and showers. It is close to Loop 289 but the road noise not bad. It is close to the mall, movies, restaurants, etc. We stayed here for a week this time.

I wish to warn anyone to make sure you speak to someone before you stay here-you may wind up with an unsatisfactory site. I wound up leaving early the next morning and going to the other RV park. I called two times to make a reservation and was not called back. I chose to go anyway due to its close proximity to the entrance to the the Joshua Tree National Monument. I thought if there was nothing available I would go to the other park. I pulled up to the office and asked if a space was available. She asked if I had an adapter as she only had a fifty amp space available at an empty mobile home lot. She told me I would need to unhook my truck as the road to the site was behind me and there was no place to turn around. I unhooked my truck and drove to the site and went back for my motor home. There were two very old trailers (not mobile homes) on either side of me with one having a lot of clutter around it. Turned out the sewer hookup would not fit my RV sewer hose and I was nervous about the electric hookup voltage since it was a mobile home hookup so I dry docked for the night at a bit more than dry dock price. One of the "neighbors" was noisy at night. I did see some nice RV sites at the front of the park; so my advice is to make sure you get a reservation for what you want before you go. On the other hand if you want stunning views and real quiet (this is in January) go to the other park.

We camped here in late November with two young children. It was our first camping trip and it couldn't have been a more perfect spot. The kids were able to ride their bikes and scooters around the campsite and campground and play football and frisbee in the grassy field just across the small road from where we parked. There are fantastic hikes, simple enough for young children with cave-like finds and fantastic natural formations. Also, there are sand dunes where my kids had a blast making "sand angels." Although the campground is small, it is really spacious. Our spot had an adjacent covered patio with picnic table and barbeque. There aren't any fire rings, but they allow you to bring one, so we brought our own fire ring and wood. The weather was very much on the verge of going from chilly to downright cold. I would not hesitate to camp at Snow Canyon again in November but I'd expect any later to bring weather too cold for enjoying the outdoor activities with young children. We only used the bathroom facilities once or twice. They were stinky but appeared to be quite clean. We did not use the showers. The only reason I'm not giving this park 10 stars is because it doesn't have sewer hook-ups and that would be really useful with our small trailer and it's small gray water tank. That would have made it perfect.

Spent a week here in November: in a back-in site by the stream. All sites are large, so we never felt crowded. The people in charge are very friendly, and helpful as is the owner. We enjoyed our visit so much we will return for another week in December. Within driving distance to many interesting towns for shopping and site-seeing. We highly recommend this RV Resort.

This a very nice park with large spaces and wonderful people running it. They were helpful. Park has all gravel streets and are will marked. This park is mostly workers that live here; it's not the usual RV park that caters to Snow Birds. Wireless internet was great and free. Only downside is no cable TV at the sites and there is no place where you can gather to watch TV. Silver City is the most friendly town I have ever been in. I would stay here again but in Spring or early Fall as Winter is too cold.

This is our first time here and we've already booked two more trips next year. We love it: peaceful, quiet, clean and my hubby can fish for trout. Big sites: we were in #20 and we think it's the best site in the park. The only negative is that they do not enforce dog poop laws and there are tons of old, dried-up poop on the grass everywhere. They do have staff going around with shovels but apparently they miss alot.

I have been a full-time RVer for a the last couple of years. I stayed here for a few months this year and I feel the need to express my gratitude to the owners. I love people who are good at what they do, and these people take great pride in their park. I have stayed at several different parks, and I have never had such great service. Everything is super clean, and they are at your service and always with a smile. If you love the outdoors, you could not pick a better park. If you appreciate a nice creek and the most beautiful trees, you will love this park. Hiking trails in every direction, with beautiful sites. Downtown Manitou Springs is just down the street with great shops, fun people to watch, and great music. If you are a dog person you will love this town and park. Beautiful hiking trail from the park that leads to downtown Manitou Springs, and the town is very dog friendly. There is even a bar that lets you bring your dog inside. I wish I could remember the name, but just ask, and you will find it. Thanks: I will forever appreciate all you did for me while I was here.

They take great pride in their park and take very good care of the facilities. The bathrooms were spotless and very nice. The dog run was a big plus. They even had some toys which came in handy since I forgot to bring mine. The sites were a good size and level even though the entire park is on the side of a hill. The park was very quiet and the Wi-Fi worked great. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

The receptionist has always been polite and has always given me my Good Sam Discount. Fairly nice park with level sites and most are concrete. Some sites are really narrow and some are short. We had trouble with the Wi-Fi in some sites so now try to get close to the bathhouse for best reception. We will continue to stay here when visiting this area.
The tent village is along a nice babbling brook. Only drawback is that there were no fire rings in the tent village which made it hard to start a fire and keep it contained. The uphill climb was a great workout for getting to the bathrooms and other areas of the grounds. Positives include the access to area's freeways and the commuter rail station. Make sure you check out some of the mead factories south of town: bring a French dictionary, a few of them don't speak English. Make sure you check out the underground in Montreal, there is lots of interesting stuff down there and the Metro is the only way to do Montreal. Old Port parking is pricey. There are a few places that can do street parking near a metro stop.

