Another one bites the dust. Web site says closing for renovations February 2, 2014. Arrived last night and employees are all fired as of that date. Property has been sold to Disney for an employee parking lot. Enjoying our last stay at this great park. Nice pool and hot tub. Has a game room; the kids like the vending machines. Only a few RVs still here. Disney nightly Fireworks are awesome, framed by palm trees.

We had an excellent stay here at the springs. Its one of the best in southern California. We camped in a 35 foot motor home near hole #5 beautiful sites, perfectly level and new pads. The electric hookups are new and available from either side. We checked in ok, and got a package for 2 massages for my wife. They have a lot of packages. Nice friendly people. We had 3 kids and 2 dogs with us. Office friendly prices were good for water and snacks. We did tennis. Pools were great and warm, nice mineral baths and Jacuzzi. Ping pong was great for kids. Massage great. We did tennis with kids walking as you need drivers license for carts. WILL return EXCELLENT.

Huge park with 500 sites, they are relatively large and spacious. There are no picnic tables, bring your own. Wi-Fi only at office. There is mini-golf ($3), waterslides ($10/hr), really nice pools (3 of them), small kids fishing hole, and horseshoes. Vail Lake is available to resort guests for $10 person about 2 miles away from resort. A bike is needed to get around here. The restroom was clean. Dumpsters were overflowing after weekend. We stayed in the oaks area which is more central. Lots of golf carts here.

We stayed for a cub scout campout; it was a lot of fun. We stayed in site 45 which was big and very isolated. There is a leaning tree and we came in after dark so it took us 1/2 hour to maneuver on the spot. We have a 35 foot 13 foot high rig. Has shade and sun. The park is real nice with trails, and lots of real nature. This area of park is non-hookups and there is no generator use in the park. Nice county park; there are horseshoes. Restrooms were clean. There are nice cabins to rent. They are new as the old ones burned down a few years ago in the fire.

We came late and slipped the $20 into holder at gate. $12 night plus $8 entrance fee. Found great spot. Nice concrete pad with table. Generator hours 8-10 and 4-6 pm. Its great park in Sonoran desert. Your are camping by giant cactus's. No power, there are water spigots all around but for filling bottles only no connections. Hot and dry. Nice. Visitor center.

Very close to Tombstone historical, district, about 4 blocks. Great location in town everything walkable. We stayed in a space near the laundry and rest rooms they had a covered picnic table there. Its a large older park. There is a street running between the two sections. One part for the permanent members of the park the other for weekenders. The park is older needs some paint. The owners collect things and leave them about the park a little cluttered. The front office knows all about the town. They have an excellent breakfast restaurant in connection with some cabins they rent across the street . We were here for thanksgiving and had a free turkey dinner at the American Legion post 2 blocks away (donations). Most everything closed for Thanksgiving but the mine tour. Ask for a space away from clutter.

Great State Park.caverns were awesome. We did the throne room tour. We also did the 2.5 mile hike which was fun. The kids rode there bikes around the park. Showers were very good and clean. Park is in excellent shape with asphalt. Our space 45 and space 46 were on slope. Most are flat spaces. We had a great time. No other hikes available here.

We stayed at a waterfront location that was just beautiful with a great view of the river/lakes. They are double wide spaces one for your RV and one for your towed and boat. Gravel lots with concrete pad in between. Mostly full timers here. We were between two sites that had been rented for 20 years to same folks. Everything here is first class. They have some rules. Nice beach, kids fishing dock, volleyball court, playground for kids, golf course. The place is designed for full timers and there are lots of permanent houses trailers. No rental of boats, no volley balls, no shuffleboard equipment, and no golf clubs to borrow. They don't even provide Wi-Fi in the clubhouse. Pool is super well, stocked store, library, and fitness center. Cell, coverage spotty here. They had a rodeo at the stables when we were here with $3 breakfast. It was great. Great park, bring your own stuff including your boat!

As other reviewers said this is the only campground with hookups in the park. Half of the park is for residents, mainly employees of the National Park Service. They are segregated in one area. Didn't see much of them. The sites are spacious as we were in a 35 foot plus toad and there was plenty of room. We were near a tree. Hookups were okay. Got down to 20F and no problems with water. We have a basement heater. Elk roaming through the campground. Lots of fun to see. Also saw herd of 25 on way to bright angel trail at 6:30 am. No fires here except contained. Everywhere else seemed okay and they sell firewood at store but not at trailer village. There is a cast iron BBQ grill for charcoal on each site. The picnic table is cemented to the ground. Bathrooms are heated! We had a blast. Convenient shuttle to get you where you want to go. You don't need a toad here to get around. When you check in make sure you don't block the shuttle bus.

We stayed here overnight as halfway point to the Grand Canyon from San Diego. Very nice folks in office. Beware of the signs when you turn in it directs you to a dead end if you come at night. We had a towed so that is a problem. The owner helped me back up. Great for overnight. Cheap clean and pull through spot. We have young kids no problem also.

We stayed here on the midway point from San Diego to the grand canyon. We were here on a Saturday night. This is primarily a residence based (ownership) location. Lots of ATV activity. Our space was a little small for our 35 foot plus towed. Really upscale. The kids loved the game room. They have a new pool, and jacuzzi. The resort is right on the river with a small beach okay for kids. The river has a high flow rate so the beach area is recessed for safety. Small area but okay for young kids. Don't let them swim out to river though. No trash bins nearby, real pain. The office is real nice and well stocked. It was warm 70 in November. Was a nice overnight.

