We overnighted here after the Hershey RV show. The staff and the facilities could not have been nicer. There was a lot of big rig traffic, but it was well organized and contained to one area of the park. There was no mention of Wi-Fi in the literature or upon check-in, but I also forgot to ask. Although the rates may be a bit high, this park has done a remarkable recovery since they were devastated by the floods last year. We will stay here again.
This campground is all about the location. It is approximately 1 mile from Pocono Raceway and is a preferred destination for some race fans. I chose this campground while spending the weekend at the NASCAR race for the pool and FHU, neither of which are available at the track infield. While the pool is small, it was very clean and met expectations. The hookups have several sites sharing posts. A little inconvenient. The sites closest to the road are the most developed. The remainder are really situated in a large, grassy field. No pads and virtually no access roads. Very few of the sites are level. The restrooms were adequate, but over used and staff wasn't able to keep up. There is ice and firewood available, but no camp store. In their defense, they state that starting in 2013 major renovations will be taking place and they are actively seeking user input as to which amenities are most important. If attending the races I would stay here again; otherwise probably not unless I just needed an overnight stop.
We stayed in one of their standard back in sites that back up to the tracks. We were there for 5 days and the trains never bothered us at all. There is not a lot of extras but the pool was immaculate and all 3 play areas kept our 6 yr old entertained. The only negative in this regard is the fact that approx 1/3 of the electronic games were not working in the game room. Being on the Williamsburg public bus line is convenient but not overly so. The service is not frequent enough and service to Busch Gardens was not great. You can't beat the price though. The most outstanding element of this family run and family friendly park is the staff. They were all truly excellent. We would gladly stay here again.
We stayed here twice as layovers to and from Williamsburg, VA. We love the large variety of sites available, from open pull-through sites to primitive tent sites back in the trees, plus everything in between. There are several activities for the kids as well as the adults. We haven't yet taken advantage of the tours and shuttle bus to D.C. but we plan to on a return visit.
A nice basic park but advertising is a little misleading. The game room is not operational. The footpath to fishing, dead ends at a town road. No stream found. The unheated, outdoor pool was usable (and popular with many folks) and maintained fairly well, but still suffered from detritus falling from the trees regularly. Our rate is averaged over 3 days. Week days are cheaper than weekends, and we had a $4.00/day, per child added charge with 2 kids. All camp staff was friendly, especially with the kids. We would likely not stay here again, as there are better deals available.
