Tremont Outdoor Resort is our favorite Campground in the Townsed/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. This is our second trip and we stayed in the same site (by chance) that we did the previous year. Nice wooden covered decks on the river site, no issues with power, wifi or cable - but the water pressure is somewhat lower. You can not reserve a particular site (unless you book for a week), but we request a river access site and have not been disappointed. The pool is very nice, although chilly, and they cleaned it every morning. The bathrooms are very clean, but you need to remember a code to access. The staff does a good job of monitoring the camp ground as we watched them run off some rowdy teenagers that parked in the campground to drink beer and jump of the bridge into the creek! Easy access to Townsend and Cades Cove. Make sure you take your bikes as there are great opportunities to ride in both places. Although the price is more than we like to pay, it is typical for the area. We will be back for a full week next year.
We have stayed at Bald Mountain Camping Resort four times in the last few years and thus far it is our favorite campground. The facilities are very clean, the grounds are kept clean, and the staff is very helpful. We have always been allowed to choose the exact site we want and the map posted on their website is fairly accurate. My only complaint is that the wifi is very week and sometimes non-existent. If you need wifi, this might not be the place for you or you might need a site very close to the office. We will be returning in Oct. 2012.