This is a great membership resort RV campground. We got an invitation in the mail for a free stay and took them up on it during the Labor Day holiday. We arrived midday and had a medium sized RV site that was gravel covered, with full hookups. There is no Wi-Fi or cable at the campsite as it is in the remote area of Julian, CA. It is available Wi-Fi in the clubhouse. It took us about 1.5 hours from I-5 in San Diego. The site had plugs for 50 and 30 amps and after about 1 hour of trying I called the desk and it turns out they only have 30 amp service at some sites even with a 50 amp plug. Our spot 152 was not shaded but very central to all the activities. The park was not crowded even though it was Labor Day. The staff was up to the task of handling all the people. Lots of room in the park and space between sites. It was hilly though. All the sites are gravel including the handicapped sites. They have a great dog park, as mentioned in other reviews. large and full of lots of fun things for the doggies. Its like a 1/2 acre big. This alone makes it great. For the kids this is a delightful place. Rated as the best by my kids. Miniature golf, tennis, shuffleboard, horseshoes, a heated pool, and a house dedicated as kids club with an arcade. Kids dream place. They have a location to check out all the equipment you need included tennis balls and racquets. The kids club has TV's books, videos, crafts, a bounce house and lots of great activities for kids. And did I mention tether ball and a great kids playground? They have a well stocked fishing pond. A good camping trip is only successful with a fish caught. and we got three (catch and release for us). There were lots of people fishing on Labor Day and most got a nice fish. They also have prepared meals for most of the meals. Great food and reasonable priced at the clubhouse which is another great meet and greet place. They had a champagne brunch on Sunday for $8 and burgers and dogs one afternoon for $4. The clubhouse is by the pool area which has been recently renovated. The pool is heated in the winter with a plastic dome on top which will be great. The resort is nearby to Julian, CA which is a historic town with lots of quaint shops. There were no fire rings during California bone dry fire season (for obvious reasons) but they have them in the winter when the danger goes away. They also have cabins for rent but we did not go in these but they looked quaint and had propane tanks for kitchen or heat? The staff was excellent. All our interactions with staff were very superior. The park is a bit worn in places but an aggressive upgrade program is in place with the pool, horseshoe pit renovated and mini golf being upgraded this fall. They have separate parking spot for trailers for toweds. They allow golf carts but do not rent them here.

Nice park, big sites, can get 2 motorbikes in some sites. No hookups but has dump station. Beach is 150 steps down. Lots of rocks and not as much sand. Very isolated at least at this time of year. Surfing and fishing allowed. Camp store well equipped hours 8-8. Good kite flying with strong winds. Fire rings are a strong metal drum about 2 feet high. Park in linear with one long street with turnarounds at the end. About 200 spots. Road is okay for bike riding or dog walking.

We stayed one night here because the Springs was full and they suggested this. Average campground. We had a spot near the back and it was tight backing in. They have a heated hotel pool which we used and also the hot tub. There are no other activities for kids though. We walked and biked to the visitors center where there is adjacent desert to ride bikes, walk dogs etc. Nice restaurant and store. Front desk was helpful and friendly. They have an amphitheater and a place for fire rings for groups. My motorhome overheated and Tito's in town is a great mechanic and reasonable.

We stopped here at the end of the day and it was a great stay. An almost empty park so we had it all to ourselves. It has a great kids playground older but very functional. The kids loved it. When we drove in there was a goat in the front. Kids loved that too. Got a great spot with no one around. There was one other overnight camper there for the weekend. We hiked up the hills and had a lot of fun with that. They have miniature golf which the kids played 2 games and loved it and were ready for another round. There are 2 horseshoe pits too. The place is a bit run down and needs some maintenance so maybe a B- type of place. There is a Korean family running the place and very accommodating. They also have propane here which we filled up for $2.99 per gallon. But was nice for the one night we spent here. They have a nice clubhouse with Billiards and an old fashioned shuffleboard set. The pool was there but not heated. The hot tub was drained for season. It did get cold and our hose froze. Overall nice and you are definitely one of a few this time of year.

We stopped here after a big snowstorm slowed our way out of Yosemite. Its close to 41 and in an urban area of town. They had a pull through that fit us our our towed Jeep. 35' class A and Jeep grand Cherokee 55' combined length. Very quiet park, did not see hardly anyone. Its in an urban area at first glance not a great park but across the street is a great donut shop and diner. El Pollo Loco across street too. The kids and I played 2 bowling games in the alley next door which was very modern. The alley has video games for kids too. NOTE: There is a Kragen auto parts store across the street!! Great for a parts run. I say its great for an overnight. Not so great for extended stay camping. Everything worked. Did not check out the bathrooms or laundry. They left an envelope with our space # and map as we came in late on Thanksgiving.

We stayed at the park during the LA County fair as the KOA site next to fairground was full. We arrived late (Office 7-7pm) and the guard said pull in the spot and pay in AM. spot was a nice pull through. We pulled in and hooked up fine. In AM we did not have a picnic table so we had to carry one from an unused site. The campground had fishing so we went off fishing. No luck though. The locals said there are big fish but they were not biting this time of year. The lake is a hike from the B section. We took a shortcut down the hill which cut the hiking time by half. This is a big park and hills on it so harder for the kids to bike around if they do not have gears on bikes. The market was right up the road from B and had good prices and most things you need. Folks at the desk were friendly and helpful. We took a cab from the park to the Fairplex. $6.00 each way. Not bad. The fair was great. There was a kids playground, basketball hoops, horseshoes and volleyball. We did not use any of this. Look functional but a little older. We did not see skunks or other animals so the kids were disappointed about that. All the other reviewers said they were there and did the front desk. We brought with us a ultrasonic skunk machine but did not use it. There was lots of green around the RV's but nothing blocking you seeing your neighbor. There were a lot of permanent residents there as well but they did not seems an issue or problem. Overall a nice experience. We went with 2 kids, and bikes as well.
