We have stayed in this park for 5 summers in a row. Location, Location, Location! Right in the middle of Jackson. As previous comments have suggested, they have rules that are enforced here, but the result is a clean, quite establishment. We have no complaint and will continue to come here for many summers to come.
This is by far the nicest Rv Park in Durango! The owner has demonstrated his commitment to spend money and create a real nice park. Has Riverfront sites, and not some dirty little stream, a real beautiful large running river. Great amenities for kids. Heated CLEAN pool, Ice Cream Shop, very well stocked General store, and an impressive gift shop. Also game room, 24 hour laundry room and Pancake/Sausage breakfast on weekends. Oh: did I mention lightning fast internet from one of the sites furthest from the Office. We will be back! (And I am picky!)
We will not return to Campland after staying here 3 years in a row! The place has gone WAY downhill. The place is so overfilled, that you can not even begin to get ANY privacy until you close your eyes to sleep. And that is after having to call the Park Rangers every night to chase off the dozens and dozens of kids grinding their skateboards until midnight, yelling words that would make your skin curl and making life miserable. People everywhere! Running through your site 24/7, smoldering wood fires ruining the interior of coaches, rude staff, would not even think of sending a fax for us, as we looked at the fax machine 5 feet away, they told us "Go to Kinkos". So many people, bike and scooter crashes are very common. Grass cutting and blowers a 7:30am, like it or not, blowing grass all over your coach and personal belongings, once again, they can care less. Hundreds of people come in everyday from outside to completely "stuff" the so called "private beach". Wireless is not a choice during peak hours (4pm-11pm)7 days a week, no IP addresses available when your competing with 3000 other people for the same addresses. Laundry room is full to capacity all day, I could go on and on, what a shame, this place used to be fun for the family, now, I want my 7 year old as far as possible from the unbelievable things that go on here, as my neighbor the spot next to me described it, it is like a drunk college town. I was here 15 miserable nights, this stuff went on and on and on, even after numerous folks complained! With no other parks having any space we were stuck. Have fun at Campland, you will never forget it!
I would not stay here again. Very big ant problem in the entire park, and folks that have been here a while said it is a long term problem. Every site is packed with ants. They climb up your water hose and into the coach! Very little grass, mostly dirt park. If you have a Class A, the trees are very low and it is almost impossible to maneuver the park without seriously scraping your roof. I broke my A/C shroud going less than 5 mph.
PROS: Beautiful Surroundings, nice staff, easy access from I-5. CONS: No Grass, lots of dirt, early morning train noise nearby. If your looking for "True" camping experience, this is the park for you. Very nice staff, spaces were acceptable for double slides. your right in the middle of the mountains, with lots of BIG trees and trails and such. Not for folks that want the "RV Resort" feel, like I said, more of a true campground thing. I would stay here again for an overnight stop.
PROS: Nice Location, Beautiful Surroundings, Nice Staff, 50 amps, paved roads, large grass pads between sites. CONS: $7.00 for Internet, Road noise if you're in the front half of the park, (nothing ear plugs can't help), very narrow roads and pads, as mentioned in a previous post, doable, just very tight, plan on unhooking your car for sure. We would stay here again.
I was hesitant to go here after reading the reviews, however, we found this park simply wonderful. Big wide spots, beautiful surroundings, clean fresh pool & spa, lovely staff, fast free internet, quite, clean showers and rest rooms. We will return here for sure!
I will never stay at this park again. First off, they told me the Freeway noise is "not a problem". I beg to differ, this park is RIGHT NEXT to Interstate 15, and the "wall" they mention, dose next to next to nothing to block out the traffic or the trains they negelected to mention. I had to unhook my car to get out in the morning, these spots should not be classified as "pull through". (And I have been driving Semi's and RV's for 25+ years, if anybody can pull through, I can!) Then, the water pipes on the grass areas are broken, sprinkler mud puddles all over, bugs, bugs, and more bugs. One trash can all the way in the front of the park, (long walk from the overnighter spots, which are right next to the freeway).Oh ya, the internet is so slow I had to wait a day to get to my next location just to write this review. Wal Mart blows this place away!
The owner greeted us very warmly. Nice folks run this place. Pull through sites are long, and just a bit on the narrow side for double slides. There are beautiful trees all around the park. I would have given them a 9 but the highway noise is really loud if you get a spot on the front half of the park. I will use this park again, however a rear spot only.