Park is located approximately 30 minutes from Rehoboth Beach: an easy drive in the off-season. Campground is well maintained; however, most trees have been removed. Grassy sites are OK if dry. Site markings are a little confusing for new RV'ers. Campground was closing the weekend we were here so the campground managers crowded all campers into one area. We understood why, but it was still crowded. Limited cable TV channels.

The Good: Level sites, good water pressure, good power, friendly manager, clean bathrooms, clean laundry, minimal Wi-Fi. The Bad: This is a trailer park were over half are workers that don't pickup around their RVs. Dogs are allowed to be put out on ropes and left out all day and bark all day! Be prepared to wake up at 5 am as all the rednecks start their trucks. Dog crap everywhere. This is also a biker park! Trucks parked in the grass, vehicles parked behind RVs in the woods. Trailer trash is alive and well here. Roads are dirt or something like that. I disagree with the previous review on rules. I believe someone told them they had to have rules but they are not enforced. It's pitch black at night and with the trailer trash, you don't get a comfortable feeling. Recommendation: overnight only. We stayed here 4 days and hated every minute of it: there are no refunds.

We have been here 3 weeks now: our intended stay is 10 months due to a temporary work assignment on Fort Bliss. Other posters complained about lack of space, dirt lots, no trees and spool-type tables. These are the temporary, overnight or late arrival sites. If you insist on the pull through sites this is what you get. Long term, extended stay and reservation sites are back-in parking which are very roomy with a shade tree, concrete patio and a picnic tables. The park is clean and secure and the groundskeeper does a great job. The fenced dog park is a huge bonus and well maintained. It is raked daily and sanitized weekly. Two separate pet yards in one area. Laundry room is nice, office staff try to help but they are confused about the services available. Propane is an issue unless you can haul your tanks to Mission RV fill station Monday through Friday, 3 specific times per day, during business hours. Doesn't help if you work. Class A rigs: prepare to tear down your patio area, pack up everything, secure your storage, pull in your slide, lower your leveling jacks and drive to propane. $3.69 here and $2.75 just a few minutes away. No delivery service is allowed in. The propane company says they will come deliver to you if 8-10 others need it also. Service says sign up at Mission Park Office, Mission Park Office says call their service. Hmmm: shouldn't be that difficult to maintain a sign-up list since the gas service is willing to come to sites. Pool is still closed due to a hail storm over a month ago. Not sure why: some holes in the plexi-roof? $320.00 plus electric per month: track your own meter readings to verify. Best park in El Paso. Tons of really close restaurants and shopping just minutes away. Yes, there is freeway noise but after a while it is just a background whir. We have an outside entertainment center and it didn't bother us. It is safe, clean and accommodating. As for dirt lots: it's the desert, we don't do lawn.
This park was very nice and very clean and very friendly! Far from being a "parking lot," the spaces were very spacious and the views are beautiful. Gorgeous sunsets and beautiful snow-capped mountains surround the area. The casinos and area attractions were very close, the restaurants were very, very nice and there are so many things to do. We recommend this park to everyone we know and don't know. When we were here, we were greeted by the park hosts. They went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay feel as though we were at home. We will continue to travel to Santa Fe every chance we get! We will always return to this wonderful park! So, fellow travelers... make it your park when down in that region. Stay awhile and let the owners make you feel like you've come home too! We had a blast at the Buffalo Thunder Casino and even won some money: so much fun! We will be back next spring: you can bet on that!

There are more seasonal sites than nightly/weekly ones so the campground wasn't very populated during the week. When the weekend people came it was obviously busier and louder. We didn't mind. They had decent, clean, pay shower facilities: paid a quarter for what seemed like 5 minutes of water. During the weekend, the seasonal kids hungout at the playground until 11pm and in the morning there was tons of garbage littered about. The owners come and clean it up and grade the roads daily. The pool was warm and clean. It is about a 8-10 minute drive to the beach. Didn't really like to drive and find parking, but it was ok. The only negative about this place is that the mosquitoes were worse than horrible! So bad all day and night you couldn't even sit outside without being eaten alive. Burning a fire didn't help. Citronella candles all over didn't help, bug spray didn't help, and our friends even bought a screened tent to use, but the mosquitoes got in somehow. We liked this place a lot but would not return because the bugs were so bad. Don't plan on sitting outside if you go camping here.

A clean and quiet park. Within walking distance to food and shopping. The area itself is newer and we felt very comfortable walking at night. We would stay here again.

My wife and I have stayed here every year for the past 4 years. We stay 6 months in the summer. It is under new ownership since this past summer and the changes impressive. The staff is very helpful, always smiling and willing to help. Free Wi-Fi was added at all sites. The place is spotless. We even have access to the friendly staff at the corporate office. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy your vacation (or in our case, get away from the Texas heat!), I recommend La Pacifica. We already have our reservations for 2010.
