This park has been a delight. The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. We have wanted to explore Albuquerque more and this is the perfect place to do it from. Convenient locations for shopping as well. We will be here for awhile and plan to make this a regular stop when we travel. Husband has had great care at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque. We used our own Wi-Fi, but found the cable TV to be excellent. We also enjoyed the hot tub.
Many permanent campsites. Side by side hookups put you very close to neighbor. Our sewer hookup was under neighbors slide. No respect for campsites from resident campers, they walked right through and kids played wherever they wanted without supervision. Grass sites and since it had rained before we got here, the ground was soft, hoping we'll be able to get out. We were supposed to have a back in site which would have given us a river view but someone was in our site so we had to pull in and face the trees. We will not be back.
We had reserved a spot and asked for a clear southern sky for our satellite. When we arrived we asked to make sure we would not be blocked by trees and the manager said he would move us to a spot with no trees but it would not be paved. What a mistake we made. Not only was it unpaved, it was not level, had no picnic table and was right next to the highway with a lot of noise. We road past the original spot and there were no trees to block the satellite so I don't know why he moved us. This park is not well cared for and is showing it's age.
Campground is owned by non campers and it shows. The spaces are large but residents show no respect and walk right through the spaces. Dog rules are ignored and noisy dogs and the smell of dog pee was annoying. The office kept no regular hours so checking for mail or packages was tedious. It is reasonably priced for parks in the Yellowstone area.
Back in sites, but adequate. No 50 amp service for short term visitors. We were on back row which gave us a view of the storage area, not attractive. Osprey nest was fun to watch and the town of Pinedale, about 10 miles north had good shopping. Price reflects C2C membership. We would stay again.
Good stop along the highway. Open sites easy for satellite use. No problem getting big rig in and out, has long pull-through sites. Some train noise, but not bad. Easy on and off I-80. Would stop again when passing through.
We stayed for a month. They never mowed our site the whole time we were here and it was needed when we got here. Grass was up to the seats on the picnic table before we left. Spaces were side to side and so tight we could not open our bay doors all the way or use our awning. The monthly fee was only for 28 days, we had to pay full rate for the other days, which was not told to us ahead of time. WiFi was marginal. The location is good to explore Estes Park, Rock Mountain National Park and Loveland. Office staff was friendly.
A beautiful setting among the pines. Had many hungry hummingbirds. Only negative was the train noise. Will stay again when in the area. Staff was friendly. Spaces were large and had a nice grill and picnic table. Satellite was not great at our site; other sites would work better, but the camp WiFi worked well.
We were concerned having read other reviews regarding the staff but things have definitely changed. The staff and work campers couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Two things that need improvement. The pet policy: there was no designated pet area and we had to ask people to not walk their dog in our site and twice found our wheel covers used by a dog! Not pleasant. Second: the WiFi is really weak and we were unable to access it most of the time.
The dirt road coming into the campground is rough on a big rig, shrubs scratch. Once in our site we had a wonderful relaxing visit. The setting couldn't be more perfect and our dish even connected us to the internet with no problem. Don't pass this by if you have the opportunity and want to relax. Take a dip in the hot spring for a special treat.
This was a one night stopover for us and found it perfect for our needs. Nice large pull-thru site with full hookups. Easy in and out to highway. Very quiet. Not a destination campground but great for a stop over. Our rate was Passport America.
A wonderful surprise. We were just passing through on our way east so only had an overnight stop but couldn't believe how beautiful. Lush and green, very friendly and helpful staff, nice size sites. This park is a little treasure we hope to come back to and stay awhile.
Sites are small and unlevel. No AT&T cell service. Staff was not helpful. Would not stay here again. Rate was for Coast to Coast. Charged extra for electric. Campground reflects poorly on Western Horizon. Place should not be called a "Resort".
Spaces are not marked, just large field. Pet policy was not enforced, neighbors dog left present right in front of our cargo door. We had staff move trash can away from our front door. No trees to block satellite. Not hard to get in and out with big rig. Closed during special events so check calendar or call ahead.
