Stayed here one night while passing through the area. First, husband and I were pleasantly surprised that this state park offered some sewer hookups, which was a great plus. Pretty little lake; since we were just staying one night--a Thursday night--we were able to get a "premium site" by the lake. Very nice site with a lot of deep space to the water. Paved semi-circle pull-through, table, fire ring, etc. with beautiful view and access to the water because the lake was a little low. Cons: Sites in need of some mowing/trimming. Some sites in desperate need of repaving--mostly the sites in area 3, which we noticed while taking a walk. Also, several large trees had to be cut down (due to the drought?), which the park staff was in the process of doing. But still a lot of tress remaining. Did make for lots of firewood available to buy. The host that was monitoring the area was not friendly. Such a shame the state of Texas doesn't allocate more money to the upkeep of its beautiful parks.

VERY large park that is open only from April 1--November 1. We were told that the WI-FI had been improved; it was very fast. Phone service worked great and cable was provided. Some sites were shaded and some had no shade, especially some of the pull-through sites for bigger RVs. Lots of amenities, especially for families with children: fishing pond, nice playground, miniature golf, swimming pool, basketball court, volleyball net, and grassy baseball field to name a few. We stayed close to Halloween and the park staff had a costume contest for the kids. On the flip-side, if you prefer a less active environment and/or if you have a dog that goes nuts when kids on bikes zip by during a walk, this may not be the place for you. Some children were supervised, some not. Our space was space 40, a back-in, and it was not very deep so we had to angle our truck sideways in front of our trailer. Sites were such that trailers are lined up fairly close together with no landscaping in between; sorta like a huge gravel parking lot. Sites were not paved but interior roads were. The park is surrounded by hills, which is pretty, and has a stream running through on one side. I think the views from the fish pond side were better than where we were parked. There is a street that runs through the park that gives access to private homes. Restrooms were clean, and so was the laundry room. The laundry room had several units of washers/dryers all in working order at the time we used them. It was a short drive into nearby communities. Friendly staff.

Stayed one night while passing through the area. This was late October and the staff working at that time were extremely nice and helpful. We parked in the area that provided both 30 and 50 amp electric service. Very shaded. Good paved interior roads and sites, although some turns were a little tight. Long sites--we were able to keep our double cab truck hooked up to our 28' trailer. Did need to use leveling blocks. Appears to be a very large park with lots to offer if staying a few days--hiking trails, tennis courts, softball field, disc golf course, and seasonal horse back riding, to name a few.

Stayed one night while traveling through the state. Great COE park-friendly staff, well-maintained, great interior roads, nice space between sites, lots of trees/shade and some sewer hook-ups. The $11 rate reflects a National Park/Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass discount. Nice. We were assigned space 51, a waterfront site on the Tombigbee River. Got to view tug boats pushing barges up and down the river. There were tug boats running throughout the night; this did not bother us; I have a light case of insomnia, so I just happened to hear them. They are actually pretty cool at night because they are well lit. Also had friendly neighbors.

Stopped here one night on a road trip. Very nice county park on pretty lake. Several nice back-in sites along the water. Retaining wall along the water by the waterfront sites, which I thought was a great idea--grass was mowed up to the retaining wall, which would be good if fishing. Boat launch and dock and another across a small inlet from the park. We chose a pull-through site (#7) with sewer hookup, which was only an additional $3. This site was long in length; space between trailers not as much as a state park but still okay. Great interior roads. Can't comment on restroom facilities just because did not use them. Verizon card worked good for Internet access and no problem with phone. As a previous reviewer stated, there are limited trees due to the 2008 tornado but still a pretty park that is well maintained.

Stayed one night while traveling through the area. Easy access from I-20. Grounds of this park were immaculate--mowed and trimmed. Very nice fenced pet area where pets can go off-leash. Interior roads could be improved but nice paved, level sites. Cute patio-type furniture on concrete instead of the usual picnic tables. Did not use any other facilities so cannot comment on restrooms, showers, etc. Friendly staff. Roomy enough between sites but no landscaping, etc., to block view of your neighbors. High marks for outside cleanliness and maintenance. Not far from Crawdaddy's Cajun Restaurant which was really good.

Nice park that was well maintained. All RV sites are pull-through with lots of space at each site and between each site. Heavily shaded sites with variety of trees and palms. Park has boat ramp and nice docks, including a fishing dock. Nice feature was a washer and a dryer at each restroom. Phone service worked when I stepped outside the canopy of trees; internet service, although a little slow using Verizon wireless device. Drive into Historic Savannah was 40 minutes and to Tybee Island was one hour. The museum inside the office and the tour of the fort was interesting. Enjoyed our stay. Price reflects a 10% senior discount.

This park has a rustic, ranch-type environment, which our family came to greatly enjoy. Kid- and pet-friendly. Set up for horse campers also. Very large spread-out park. The restrooms/showers/laundry toward the back of the property near the ATV rentals appeared newer than those at the office. Very nice and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a minor repair request for our site, which was done quickly. This park has stables offering one and two-hour rides at a reasonable charge. Horses in good condition and the wrangler we had leading our ride was an experienced horse person and very good at taking care of the riders. There did seem to be a fly problem around the stable and the petting pens. We stayed in the full hook up area which did not have any shade and no privacy; however, it was not an issue for us because most people (including us) were gone during the day. Yes, there are no paved roads, which did get a little dusty (until a light rain). Due to this being a horse-friendly park, there would be horse droppings to dodge on the roads, but staff cleaned the roads regularly. And, yes, the pine beetle has done damage to the pine trees in this entire area of Grand Lake, but there is still lots of beauty to be enjoyed. We did not participate in the ice cream socials, wagon rides or pancake breakfast, but did attend the Sunday morning Cowboy Church which was a blessing. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice RV/cabin community. The space we rented was on the narrow Swan River that runs through one end of the park. Very beautiful setting. Our space was situated between two cabins or chalets. Beautiful landscaping, nice paved streets, easy access. Would stay here again.

Stayed here one night on our way to Colorado. Office looked okay from the outside, but small and dirty inside. Grounds not kept up. Noticed grassy area where the miniature golf course was located needed mowing and trimming. Playground messy and dirty. Spaces oddly arranged--we were parked end-to-end to another trailer. Glad we were just passing through. Surprised Trailer Life had this park rated higher than a one or two. One pro: their Wi-Fi.

Stayed here one night passing through the area. Very nice park! Friendly staff, manicured sites, very clean and large restroom/shower area. A lot of amenities. Paved streets and some shade. Would definitely stay here again. Cons: weak Wi-Fi--tried to access more than once with no luck; and, a little pricey.
