Extremely nice park; lovely pond with chapel and gazebo; well kept. We stayed in an area for pull-throughs only for the night, but walked the entire campground. Enjoyed the peaceful quiet and the deer that wandered the campground. The only negative is the road leading to the campground, but we didn't think it nearly as bad as some previous reviewers; we have seen worse. We had no problem with it. It is a bit remote, but hey sometimes that's really a plus. It was for us.
We stayed 8 nights and think it's the best campground we've ever stayed in and we've traveled across the country 3 times! When you turn in the driveway, you know it's good. Those rolling hills are manicured like a golf course. We were there after Labor Day, so pool was closed. 20-mile view from top of hill was spectacular, as was the pond with gazebo, soybean field and woods walking path.
Helpful, friendly staff. The pull-thru's were a gravel parking lot with no shade. There was a view of a lake. Quite a few of long-term workers there; but most units looked OK. This was not a park to enjoy the park, but was good for an overnight stay. We stayed 3 nights and visited Creation Museum (5 miles away!) and National Air Force Museum in Dayton. I was unable to get on the Internet at our site (#22), but went to the laundry and used my laptop there. VERY close to Interstate with noise. If there had been a wreck, they would have crashed into our camper. Ask for a site closer to the office.
Clean, well-maintained campground. Very popular; they actually have waiting lists for holiday week ends. Staff was very friendly. Laundry was spotless. Nice shade trees. Good area for exploring Lexington/Frankfort area. The only down side is that it is a full, busy park, so you are among many other campers, but it was not a problem for us. Internet was good at first, but went down on our second day; someone was working on it. We enjoyed our stay. Would stay here again.
Beautiful and well-kept state park. Quiet and peaceful. The road in according to Woodalls and road signs, was very narrow and winding. We took a slightly different route out, recommended by campground personnel, which was much better. Call and ask staff for best route.
Clean, well-kept, helpful and friendly staff. Lovely setting with rolling hills and 2 ponds. The only minus is that there is no shade, but that was not a problem at this time. Near interstate, but for that convenience, you get the noise. Was not a problem for us. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
