This park is so pretty and quiet. We just loved it. Due to high water all water activities were suspended so there was not much to do. Even the fishing pier was under water. One of the campground loops was completely closed. The restrooms were clean and well kept. We met some very nice people camping there all of whom said Caddo Lake was one of their favorite parks. The only negative we have is that the pull through sites are very tight and hard to maneuver and it was very frustrating. They need to clear out a little more space at each site. If it had not been for that I would have given them a 10.
The view from this park is outstanding, and we really liked the way the loops were laid out. We felt like we actually had some private space. The folks who manage the park were very friendly. You are escorted to your site, and the trash is picked up daily. Many sites have cement pads which is great. The turns in the loops are tight which means leaving ruts on the grass inevitable. My only negative would be that the bathrooms/shower need some work. We stayed in the 5th wheel section, and the toilet was so high off the ground it was a challenge. Also the shower is in the same place (there is only one toilet and shower in that area) and there are no hooks or chairs or bench to place your clothes. The laundry is free which is very nice, but it is above the bathroom and you must climb MANY steps to get to it - with all your clothes. All in all because of the view we would definitely go there again.
It rained all the time and the campground was very muddy and rutty. They need a lot more gravel on those sites that are not cement. The owners are very nice and friendly. The bathrooms at the front of campground were nicer than those in the back. My BIGGEST complaint is that during the night someone siphoned a great deal of fuel out of our truck- more than a half of tank. As a result we will NEVER stay there again.
This park is quiet and very nice and very clean. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. There is not much to do other than hike the trails but it is very pretty. The bathroom is clean and modern. My request would be that they put a few benches along the trails, install a few full hookups and have some kind of internet access. I have an AT&T card for my laptop but there was no AT&T service in the campground. As footnote our GPS brought us in via Kentucky Highway 22 which was a BIG mistake. Highway 22 is very narrow and curvy and not made for 5th wheels. Next time I will double check and compare routing.
