Don"t let the drive to the park scare you away. The road is uneven, going through an industrial ship building area and doesn't seem too appealing; however, once you arrive at the park, it is very well cared for and seemed to be safe. We were here for a week and enjoyed it. They have a shuttle that will take you to the French Quarter for a fee which we did several times. They have a bar and restaurant on site which was pretty good with live music on certain nights. Jacuzzi was too small and pool not heated, but overall this is a good place to stay when visiting New Orleans.
Wow, what a view. We had a site backed up to the river/bay and it was beautiful. Got to see an incredible sunset and awoke to dolphins swimming off the beach a few hundred yards out. We only stayed one night, but wish we would have stayed longer. Location was right off the main highway, but traffic noise didn't seem too much. Would stay here again.
This is a great RV spot with the largest campsites we have been to. We had our 3/4 ton pickup and towing 37' RV and there was more room than we needed. Grounds are very neat, and hosts were very friendly. Only reason we didn't give it a 10 was due to the fact jacuzzi was not available during our stay. Would certainly stay here again.
We stayed here for 2 nights as PA members. The folks at the front desk and in the park are great and very helpful. We had a blowout of a tire just prior to arriving, and they called a local tire place to see if they had a replacement tire, which they did. The park was very clean, wide spaces and if the weather was warmer they have a fishing pond. Unfortunately we were here during record low temperatures. The park is a few miles away from the interstate, and somewhat close to RR tracks but we would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
Park staff is very friendly and helpful. Some sites are cement, but most are gravel or dirt and not very level. We were able to level our trailer with a couple blocks. You are in the trees so stuff falls on your RV; especially. if it's rainy and windy. But hey, it's Mother Nature. Road noise from the highway depending on where your site is. Opening of deer season sounded like a military firing range and shooting started at dawn. I think it is safe but be prepared. Drive to Historic Savannah is about 1/2 hour, but an easy drive for the most part. We would stay here again.
Very nice park although the speed bumps are really obnoxious as they are every couple hundred feet and are significant. That being said, the campground was spacious, constantly cleaned, and not too bad a drive (25 min) to the Historic area of Charleston. We would definitely stay here again.
We have been on the road for eight months and have stayed in 15 or so parks. This was by far the worst place we have stayed. Questionable neighborhood, filthy complex, trash dumpsters overflowing, filthy restrooms with no toilet paper or paper towels, un-even sites that were filthy. Our power box did not work. Hard to believe they charge what they do for this RV park. I would highly recommend staying anywhere else other than here.
