Very dark and quiet parking at night. Too bad the campground is inside the State Park, because you HAVE TO PAY $8 (ONLY CASH) to enter the grounds; plus pay to stay. Interior roads are a little rougher that I like to drive on, and the infrastructure is showing its age. However, there are signs of maintenance and upkeep - just hope it is soon and enough.
A very friendly couple own and operate this campground. Dogs are allowed, if the owners are well-behaved. Please pray for rain in their area, the interior road dust was very bad. Looking forward to the next time we are in the area and can stay some more.
Even though Capitol KOA is close to Baltimore, DC and Annapolis, it is too expensive for what you get! Hostess checked us in, and we found out later from another camper that we should have gotten a 'packet' containing maps and other stuffers. The dump station is on the wrong side for most motorhome utility basements. We got a lecture about how KOA is cutting back on quantity and quality of dogs, yet there were plenty of breeds at the park. Around midnight 10/08/07 our travel buddy was approached at the trash dumpster by a couple asking: "What is there to do around here?" Strange, but true.
